The under is 14-6-1 in the last 21 head-to-head meetings between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Florida Panthers, and I expect another low-scoring affair when they clash at BB&T Center Thursday night.
Florida is coming off a 1-0 triumph over Ottawa. Under is 9-2 in Panthers last 11 after scoring two goals or less in their previous game and 5-2 in their last seven overall.
There's no reason to expect anything but another solid defensive outing from the Panthers here when they host a wildly inconsistent Flyers team that has dropped three of its last four games, including the last two at Buffalo and Columbus. Philadelphia took a 2-1 shootout loss against the Blue Jackets its last time out and under is 5-2-1 in the Flyers last eight overall.

I think we are getting some decent value here with the UNDER in Thursday's Alamo Bowl that has TCU taking on Stanford. While both of these teams come in averaging over 30 ppg, the offensive outputs are a bit misleading. The Horned Frogs averaged 33.2 ppg, but a big part of that was all the poor defenses they played in the Big 12, as TCU opponents on average gave up 32.8 ppg. Similar story for the Cardinal, who averaged just 32 ppg against teams that on average allowed 27.8 ppg.
It's also worth nothing that both of these teams weren't nearly as good offensively away from home. TCU only averaged 24.1 ppg on the road and Stanford averaged just 27.1 ppg on the road.
I also like how these two teams matchup defensively. It's no secret that the Cardinal want to run the football behind star running back Bryce Love. That plays right into the strength of this Horned Frogs defense. TCU ranked 4th in the country allowing a mere 99.8 ypg and while some of that had to do with the pass-happy offenses they faced in the Big 12, the fact that they only allowed 2.9 yards/carry tells you it's no fluke.
While Stanford's defense wasn't as dominant as it's been in years past, the Cardinal only gave up 21.5 ppg, which was the 30th best mark in the country. I think they have no problem here slowing down a pretty average TCU offense that really struggled to score when they were matched up with the few teams in the Big 12 that actually play some defense.
It's also worth noting that the Horned Frogs closed the year on a 8-1 UNDER run, while the UNDER was 6-3 in the Cardinal's final 9 games. UNDER is also 7-1 in TCU's last 8 games played in December and 8-2-1 in their last 11 bowl games. Take the UNDER!
