4-Unit Play: Take 914 Blue Jays -145 over Orioles (7:05 p.m., Tues., August 21)
We're backing the Blue Jays to make it nine straight wins over Baltimore with Gaviglio over Bundy. Baltimore hurler Dylan Bundy has been pummeled for 15 runs on 19 hits his last two starts in only 10 1/3 innings pitched. Bundy is 1-10 in night games this season and he has a 7.31 ERA overall since the All-Star break. In two starts against Toronto this year, Bundy has been tagged for seven runs in 12 innings. The Blue Jays have beaten Baltimore eight times in a row following Monday's 5-3 victory. The hapless Orioles are 16-48 on the road and they have lost 14 of Bundy's last 17 starts versus AL East teams. Sam Gaviglio has been great at home and terrible on the road. The right-hander has made eight starts at Rogers Centre this season and he's 1-1 with a 2.70 ERA. Toronto is 22-8 its last 30 games against teams with .400 or less winning percentages. We'll back the Blue Jays on Tuesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.
4 Units - #904 Washington (-135) over Philly 8/21 *7 EST
Going with a red-hot Tanner Roark for the Nats at home against the Phillies tonight, he is 5-0 with a 1.77 ERA since the All Star break, and pitching a against a team who scores just 3.8 r8uns on the road this season to date. Roark has allowed just 7 earned runs in his last 35+ innings. Velasquez has struggled in his last 2 starts and has had issues with control and has walked a ton of abtters recently and has over a 5 ERA against the Nats in 6 outings. The Phillies bullpen is at 7.64 and are off a bad series loss against the lowly Mets who managed 24 runs against them in one game, and while the Nats are off a series loss to Miami, they have had 2 days to stew over a 12-1 loss to end that series and I like them at home here.
2 Units - #922 Oakland RUNLINE (-1.5 @ -115) over Texas 8/21 *10 EST
Oakland a 9-0 winner last night exceeding the total in that game by themselves, and with Brett Andersen on the hill tonight who has been unhittable in his last 3 games, I will side with them again for another multi-run win again at home. Andersen has a 0.61 WHIP his last 3, a 0.92 ERA. He has struggled against Texas in recent times, but this is the game he can exorcise some demons. Ariel Jurardo takes the hill for Texas with over a 7 ERA his last 3 starts and over a 6 ERA on the year and has given up 6 runs in each of his last 2 starts and gave up 4 homers in his last game to the Yankees. Oakland all the way here.
Boston -145
Cleveland @ Boston | 8/21 | 7:10 PM EDT
In four of five starts post All-Star break, Indians pitcher Shane Bieber has had issues with his command and giving up crucial hits. Look for Boston's potent lineup to take care of business Tuesday, even with the Red Sox pitcher Nathan Eovaldi struggling.
UNDER 7
Kansas City @ Tampa Bay | 8/21 | 7:10 PM EDT
After nearly a month away, Blake Snell has been eased back into the Rays rotation. In three return starts, he has not pitched beyond the fifth inning or more than 76 pitches. Still, look for both the Rays and Royals to continue their offensive struggles Tuesday and support the Under.
Atlanta -115
Atlanta @ Pittsburgh | 8/21 | 7:05 PM EDT
After being swept at home by the Rockies, the Braves won Monday on the road in Pittsburgh. Look for continued road success for the Braves on Tuesday as the Pirates continue to struggle with their offense.
Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka has been hit hard in three straight starts while struggling to make it through six innings. Marlins starter Pablo Lopez has danced with inconsistency since entering the rotation in late June. While the Over might look appealing, the value Tuesday is on the Under.
