Brett Hundley’s apprenticeship is complete as he is now the starter for the Packers. It’s a huge drop in both talent and experience from Aaron Rodgers and Hundley’s first appearance was not exactly something to store on video. However, coaches have had two weeks to work on weaknesses now that the youngster has played a full game as starter and we’re thinking that things have to get better. If things don’t go well offensively, Green Bay is more than capable of stopping a struggling Detroit team that has now lost four of previous five. Lions play in the red zone last week was simply atrocious as Leos should have taken down the Steelers if not for incompetent play-calling and execution when in scoring position. Obviously, this point-spread is reflective of the Rodgers injury, but a team that has one win at Lambeau in its past 26 visits will have a hard time winning and covering as a favourite here.

The Packers defense will alo be very prepared for this game coming off the bye week and they have allowed just 214 passing yards per game at home this season. Detroit has dropped 3 straight games and they have rushed for just 82.1 yards per game this season. The Lions are just 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games when playing a team with a winning record and their offensive line is a mess which will allow the Packers to get plenty of pressure on Stafford in Green Bay on Monday Night Football. The Packers are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 games after a bye and I have them pulling off the upset so grab the points with confidence. Play Green Bay ATS.

Green Bay has had two weeks to prepare for this game and I give McCarthy the big nod as a coach who knows how to coach when the chips are down. He knows how to win with what he has and Detroit cannot close a big game to save their life, never have, never will. My sources tell me Green Bays QB Hundley stayed in camp all week to study and work with WR's and Aaron Rodgers was with him the entire time. Detroit's OL line is a triage ward and frankly other than Stafford at QB Detroit really has nothing. Green Bay at home at night on national TV with their back against the wall in a must win game against a team they have beaten 24 out of 25 times at home catching points is too good not to stake a strong position on. Every sharp bettor in Vegas including my main source there is all over the Packers and so am I.
