                          7-Unit Play. Take #884 Xavier (-19) over Texas Southern (7:20 p.m., Friday, March 16)

1-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 160.5 Texas Southern vs. Xavier (7:20 p.m., Friday, March 16)

I think this game is going to be a rout. It really wouldn't surprise me to see Xavier win this one by 30 or more and I can see this game being somewhere around 101-72 or something thereabouts. This Xavier team is undervalued. They really are. This team is definitely a legit national title contender. But everyone is treating them like the ?other? No. 1 seed. This same core of guys went to the Elite Eight last year and they are even better now, with more size and more overall talent. Texas Southern plays zero defense and they are going to get run out of the gym. Look, I know everyone that bet them to win their play-in game is feeling the TSU love. And they have a coach (Mike Davis) that people know. I get it. But this team is swimming way out of its depth. Texas Southern played the No. 1 nonconference schedule in America. They played everybody. I mean everybody: Gonzaga, Ohio State, Syracuse, Kansas, Clemson, Oregon, Baylor, TCU and BYU. Everybody. But here's the thing: they didn't win any of those games and they never even really threatened to win any of those games. They lost to Gonzaga by 28, to Ohio State by 18, to Syracuse by 13, to Kansas by 43, to Baylor by 31 and to TCU by 19. Sure, they hung within 10 of Clemson and Baylor. But the fact is that they just aren't good enough to compete. They are cast-offs and transfers that have not played together for more than this year. To pull an upset you generally need cohesion and chemistry on the team. I don't see it with Texas Southern. (Though I do with Xavier.)
Further, Texas Southern is playing its third do-or-die game in its third city in the last seven days. This is the same angle we used to cash against St. Bonaventure last night. And Tuesday's other play-in winner, Radford, also got smoked yesterday. On top of that, this fits into a great system I have concerning top seeds that lose in their conference tournament. Throw in the fact that last year in the tournament a much better Texas Southern team lost to North Carolina by 40 and this is stacking up more and more like a blowout.
Xavier is talented and motivated. They have size and they defend. They also have great guard play and experience. The Musketeers only played three teams this year rated No. 200 or worse. They won those games by 52, 36 and 26 points. I don't think this game will be close at all and I absolutely love this spot for a blowout.

1-Unit Play. Take #866 Creighton (Pk) over Kansas State (6:50 p.m., Friday, March 16)

I like the Bluejays in this one. I will go with their seniors over Kansas State's relatively younger team. Kansas State didn't really play anyone in the nonconference and they were nothing more than OK in the Big 12 this year. Kansas State hasn't been great away from home and there's nothing about them that stands out. Creighton's Marcus Foster actually started his career at K-State as a highly touted recruit. Long story short, things didn't work out and he transferred. But you know that Foster, now a senior, would love to get some revenge against his old team. He and Khyri Thomas make up a really good backcourt. And the guy to watch today is X-factor Toby Hegner. If he is hitting from the outside then this Bluejays team is tough to slow down. This should be a very competitive game. But I look for Creighton to find a way to advance.

                          2-Unit Play. Take #874 Purdue (-20) over Cal-Fullerton (12:40 p.m., Friday, March 16)
Purdue has absolutely demolished teams this year. Good teams. Big Ten teams. Good mid-major teams. NCAA Tournament teams. They beat Arizona by 25. They beat Butler by 15. They beat Minnesota by 34 on the road and Iowa by 23 on the road. When the Boilermakers get rolling they are one of the best teams in the country, without question. The key is their size. Their two massive centers, 7-2 Isaac Haas and 7-3 Matt Haarms, are simply too much for other teams to deal with. Add in some talented wings - Carsen and Vincent Edwards - and a host of experience guards and this team is no joke. Cal-Fullerton is not a good team. They were fourth in a mediocre Big West this year. They only tournament caliber teams they faced this year were USC and St. Mary's and they lost by 42 and 19 points. Worst of all for them, of the eight guys in their normal rotation the tallest is 6-9. They have two other 6-7 guys. That's it. That's what they will be throwing at the Purdue frontcourt. Fullerton starts three sophomores and this is a young team. They are going to get taken behind the woodshed today.

                          1-Unit Play. Take #878 Michigan State (-13.5) over Bucknell (7 p.m., Friday, March 16)

I think Michigan State is the best team in the field. They have had all sorts of distraction
s over the past month or so. But I think these last two weeks off after the Big Ten tournament have been good for them to kind of get things centered and really get focused on making a national title run. Like Purdue, Michigan State is a team that can overwhelm really good teams. And that's what I expect here. Bucknell is a fine basketball team with some quality players. But they are simply swimming out of their depth here. MSU's size and talent will wear them out and I expect to see a very motivated Spartans team come to play today.

                          1-Unit Play. Take #886 Marshall (+12.5) over Wichita State (1:30 p.m., Friday, March 16)
Marshall has a defineable characteristic: they can score. Sometimes that's all it takes. Having guys that can make shots is a big plus when you're trying to pull an upset. And I think that they can make enough of them to hang around with a team like Wichita. This Shockers team has been a bit overvalued all season long. And while I do like their overall team makeup, I can see them getting tested here.

