#2 HEAT MY DUST (ML=4/1)

HEAT MY DUST - I believe Cates is making a good move here. This filly can only benefit from the shorter distance. As the only speedy sort in the race, I expect this filly to be long gone. This one has shown the class ability to win on different tracks. Making the move from Oaklawn Park for today's event, I have to believe she's ready to run.

Vulnerable Contenders: #4 KAT'S INFATUATION (ML=3/2), #5 CATHERINE'S DREAM (ML=3/1), #3 PLUM GORGEOUS (ML=9/2),

KAT'S INFATUATION - Generally I need a sprinter to have some recent success in sprint contests in order to wager on her. I think this morning-line choice needs this race under her belt to start getting back into shape. CATHERINE'S DREAM - This less than sharp equine will probably bounce off of the last strong outing. PLUM GORGEOUS - Awfully difficult to wager on this horse when she hasn't been showing any signs of readiness of late. Recorded a somewhat easily forgotten speed rating last out in a $25,000 Optional Claiming race on May 29th. Doubtful to see an improved performance off of that rating.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - HEAT MY DUST - The race on Feb 4th had a class rating of 95 while today's class rating is 90. I got to bet this one on such a big drop.

I've got to go with CELESSE and the potential return justifies the very dangerous nature of the long odds. Should be given a chance here on the basis of the figs in the speed section alone. LOOKINGFORANEWSPOT - Has to be given a chance based on the very good Equibase speed fig garnered in the last competition. With better than average trips to the winner's circle, Rodriguezcastr will almost certainly have this mare in excellent position to win the contest. DANCING COOL - The winning percentage shown by horses entered by Taylor running at this distance are the most competitive in this field. Must be in sound condition if the conditioner is bringing her back so soon.

MRS. PATRICE - I think the shorter distance will help this filly stay the distance. With a big class drop in class rating points from her May 7th race at Thistledown. Based on that element, I will give this thoroughbred the advantage. AMERICAN LIONESS - The jock/conditioner duo of Gonzalez and Brown has a strong ROI together. Mare has shown some pace. This shorter trip should be better for her. Have to like the way Brown has raced this mare back into shape off the layoff. Animal is well spotted in this sprint and I think she'll run well today. BEIJA BOO - Filly won shipping here on May 28th and looks good right back. Rider hops back aloft after getting to know the fine animal by riding last time around the track. That's always a big time angle.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 WICKED LOVE (ML=5/2), #7 SASSY SLEW (ML=7/2), #4 TRUE BLUE DIAMOND (ML=9/2),

WICKED LOVE - That was just not a very good display in the last affair. Hasn't been on the Thistledown oval in the last three weeks. Cause for some concern. Will be tough for this mount to beat this group off of that last speed figure. Not likely to improve enough to run a figure close enough to today's class rating, so put her on the questionable challengers list. SASSY SLEW - If you keep selecting these sort of 'bridesmaid' types, you're going to be dissatisfied frequently. TRUE BLUE DIAMOND - This less than sharp equine made little impact last time out of the box finishing fourth. Don't see any hint of a reversal of fortune in today's race. This animal likes to finish in the money, but doesn't usually finish on top. Forget the top spot.
