It's a big money line price to pay, but the Dodgers have looked good, including an 18-run explosion Saturday and eight-plus runs in three of four so far. The Giants managed more than one run just once in four games at San Diego. L.A. takes this game in a huge 74 percent of my simulations, so the value is still on the favorite here.

The White Sox finally bested the Royals on Sunday, but that took a no-hit bid into the seventh before the bullpen nearly blew it. Michael Clevinger is projected by my computer model to have a solid day, and the Cleveland bats should do enough against Ivan Nova. The Indians win nearly 70 percent of my simulations -- even at this big money line price, my projections show there's value.

They're the underdog again here but the offense has been too strong to go against, especially at Great American Ballpark. Cincy was blanked at home on Sunday. Milwaukee wins this game in 60 percent of my simulations -- back the underdog here.

The Indians managed just five runs in three games at Minnesota. That's not good. But now they return home -- only the Red Sox, Yankees and Rockies scored more runs at home than Cleveland last year. And Cleveland's lineup is a lifetime .394 against Sox starter Ivan Nova, albeit in limited action. Mike Clevinger has had considerable success against Chicago in his career, especially last year when he went 3-0, allowing three earned runs over 20.1 innings and 28 strikeouts.

The Pirates' home opener would qualify, and they've won five hope openers in a row. The Cardinals lost three of four in Milwaukee and the road trip to open the year continues. Adam Wainwright has a career 5.54 ERA at PNC Park (in a lot of appearances), and last season he was 0-3 witha 5.66 ERA in four day-game starts.
