Giants over Rockies- Do you guys remember when Jeff Samardzija (1-2, 6.96 ERA) was catching passes for Notre Dame as an All-American receiver? When passed on football and decided to play baseball my first thoughts were that he was something special. He started as a reliever for the Cubs and was 12-9 until moved into the starters roll and has gone 57-80 since. He has had six losing season's in the last seven years with the only winning season is 2016 when he was 12-11. He has struck-out 200 batters three times but just doesn't win. He is 4-5 lifetime against Colorado but has a decent 3.83 ERA in 15 games. But, yeaaaa, he wins tonight. Take the GIANTS!

Rod Gardenhire, the former Twins’ manager, is working magic in Detroit this season. He has little to work with coming in, but the Tigers are just a few games back of the Indians within the division right now. They have gone 4-2 in their last six games overall despite being an underdog in all six games.
Now the Tigers are massive underdogs to the Mariners when they shouldn’t be tonight. They have the advantage on the mound behind Matt Boyd, who is 2-3 with a 3.21 ERA and 1.048 WHIP in seven starts this season. And Boyd won’t have to deal with two of Seattle’s best hitters in Robinson Cano (hand, suspension) and Nelson Cruz (foot), who were both recently knocked out with injuries.
Seattle will be giving the ball to its worst starter in Marco Gonzales, who is 3-3 with a 4.65 ERA and 1.500 WHIP in eight starts this season. Gonzalez is 0-1 with a 5.14 ERA and 1.500 WHP in three home starts. He is 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA and 2.000 WHIP in one career start against Detroit, which came in his most recent start on May 12th.
The Tigers are 4-1 in their last five games following a loss. Detroit is 4-1 in Boyd’s last five starts vs. AL West opponents. Seattle is only 17-21 (-17.2 units) as a home favorite of -150 to -200 over the last three seasons. Bet the Tigers Thursday.
