Jack’s Free Pick Monday: Chicago White Sox +153
The Chicago White Sox are a sneaky sleeper in the AL Central this year. Their lineup is full of a bunch of names not too many know about, but a lineup that has tons of talent. That was evident when the White Sox hung 14 runs and 6 homers on the Royals in their opener. They followed that up with a 4-3 win in Kansas City on Saturday, and then didn’t play Sunday.
So with just two games in the last four days, the White Sox are fresh and ready to go. The Blue Jays just played a four-game series with the Yankees to open the season, winning the final two games to split the series. They won’t be nearly as excited with the White Sox coming to town.
I’ll gladly fade Toronto’s 5th starter in Jaime Garcia, who went 5-10 with a 4.41 ERA and 1.408 WHIP in 27 starts last year. Reynaldo Lopez is one of the young talented pitchers in Chicago’s rotation that could blossom in 2018. The White Sox are 4-0 in Lopez’s last four starts.
Chicago has had Toronto’s number. The White Sox are 10-4 in their last 14 meetings with the Blue Jays, including 6-1 in their last seven meetings in Toronto. Bet the White Sox Monday.
