3-Unit Play. Take # 509 Orlando (+12.5) over Houston (8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30)
This play may look odd at first but if you take a closer look it makes perfect sense. In the month of January the Rockets have only won two games by more than this number, and that includes five home contests. Yes, the Orlando Magic are not a good team, but Houston will overlook this game. The Rockets have upcoming games with the Spurs and the Cavs this week. This is not a game they are focused on, and the backdoor will be wide open. Don't be surprised at all to see Houston limit a few players minutes or even sit a player or two to be rested for those bigger games later in the week. What it comes down to is can Houston cover this line, yes, they can, but will they...? Not tonight. Take the points here.
4 Unit Play. Take #504 New York -5 over Brooklyn (7:35p.m., Tuesday January 30)
Both teams come into this game struggling as the visiting Brooklyn Nets have dropped 3-Straight and back-to-back double-digit losses. The New York Knicks have dropped 3 out of 4 but did win their last road game beating the Phoenix Suns 107-85 but still the Knicks have dropped 7 out of 10. Earlier this month the Knicks went to Brooklyn and won 119-104 and tonight I see the same outcome and the Knicks will also have Enes Kanter back on the floor. Brooklyn is 2-5 ATS following a SU loss of 10 points or more in their last game and the Knicks are 4-1 ATS against division teams
3 Unit Play. Take #8 Columbus -120 over Minnesota (7:05p.m., Tuesday January 30)
The Columbus Blue Jackets went into the NHL All-Star break winning in Arizona 2-1 and the Jackets have won their last 2 out 3 games and tonight at home I see them starting the 2nd half with a big home 'W'. Early October the Blue Jackets stole a road game from Minnesota 5-4 in overtime and the Jackets have won 3-straight meetings and I see the road team Wild stuggling tonight. Minnesota is 1-5 in their last 6 road games and the Blue Jackets are 8-2 in their last 10 meetings against the Wild.
