I'll take my chances here with the Nationals at basically a pick'em on the road against the Brewers. I just can't pass up a play on Washington at this price with Max Scherzer on the mound. While Scherzer is just 1-4 with a 4.08 ERA in 7 starts, he has a very strong 1.166 WHIP in those outings and has a 62-7 K/BB ratio in 46 1/3 innings of work. I believe this is the best pitcher in the game and it's only a matter of time before he's back to looking like a Cy Young candidate. He's coming off back-to-back starts where he thew 7 innings and allowed 3 or fewer runs. As for the Nationals offense, they should be able to push across at least a few runs here against the Brewers Jhoulys Chacin. Give me Washington -104!

Rarely will you get the opportunity to back Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals at nearly even money. We’ll take advantage here and back Scherzer to take down the Milwaukee Brewers on the road Monday night.
Scherzer hasn’t been as dominant as usual through the first month of the season, going 1-4 with a 4.08 ERA and 1.166 WHIP in seven starts. And backers have gone 1-6 betting with him. But he has 62 K’s in 46 1/3 innings, so the stuff is still there. Scherzer is 2-2 with a 1.84 ERA and 0.864 WHIP in seven career starts against Milwaukee.
Jhoulys Chacin will be no math for Scherzer tonight. He is 3-3 with a 5.24 ERA and 1.311 WHIP in seven starts. Chacin is averaging just 4.9 innings per start, so the Nationals should be able to get into Milwaukee’s bullpen early in this one. It’s a sub-par bullpen with a 4.51 ERA on the season.
Scherzer is 15-2 in road games vs. a n NL team with a team batting average of .255 or worse over the last three seasons. The Nationals are 38-17 in Scherzer’s last 55 road starts. The Brewers are 1-4 in Chacin’s last five starts. Bet the Nationals Monday.

The Padres come in feeling good after their walk off grand slam against the Dodgers yesterday. The Mets have dropped three straight and are just 3-8 in their last 11 games overall. And Jacob DeGrom has certainly not been as dominant as he was last year after signing the new big contract. DeGrom is 2-3 with a 3.82 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in six starts this year. Chris Paddack has been the best starter for the Padres. He is 2-1 with a 1.91 ERA and 0.70 WHIP in six starts this season and has been one of the most underrated starters in baseball. He is a dog here again at home Monday. Give me the Padres.
