7-Unit Play. Take #520 Miami (-10) over Cleveland (8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 28)
The Cavs are just terrible. Even worse for Cavs fans is the fact that they are starting to get banged up as well. Rodney Hood is dealing with an achillies issue, and Tristan Thompson and Kevin Love are still out. This team just doesn't have enough in the tank to keep pace with any NBA teams as of late. They are very similar to the Knicks, who keep getting beat by double-figures. Miami does struggle to score the basketball, but a perfect remedy for this is to play one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA (Cleveland). The Heat lost their last time out, but they gave the Raptors everything they could handle. Prior to that game Miami had won five games in a row straight up, including home wins over the Milwaukee Bucks and Houston Rockets. Miami had yesterday off, and tomorrow off, and they are staying at home, so there isn't a let down or look ahead spot. Miami is going to win this game by 17-20 points. Miami is 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games overall. Cleveland on the other hand is just 1-6 ATS in their last seven trips to Miami. The home team is the play in this series as they are 12-3 ATS in the last 15 meetings between the two teams.