1-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 146.5 Missouri vs. Florida State (9:50 p.m., Friday, March 16)

                          1-Unit Play. TEASER: Take #886 Missouri (+6.5) over Florida State (9:50 p.m.) AND Take #870 North Carolina (-15) over Lipscomb (2:45 p.m.)

                          1-Unit Play. TEASER: Take #894 Auburn (-4.5) over Charleston (7 p.m.) AND Take #888 West Virginia (-5) over Murray State (4 p.m.)

                          1-Unit Play. TEASER: Take #874 Purdue (-15) over Cal-Fullerton (12:40 p.m.) AND Take #884 Xavier (-14) over Texas Southern (7:20 p.m.)

                          1-Unnit Play. TEASER: Take #878 Michigan State (-8.5) over Bucknell (7 p.m.) AND Take #884 Xavier (-14) over Texas Southern (7:20 p.m.)

7-Unit Play. #886. Take Over 146.5 Florida State vs. Missouri (Friday @ 9:50pm est) (146 at Sations and BetOnline) - wait on this line, it will likely keep going down.

We roll with the Over here as we think the pace will be faster than most people realize. Per this selection, We get the fact that Barnett had a drinking violation and he will not be able to play in the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament b/c of his 1 game suspension. We still like the Over. At the end of the day when it counts stars show up and you will see Michael Porter Jr. play much better than he did against Georgia with a 2 point loss earlier this year in the SEC Tournament. It was an early exit for Cuonzo Martin's team and we like Missouri to bounce-back here with a positive offensive effort after scoring just 60 points in their only SEC Tournament game. This team dropped 77 on Arkansas and nearly 70 on Kentucky and Alabama. Now, that's important to note because FSU is not a strong defensive team as they are top 80 and gave up 82 points to Louisville in their last game, 76 to Boston College and 75 to lowly Pittsburgh. Considering that, we like Missouri to bounce-back offensively here in their first game of the Tournament with a better showing, we like FSU to bounce-back after an early exit in the ACC Tournament with a solid offensive output because that is how this team bounces back and plays well and though the total is high, we think it is warranted as we expect an up and down contest that likely sees this game go over the posted total

8 Unit Play. Take #880 Nevada +1.5 over Texas (4:30p.m., Friday March 16 TBS)

Just do not believe that Texas is set up to make a run in the NCAA Tournament. They have great size, but they do not shoot it well at all from the three-point line. Nevada has a very experienced team with great guards. They laid an egg in the semi-finals of the MWC Tournament, but they have not had much success against San Diego State. They are thin with players, so the extra rest likely did them good for this game. Nevada has been ranked for most of the season and getting away from MWC teams should do them good for this game. Texas will have a major edge in size, but I do not believe that they will be able to exploit that enough for 40 minutes to win this game. Texas is 0-8 ATS in their last 8 NCAA Tournament games. Texas is also 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against MWC teams. Nevada is 17-3 ATS (1 push) in their last 21 games following a loss in their previous game.

5 Unit Play. Take #884 Xavier -19 over Texas Southern (7:20p.m., Friday March 16 TBS)

Texas Southern does not have a winning record and they had to play two days ago making this a quick turnaround with a little travel. Xavier is getting no respect as a No. 1 seed and they will take that out in this game winning by 20+ points.

4 Unit Play. Take #885 Florida State -1.5 over Missouri (9:50p.m., Friday March 16 TBS)

Missouri is in flux now with the return of Michael Porter Jr and the absence of Jordan Barnett. Porter did not play well in his first game back and I do not believe we will see much better in this game. Florida State has their own issues of laying an egg in the ACC Tournament but they match-up well with Missouri. The Seminoles are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games against SEC teams. Missouri is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 NCAA Tournament games.

4 Unit Play. Take #889 Marshall +12 over Wichita State (1:30p.m., Friday March 16 TNT)

Marshall is a very streaky team but they do one thing well: shoot free throws. The Thundering Herd might get down big in this game but sooner or later they will get hot from the three-point line and make a run. Wichita State just does not have the top talent that they have had in years past and thus this is a lot of points for them to be laying. Marshall is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 neutral site games. Wichita State is 7-20 ATS (1 push) in their last 28 neutral site games.

4 Unit Play. Take #892 Clemson -4.5 over New Mexico State (9:55p.m., Friday March 16 TruTV)

Clemson has not been the same without Donte Grantham but they should have enough to beat a team from the WAC. Clemson had a very good year especially early in the season and for the most part they beat the teams that they should beat. New Mexico State has not done much with their NCAA Tournament appearances going 1-4 ATS in their last five NCAA games. Clemson is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 neutral sites games.
4 Unit Play. Take #893 Charleston +9.5 over Auburn (7:25p.m., Friday March 16 TruTV)
