5 Units - #957 Pittsburgh / #958 Milwaukee (Under 8.5) 8/24 *8:10 EST
This is a huge series for the Brewers as they have slipped to a tie for last wildcard spot with Colorado. They are 2-8 against Pitt their last 10. This is going to be a tight pitchers duel tonight with Musgrove who leads Pitt in ERA and WHIP this year, and pitched a 1 run game against the Cubs last outing and a 3.30 ERA on the year. Miley for the Brew Crew has not allowed more than 3 earned runs iun ANY of his last 9 starts. Pitt is on a 10-1 Under tear their last 11 games. Enough said.
4 Units - #959 St Louis / #960 Colorado (Under 10.5) 8/24 *8:40 EST
Colorado needed a bottom of 9th walk off homer with a guy to score 4 runs yesterday against the hapless Padres (thank God, I was all over them). None the less the offense of both teams are going to struggle here. Both bullpens rock solid their last 5 games, the Rockies bullpen has less than a 1 ERA their last 5. Both pitchers in good form, Cards Ace Mikolas is undefeated on the road with a 3.47 road ERA, and Senzatela is 3-0 at home, has 7 starts overall for Colorado with and ERA of 3.00 and overall his last 3 a 2.16 ERA. Like a lower scoring game here and although a hitters park, Colorado cannot exploit it much.
7-Unit Play: Take 959 Cardinals -110 over Rockies (8:40 p.m., Friday, Aug. 24)
I'm playing the red-hot Cardinals on Friday with Mikolas over Senzatela. Miles Mikolas has posted a 0.75 WHIP in his last three starts, showing he's just as hot as his team and not wearing down during the stretch drive of the regular season. He's been stellar in his last five road starts, posting a sizzling, 2.93 ERA and 1.07 WHIP, while not allowing a single home run! Antonio Senzatela's ERA looks sharp at home, but we don't believe it'll last. The fact is, his home WHIP is 1.43 and with a WHIP that big, it's eventually going to catch up to him and we're betting it happens tonight against St. Louis. The Cards are on a 13-2 run and 17-4 in August and they'll be in search of their 9th straight road win. We believe they'll get it. I'm backing the Cardinals on Friday night. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.
I LOVE the 1st half. Brand new head coach Patricia is 0-2 in preseason. All reports have them game planning for THIS game, and Stafford playing the entire 1st half.
Tbay has played well in preseason, but they are banged up in the trenches on Offense, and have a limited HFA.
Detroit should take the lead in this game, and ultimately this is a coinflip game we are getting points with........

LEANS:
253 Giants, Giants 1st half, UNDER 41
257 Ne Pats+1
262 Min -3.5
Note I played 264 Oak -2.5 as a 3* but at the current -6/-6.5 number I might even lean Gb at +6.5. However, I DO think Oak 1st half, and Gb 2nd half make sense at the current numbers....
