HIDDEN GARDEN - Have to give this filly a shot. Ran a solid race last time around the track within the last month or so. A winning percentage the likes of what McKee and Ashcraft have achieved together is out of sight. I like this filly. Has the top earnings per race in this one.

PERFECTLY MATTIE - This vulnerable equine ran a common speed figure last time out. She shouldn't improve and will likely lose in today's race running that figure. BONNIE BONNET - While Equibase's speed ratings are strong, I would seriously discount the high one from the July 6th on the soft turf. Some animals just run well on the off going. A stretch-runner like this one needs an early battle to set things up and she isn't likely to get one this time around.

GOING RATE - You should toss that last race at Mountaineer Park on the soft turf where he finished out of the money. Should do well right here in this race without a sloppy track. LONG ON LUCK - McKnight is great in turf routes. This animal should have no excuses if he doesn't win. The June 29th clash at Churchill Downs was at a class level of (90). Dropping down the ladder based on class significantly, so he should be in a good position to win. McKnight is good with horses moving to the turf for the first time. You have to figure this colt is going to be in contention in this event. ALL ABOUT VOODOO - A horse coming back this quickly after a sharp effort is a good sign. LAYOFFTHEHIGHONES - This is the only runner in today's event that has won over this course. Gelding finished first his last race here on July 8th as a shipper. I think he looks like a winner once again. A horse coming back this quickly after a good race is a good signal. This trainer brings horses to the grass conditioned properly and ready to go, winning over 20 pct of the time under similar conditions.

REAP - One should normally not bet on a entrant in the next start after finishing off the board following a long vacation. Hard to bet on at 7/2 odds after the most recent outings. LEO MEISTER - The effort last time around the track on Jun 15th probably won't hold up against stronger opponents when they turn for home. Don't feel this mount will make an impact today. That last speed rating was substandard when compared with today's class figure. TONBO - I cannot play this continual non-winner. Gets the task fulfilled infrequently. This closer will probably be coming much too late to make a mark in this clash.

After rallying for the win last week, QB Travis Dulay and company have plenty of momentum coming into this week's game as they got the W last week after being down 17-0. BC has a bye week on deck so they certainly do not have any type of lookahead situation and, in fact, can simply go "all out" here knowing that an opportunity for rest looms. The Redblacks are an ugly 2-5 ATS as a home favorite in a range of 3.5 to 7 points. In home games with a posted total of 52 points or more Ottawa is on a 4-10 ATS run. Under the total is a good way to look in the first game back for teams following All-Star break. Not only have most of the hitters been out of action for four straight days, but bullpens are rested. I don't see the Mets and Yankees combining for more than eight runs here in a pitching matchup of Noah Syndergaard versus Domingo German. Syndergaard is an elite pitcher when healthy, which he is now. He has given up three runs or fewer in 11 consecutive starts. This will be his secong start since returning from a finger injury that sidelined him for more than a month. So he should be able to go deep into the game. German has been up-and-down. He certainly won't lack motivation, though, as he's battling to keep his spot in the Yankees' starting rotation. One of German's better performances came against the Mets on June 9. He gave up three runs in six innings with nine strikeouts and no walks. German can go all out knowing the Yankees' deep bullpen can take over after five innings if necessary. German is facing a Mets offense that has the second-lowest batting average in the majors and ranks seventh-from-the-bottom in runs. The Mets have scored four runs or less in nine of their last 10 games. Both teams have a strong recent history of going Under during interleague play. The Under has cashed in eight of the Mets' last 10 interleague games. The Yankees have gone Under in 12 of their past 13 interleague games.
