Here’s our best bets for the action ahead:
Milwaukee Brewers @ Cincinatti Reds
The Reds have found their hitters it seems but we’re still happy to back against them – especially at generous odds. The question here is whether the Brewers can find some offensive rhythm, which you’d like to think they will against a team that still allows 5.92 runs per game against them. Jhoulys Chacin will take to the mound for the visitors and the 30-year-old seems to have found his groove this season after allowing just three runs in his last 15+ innings. Meanwhile, Brandon Finnegan is still searching for his first win on the year although his 0-2 record and 8.03 ERA are slightly misleading he hasn’t fared well at the mound. His last start saw him give up three runs on seven hits in five innings against the Braves and if his control isn’t improved here he could help the Brewers lineup recover their confidence. We’ve got two interesting leans in this one and will split our stake accordingly – the Brewers are overpriced and we’ll lock them in. We’ll also take the Unders given Milwaukee’s current cold streak hitting and the fact that four of the last five meetings between these sides have stayed Under the total, including 40 of Milwaukee’s last 56 on the road!

Philadelphia Phillies @ Miami Marlins
This is a great revenge spot for Jake Arrieta after a troubling first-out showing for the Phillies against the Marlins earlier this year. Since then, he’s gone 3-0 and given up just three earned runs in just over 20 innings worth of work. The 32-year-old actually boasts a strong record against this Marling batting lineup and we firmly expect him to put his best foot forward here as a result. Miami is averaging just 3.26 runs per game at the moment and we feel the Phillies are being way overpriced given their recent mini-slump. There’s some discrepancies as well in their value so we’re locking in this price now with Crownbet given it’s over 10 cents higher than where we value Philly. It’ll be interesting to see what we get from Dan Straily in his first appearance of the year but we feel some rust, along with the fact he has a 5.35 ERA against the Phillies, will see him give up too many for his hitters to make back against a very in-form Arrieta.
