5-Unit Play. Take First Half #306 New England (-3) over Los Angeles Chargers (1 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 13)

This play is from my NFL 411 System.
I will take the Patriots in this game. Bill Belichick has only lost to Philip Rivers one time and that was way back in 2008. The Patriots have won four straight in this series both SU and ATS. The Patriots are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games in the divisional round in the playoffs. They have done well with two weeks to prepare for these games. The Patriots are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 playoff games overall and they are 5-2 ATS in their last seven playoff home games. I think that they will have a big advantage with the home crowd and the cold weather. New England is 38-16 ATS in their last 56 home games and they are 25-12 ATS in their last 37 conference games. The Patriots are 37-17 ATS in their last 54 games overall and 18-8 ATS when they face a team with a winning record. I think that they will jump out to a fast start against this Los Angeles team and I like Brady and Belichick to get another victory over Rivers and the Chargers.

4-Unit Play. Take 'Under' 51.0 Philadelphia at New Orleans (4:30 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 13)
Three of the last four meetings between these two teams have gone 'under' and I think that this one will go under as well. The total on this game in the regular season was 56.5. That game just stayed 'under' in a 48-7 New Orleans win. The Eagles defense has gotten healthier and they have gone 'under' in two straight and five of their last eight games. The Saints have gone 'under' in five of their last seven games. Both teams will try to run the ball. That will help keep the clock going. The 'under' is 7-2 in Philadelphia's last nine games in January and is 5-1 in their last six divisional round playoff games. The 'under' is 12-5 in Philadelphia's last 17 playoff games overall. I will go against the public on this one and I think this will be a lower scoring game. Play 'under'.

3 Unit Play Take #306 New England -4 over Los Angeles Chargers (1:05pm est):
The New England Patriots were at home in their last two games of this season and then had a bye last week so they should be coming into this game well rested and focused for this one. The Patriots have made a killing in this type of spot in the past going 7-0 the last seven times they've had a wildcard round bye week and they won those games easily by an average of 17 points per game. The Patriots are also undefeated at home this year and have now won 15 straight games at home.
The Los Angeles Chargers are playing their 3rd straight road game here and have their 2nd straight cross country road trip in this one as well. Quarterback Phillip Rivers is 0-7 overall against the Patriots Tom Brady and is 1-6 against the spread in those seven games. Add in the fact New England head coach Bill Belichick has had two weeks to prepare for this game.
Take New England minus the points in this one.

4 Unit Play Take #307 'over' 51 Philadelphia/New Orleans (4:40pm est):
The New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has been awesome at home this year with 21 touchdowns and just one interception to go along with an eye popping 133 QB rating. The Saints were missing their best offensive lineman for most of their games down the stretch but he's back for this.
The Philadelphia Eagles pass defense has been hit hard with injuries this season. They faced this New Orleans offense earlier this season and gave up 48 points in that game. The Eagles offense looks better with Nick Foles running the show nowadays. Keep in mind they have also added Golden Tate to their team along with recently getting back running back Darren Sproles after he missed most of the first three months of the season. The Eagles put up 16 points last week against the top rated Chicago Bears defense but they very easily could have scored more if not for turning the ball over twice in the red zone.
Play 'over' this total. Been a great year in college basketball action with profits over $3,000 this year. Join me as I love the conference season that just got started. I focus mainly on the smaller leagues where I have a huge edge over the betting markets.

7-Unit Play. Take #305 Los Angeles Chargers +4 over New England (Sunday, January 13 at 1:00 PM ET)

Take the Los Angeles Chargers ATS is my 7-Unit NFL Smash for Sunday. This pick falls into one of my top NFL systems and I would not be shocked to see the Chargers win this game by 10+ points on the road Sunday. The Chargers are the best road team in the NFL and they have averaged 26.5 points per game on the road this season while holding opponents to just 19.5 points per game. The Chargers have also held opponents to just 16 points per game over their last 3 games and this is the Chargers offense that just beat the number 2 defense in the NFL. The Patriots have not looked sharp at times this season taking too many penalties like they did in their loss to Pittsburgh and then they let the Dolphins beat them in a play that should've never been allowed to happen. The Chargers are the superior team defensively coming into this game and Tom Brady will be under pressure all day. The Chargers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games when playing a team that has a winning record at home and the Chargers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 playoff games on the road. The Chargers just be one of the best defenses in the NFL so you can expect their offense to roll against this Patriots defense that gave up 33 points to a bad Dolphins offense ranked 26th in the NFL. Play Los Angeles ATS as my epic NFL season continues.

4-Unit Play. #305. Take Over 47.5 LA Chargers vs. New England Patriots (Sunday @ 1:05pm est)

The Chargers defense is good, but they are not as good as advertised by the Ravens. The Ravens are terrible and had a terrible game plan with Jackson. The Chargers can be scored on as evidenced by the Chiefs scoring 29 points on them, Cincinnati scoring 21, Pittsburgh scoring 30 and Denver scoring 23 points. You don't think New England won't be able to find a few holes here at home against the Chargers? Of course. Having said that, the Chargers don't have to face an elite defense this time around as they did against the Ravens who are the #1 Defense as both offenses get it going here as this game goes over.

7-Unit Play. #307. Take Under 51 New Orleans Saints vs. Philadelphia Eagles (Sunday @ 4:40pm est)

There will be a lot less points in this game than people realize. You have to think Philadelphia is going to be motivated after being steamrolled by New Orleans earlier this year for 44 points. In the same token, the Saints, albeit it was against a Carolina team that had packed it in, still gave up 33 points and 28 to Pittsburgh as well in the game before. This team is not going to take the Eagles lightly here. They are the defending champs and this is what Sean Payton has waited for ages. This is the reason why this team wanted Home Field Avantage as well as they have been waiting for this moment for years as Brees understands his window is closing. This is a New Orleans that mirrors a lot of the Eagles Defense. Remember, this team gave up 9 points to Carolina just weeks before, 14 to Tampa Bay the #1 defense on the road, 17 to Atlanta and before the Carolina game, had given up 6 of 7 contests where they gave up just 17 points or less. This is the 2nd ranked team in rush defense as well which means Foles has to try to beat this team throwing the ball. We like this to be a relatively low scoring contest as it dips under the posted total here. Remember, the Saints only scored 12 points against Carolina on the road too and Philadelphia will undoubtedly make some adjustments here.
