Tuesday MLB Free play. My selection is on Minnesota over Detroit at 7:10 pm et on Tuesday.
The Twins endured a bit of a rough series against the Angels over the weekend, dropping two of three games but I look for them to build off Sunday's victory as they head to Detroit to face the Tigers on Tuesday.
Jake Odorizzi will take the ball for Minnesota. His overall numbers this season aren't great. However, he has given up three earned runs or less in seven of his last eight starts and has only needed to throw over 100 pitches once in his last six outings. He has given up just six earned runs in 23 2/3 innings over the course of his career against Detroit.
Blaine Hardy will counter for Detroit. He has hung in there, working at least six innings in three straight starts entering this one. He was tagged for eight hits and five earned runs at Fenway Park last time out, however. Hardy will also be at a disadvantage here facing the Twins for the second time in less than a month. He was effective but the Tigers suffered a 4-2 loss in Minnesota back on May 21st. Hardy isn't a hard thrower and I believe the Twins will get to him tonight.
