How badly do the Warriors want some time off? Win here gets them some free time. Portland led last two games by 15-13 points at halftime, lost both; now comes word that Lillard is playing thru separated ribs that happened in Game 2. Lillard/McCollum combined to go 38-108 from floor in first three games— can’t beat Golden State that way. Curry has 73 points the last two games; Green had a triple-double in Game 3. Warriors’ bench was combined +31 in Game 3, and two of their subs are starting now, with Durant/Cousins out. Portland is 3-3 vs spread in last six games as an underdog; they were favored Saturday, but not here.

Monday night comp play on the Over in the Golden State-Portland game from the Moda Center.

2 of the 3 games played in this series have landed Under the total so far, as the Blazers offense has twice been held to under 100 points for the game. I like that to change tonight in front of the home crowd, as Portland knows full well their season is now on the line, and they will have to let it all out tonight if they want to force a 5th game back in Oakland on Wednesday night.

The Blazers have still played Over the total in 5 of their last 8 this postseason, while the Warriors enter this game on a 4-3-1 Over clip their last 8 in the playoffs.

In games played between these teams at the Moda Center, 11 of the last 14 have landed Over the total. Overall, the Over stands at 20-9 the last 29 series meetings, so going to look for the Warriors and the Blazers to trend back towards the Over in this spot tonight in Rip City.

Golden State is averaging 114.5 points per game in the 4 games they have played without Kevin Durant in the lineup, while Portland is still averaging 113.8 points per game for the season. With outputs of 99 points in Saturday's loss, and only 94 points in the first game of the series, the Blazers have some work to do to reach that average tonight. With elimination on the line, I like the Blazers to get into the triple-digit territory tonight.

Game Four lands over between Golden State and Portland.

          2* GOLDEN STATE-PORTLAND OVER

Monday's comp play is the for the Athletics and the Indians to hold Under the total at Progressive Field.

Quick turnaround for these teams, as they played 3 games in Oakland from the 10th through the 12th this month, and all 3 of those games did hold Under the total.

The A's just played their last pair of games in Detroit Under the total, as 3 of their last 4 on their current road swing have held Under the posted price, and 7 of their last 9 (Cleveland series included) have landed Under the total as well.

The Tribe just played their final 3 games over the weekend at home against Baltimore Under the total, as Cleveland has now been Under the posted price in 10 of their last 12 games on the season!

Brett Anderson will get the start for Oakland, and he has enjoyed some nice success against the Indians in his career, as all 12 of his previous innings work in Cleveland have been scoreless. Anderson's career ERA against Cleveland is 0.82 in 5 starts, so do not expect the Tribe getting too much going in tonight's home game.

Carlos Carrasco will count for the home team, and he has not allowed a run to score in any of his last 12 innings pitched this season, and has gone 2-0 with a 2.49 ERA in his home starts this season. Against Oakland, Carrasco owns a career 2.89 ERA, so likewise, do not expect the A's to get too much going offensively against Carrasco.

Season series stands at 3-0 Under thus far, make it 4-0 Under after tonight's 9 innings are contested.

            Oakland-Cleveland Under the total.

            5* OAKLAND-CLEVELAND UNDER

              Play on: A's +167 at 5Dimes

Oakland southpaw starting hurler Anderson, owns a 3-0 mark with an 0.82 ERA and 0.76 WHIP in five career encounters with Cleveland. The trio of Lindor, Santana and Kipnis are a combined 0-for-7 against Anderson. According to my power ranking pitcher vs batting order projections, Anderson still matches up well vs this group and gets my support here tonight vs the Tribe. I know his pitching opponent Carrasco has a streak of 12 consecutive scoreless innings on the line, but it must be noted that the Indians hurler, is 1-5 against the money line in home games after giving up 1 or less earned runs last outing over the last 2 seasons. (Team's Record)
OAKLAND is 31-9 against the money line against AL Central opponents over the last 2 seasons.

                  MLB | Yankees vs Orioles
Play on: Yankees -1½ -123 at betonline

Jack’s Free Pick Monday: New York Yankees -1.5 (-123)
The New York Yankees have won five of their last six to improve to 28-17 on the season. Aaron Boone deserves manager of the year to this point with what he’s been able to do with all these injuries. Now, the Yankees should continue beating up on the lowly Baltimore Orioles.
Baltimore has gone just 2-9 in its last 11 games overall to drop to 15-31 on the season. Eight of those nine losses have come by two runs or more, including a pair of losses to the Yankees in a recent double-header. I’ll back the Yankees on the Run Line today instead of laying -200 on the money line.
J.A. Happ has been at his best on the road this season, going 1-0 with a 1.96 ERA and 0.927 WHIP in three starts away from home. Happ is 8-7 with a 3.29 ERA and 1.191 WHIP in 12 career starts against Baltimore. Andrew Cashner is 0-4 with a 5.22 ERA in his last five starts against New York.
Happ is 10-1 in road games vs. teams who average 0.5 or fewer steals per game over the last two seasons. The Yankees are winning by 3.6 runs per game in this spot. New York is 7-1 in Happ’s last eight road starts. The Orioles are 1-11 in their last 12 games vs. a left-handed starter. Bet the Yankees on the Run Line Monday.

I'll take my chances here with Philadelphia as a road dog against the Cubs in Monday's series opener. This one means a little more than others, as Jake Arrieta will be making his first start since he left Chicago. There's no doubt in my mind that Arrieta will be way up for this game and I expect him to deliver a big time performance.
You also have the Cubs coming off an emotional 6-5 win at Washington on Sunday Night Baseball and a very inconsistent Yu Darvish on the mound. Some might be excited about Darvish's last start, where he had 11/0 K/BB ratio, but he's still 2-3 with a 5.14 ERA and 1.619 WHIP in 9 starts overall.
NL teams with a starter that has a season WHIP of 1.550 to 1.650 are just 9-30 (23%) over the last 5 seasons when that starter is off an outing where he didn't walk a batter. Give me the Phillies +127

Play on: Rangers -144 at betonline

                      Dave’s Monday Free Play:
                      1* on Texas Rangers -144
The Key: The Texas Rangers come in playing well having won 4 o their last 5 while scoring a combined 36 runs during this 5-game stretch. It’s hard to believe the Mariners were 13-2 at one point. They have gone just 10-24 since to fall to 23-26 on the season. And the Rangers have a big advantage on the rubber tonight with Mike Minor, who is 4-3 with a 2.61 ERA in 9 starts, including 2-1 with a 1.88 ERA in 4 home starts. Mike Leake is 3-4 with a 4.00 ERA in 9 starts and 1-2 with a 4.15 ERA in 5 road starts. Minor struck out 13 Mariners in 7 innings of a 15-1 victory on April 27th in his lone start against them this season. Seattle is 1-13 against a starter that strikes out 5 or more batters per start this season. Take Texas.
