2-Unit Play. Take #707 Brooklyn (+10.5) over New Orleans (8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27)
We really like the Nets in this spot. This is one of those games where a big underdog grabs an outright win. Yes, the Pelicans are a tough team with their two dominant big men, but they struggle to defend teams that can score the basketball. The Nets by no means are a great team but they can put the ball in the basket, ninth in the NBA at just over 107 points per game. The Nets are typically a big dog versus Western Conference foes, as they are tonight, and they have had a lot of success in this spot. Brooklyn is 7-2 ATS in their last nine versus the West. Don't buy in to the rest that the Pelicans have had coming into this game as that doesn't automatically mean success for the Pelicans. New Orleans is just 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games when playing on three or more days rest. Take the road dog in this one as the road team is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings and the underdog is 20-8-1 ATS in the last 29 meetings.
6 Unit Play. Take #717 Over 199.5 Memphis at Los Angeles Lakers (10:35p.m., Wednesday December 27)
Christmas night we had the Lakers/Timberwolves over and had no problem cashing that ticket and tonight at Staples Center we will have no problem cashing this ticket. The Lakers have been trending over games and their last 7 games 6 of them have gone over. The Lakers have dropped 6 out of 7 games and their defense has been the reason why they have been struggling. The Lakers 'D' is given up an average of 113.5ppg and tonight I see the Grizzlies having no problem scoring against the Lakers 'D'. Memphis also comes into this game struggling and with the Lakers keeping this tempo high I see both teams scoring at will and we continue to cash NBA totals. Last 5 meeting between these two teams 4 of them have gone over the total and the last 11 home games by the Lakers 8 of them have gone over
4 Unit Play. Take #13 Under 5.5 -115 Nashville at St. Louis (8:05p.m., Wednesday December 27)
What a great game tonight at the Scottrade Center when the Blues welcome the Nashville Predators and I see a very tight game. Both teams come out of the Christmas break struggling a bit but when the Predators and Blues face off the UNDER is a great bet. These two teams played each other in St. Louis late November and Nashville won 2-0 and that game went UNDER and the last 5 meetings between these two teams all 5 of them have gone UNDER. Goalie matchup tonight should be outstanding as the Predators should have Pekka Rinne (18-6-3, 2.5 GAA, 0.923 SVPCT) and the Blues should have Jake Allen (18-10-2, 2.55 GAA, 0.913 SVPCT) and with these two in the net the UNDER should have no problem cashing. St. Louis is 0-7 O/U in their last 7 home games and the last 7 meetings in St. Louis between these two teams 4 of them have gone under with 2 pushes
