I know that Hyun-Jin Ryu is not going to keep pitching the way he has been pitching, but I also know that tonight is not the night I want to side against the southpaw who has been on absolute fire!

Ryu is 9-1 for the season with an ERA of 1.35. He has won each of his last 7 decisions, and stands at 7-0 with an ERA of 0.35 over his last 8 starts this year! Against the Angels, Ryu has made 3 starts and stands at 2-0 with a 0.83 ERA, as he has fanned 19 Halos in the 21-plus innings of work versus the other team from Los Angeles.

Those numbers suggest that the Angels will not be getting much going tonight, and the fact they have dropped 5 of their last 7 games heading into this one, and will be facing a Dodgers team that has won their last pair of games, and 9 of their last 11 overall does not bode well for the host Halos to get out of the gate in this set with the win.

The Angels will give the ball to rookie Griffin Canning who is 2-2 in his first season in the big leagues, but pitches this one off of a loss to Oakland in which he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in his 6 innings of work his last time out.

With Ryu in a zone right now, there is no sense in going against him tonight against a team that he has had success in the past against.

Take the Dodgers on the Run Line in their interleague series opener against the Angels in Anaheim on Monday night.

Looking to improve on my 27-15 run with complimentary baseball plays, as I take a peek at the Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies.

I'm listing both pitchers in this one, as I like German Marquez over Yu Darvish.

Marquez steps to the mound tonight ranking second in the National League with 90 2/3 innings pitched, and ninth with 88 strikeouts. And here's the thing, he is going to be out to avenge a horrific loss to these same Cubbies last Wednesday, when they drilled him for a career-high eight runs in a 9-8 loss at Wrigley Field.

But he is better than that, as he's 6-3 on the year, including a perfect 3-0 in May.

In Colorado, with the rarified air, I expect the Rockies to trounce Darvish, who just notched up his seventh straight no-decision on Wednesday, opposing Marquez, after allowing three runs over 5 1/3 innings versus Colorado. The righty is 2-1 with a 3.64 ERA in six road outings this season, but he's also 2-3 with a 4.88 ERA on the year.

I'll take the Rockies and Marquez in revenge.

      3* ROCKIES (Marquez over Darvish)

I'm on a 26-8 winning run with my free baseball plays this season.

My free play for Monday night is the Los Angeles Dodgers on the Run Line in Anaheim against the Angels.

MAKE NOTE: All Run Line/Total plays automatically list pitchers with the starters who are scheduled to go at the time of the wager. But with this game I am not concerned with who goes for either team tonight and want you playing this game on the Run Line regardless. That being said, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to be sure you have action even if one of the pitchers scheduled to start is scratched, by re-wagering the game if that takes place.

The Dodgers roll into this battle of Southern California - not Los Angeles, since the Angels DON'T play in L.A. - after a very strong showing by starting pitcher Walker Buehler, who threw seven innings and gave up zero runs on five hits with nine strikeouts against San Francisco on Sunday. The Dodgers 1-0, and I gave you the Under.

Los Angeles, which is 20-14 on the road this season, leads the National League with an on-base percentage of .340. And quite frankly I don't think the Halos have anyone who contain the hot bats of Cody Bellinger or David Freese.

Bellinger leads the Dodgers with 20 home runs and is batting .355, while Freese is 10-for-25 with five doubles, two home runs and five RBIs over the last 10 games.[

Los Angeles has won 8 of 10 and has outscored foes by 29 runs, while its pitching staff has a stingy 1.40 ERA in that span.

Take the Dodgers on the Run Line in this one.

        4* DODGERS RUN LINE (-1', -115)

          COMPLIMENTARY WINNER

My free play for Monday night is on the Oakland Athletics and Tampa Bay Rays staying under the posted total. We have ourselves an intriguing pitching matchup, and I think it'll be a duel.

IMPORTANT: As you know every single Run Line play and Total wager will automatically list the scheduled starting pitchers at the time of the wager, and I want you to be sure the following pitchers are the registered starters on your ticket when making your wager: Tanner Anderson and Charlie Morton. If one or both of these pitchers is not going, this is a no-play.

Anderson arrived to the Athletics after posting a 6.26 ERA in 11 games (10 starts) at Triple-A Las Vegas. I never really make a big deal about bad Triple-A numbers, because if the kid made it to the show, there's usually a reason behind the high ERA. For instance, he may have been working on a specific pitch and teams get used to seeing that. He could have been working on mechanics or command, and was just firing fastballs in the zone.

Bottom line, after making six relief appearances for the Pirates in 2018, Anderson will be making his first career Major League start, and he will have his best stuff working tonight.

With Morton, we have a Cy Young candidate who is 7-0 with a 2.30 ERA this season. This marks his 14th start of the season, and steps to the mound at Tropicana Field after throwing 7.0 innings in each of his last two starts, including a scoreless outing against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday, when he had eight strikeouts and zero walks.

Look for these two to battle and the number to stay low.

          2* UNDER Athletics-Rays (Anderson-Morton)
