Lone Star Park - Race #6 - Post: 5:00pm - Claiming - 7.5 furlongs on the Turf. Purse: $14,000 Class Rating: 76

#8 IQUIQUE (FR) (ML=6/1)
#7 WILLTHERESAWAY (ML=20/1)
#1 SWEETDREAMSTONIGHT (ML=3/1)
#2 PADDY O (ML=4/1)
IQUIQUE (FR) - The rider/conditioner twosome of Wade and Sharp has a strong return on investment together. This thoroughbred coming off a good race in the last month or so is a solid contender in my book. This horse has increased her Equibase speed figures in each of the last two races. That kind of progress is worth taking a look at. WILLTHERESAWAY - The morning line odds on this filly are higher than those of the other entrant from the shedrow of conditioner Willis. Often the longer-priced part of a 'split' entry wins. Don't often see a profitable ROI like +33. This jockey/trainer tandem has done well together over the last year. Have to make this filly a contender; she comes off a sharp effort on May 26th. SWEETDREAMSTONIGHT - I seem to always make money betting Broberg horses on the turf. That barn has a dominant win percent for this distance/surface. PADDY O - I think this filly is ready to run a good one. She's had enough outings since the layoff and should be fit. Peek brings her back again. I propose you stick with this hot filly. Filly tallied a win her last race here on May 11th as a shipper. I think she looks like a winner once again. She has the highest earnings per race. Take a long look at this animal. You have to really like that recent race figure, 74, which is the highest most recent race speed figure of this field.
Vulnerable Contenders: #5 VOLLEY MOLLY (ML=5/2), #6 WITT SEVEN (ML=6/1),
VOLLEY MOLLY - Recorded a most unsatisfactory speed rating last time out in a $17,500 Claiming race on Apr 21st. Not likely to see an improved performance off of that fig. WITT SEVEN - Would have to move up off that fourth place finish last time out to make an impact here. Earned a mediocre speed rating last time out in a $17,500 Claiming race on May 19th. Improbable to see an improved performance off of that figure.
Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: The Turf Man - IQUIQUE (FR) - Horses trained by Sharp have an excellent chance of winning in sprints on the turf. Look for this horse to make a good showing versus these thoroughbreds in this event.
STRAIGHT WAGERS:
Bet on #8 IQUIQUE (FR) to win if you can get at least 9/2 odds
