    COMPLIMENTARY WINNER

It never hurts to play underdogs, so my free play is on the Kansas City Royals against the Minnesota Twins. And don't bother listing pitchers, it won't matter. I'm certainly not playing this game because of Glenn Sparkman.

I know Twins right-hander Jake Odorizzi leads the American League with a 1.92 ERA, but he isn't invincible. He can be beat. And this is as good a time as any for his 9-0 run to come to an end.

Why? Because Odorizzi has always struggled against Kansas City. He is 2-4 with a 4.37 ERA in nine appearances and eight career starts against the Royals.

I won't list him either, because I want this price no matter what happens, and in the event of a scratch.

Kansas City will be led offensively by Jorge Soler, who has a team-high 34 extra base hits and is batting .243 this season, and Cheslor Cuthbert, who has gone 10-for-32 with a double, two home runs and eight RBIs in his last 10 outings.

Big dog means a big collection. Take the Royals in this one, as they catch the Twins off guard.

Saturday free play is the Twins on the Run Line over the Royals.

Minnesota was able to open their weekend set with their division-rival by blanking them 2-0 over the full 9 innings last night, and in so doing made it a 7-1 run over the Royals in the last 8 series meetings played between the teams at Target Field.

The Twins are cooking once again, as Minny has won their last pair of games, and 6 of their last 8 games overall. 4 of their last 5 wins in this stretch have come by at least 2 runs or more.

Meanwhile, the Royals are on a 3-10 skid their last 13 games, and 9 of those 10 losses have come by at least 2 runs or more.

As you can see, a win tonight by Minnesota is very likely, and a win by 2 runs or better also is looking pretty damn good.

Glenn Sparkman will make his 4th straight start for the Royals, and stands at 1-2 for the season thus far. In his 4 career relief appearances against Minnesota, he has allowed 6 runs over 7 innings for an 0-2 mark.

Jake Odorizzi will counter with his 9 straight wins, and a 1.92 ERA. He has allowed a grand total of just 4 runs over his last 47-plus innings pitched, so it is not very likely the Royals will be getting the runs they need to keep this game from being another blowout loss.

      Twins on the Run Line.
