3-Unit Play. Take #979 Texas (+110) over Cincinnati (7 p.m., Saturday, June 15)
Texas easily won the first game of this series and I think that they will be able to do it again here today. The Reds are just 3-7 in their last 10 games and they are just 29-62 in their last 91 interleague games. Texas is 5-2 in its last seven road games and they are going with Mike Minor tonight. He has just a 2.52 ERA on the season and has been very consistent for this team. Cincinnati is starting Tanner Roark and he is not consistent at all. That has been his problem dating back to his time with Washington. Roark has lost four of five starts and has given up eight runs and three home runs in his last two starts over 11 innings. Texas has seven more wins than the Reds on the season and are the better team. I like them to get another win here in the underdog role.
4-Unit Play. Take #974 Minnesota (-1.5, -130) over Kansas City (7 p.m., Saturday, June 15)
It was another win for the Twins last night. That is now four of five and six of eight. The Twins are now 37-15 in their last 52 games and they are 52-22 in their last 74 home games. The Twins are going with ace Jake Odorizzi in this one. They are 10-3 in his 13 starts this year and 13-3 in his last 16 starts overall. Minnesota is 12-2 in his last 14 home starts and I think he will be very good again today. The Twins are 7-1 in their last eight home games against the Royals. Kansas City is just 20-47 in its last 67 games and 15-43 in their last 58 road games. Go with the Twins here.

Glenn Sparkman is 1-2 with a 3.58 ERA this season including an 8.22 ERA in four appearances (one start) on the road. Jake Odorizzi is 9-2 with a 1.92 ERA this season and he has a .76 ERA in his last eight starts. The Twins are 10-3 when Odorizzi starts and the Royals are 1-3 when Sparkman starts. The Twins are 30-9 as the favorite while the Royals are 16-41 as the underdog.

Clayton Richard will be making his fifth start of the year and he’s 0-2 with a 7.04 ERA in his first four. Framber Valdez is 2-2 with a 2.73 ERA this season and in his only start he gave up one run in seven innings. Houston has the third highest OPS in the league against lefties while the Blue Jays have the fifth worst. Vladdy will most likely be out of the lineup after being hit by a pitch in the hand yesterday, and the Astros are 24-9 as the home favorite.

Eric Lauer has a 21.0 ERA in two career starts in Coors Field including a three-inning, eight run outing earlier this season. On the road, he is 2-2 with a 6.84 ERA in five starts. German Marquez has been a little inconsistent, but he gave up two runs in 5.2 IP in his outing against the Padres this season. The Rockies have scored the fourth most runs in the league against lefties and they’re 11-4 when Marquez starts.

Minor hasn’t given up more than three runs since April 22nd, and he is productive on the road with a 2.86 ERA in seven starts. The Rangers have been playing well recently, take the Rangers.

The wind is blowing out again in Oakland tonight, and the Mariners' bats have heated up again. They've scored nine runs in three of their last five games, and nine of their last 10 games have gone Over, including their last six. The Mariners will start an opener and then bring in Wade LeBlanc, who has a chunky 5.31 ERA and has seen most of his games get Over. Over is the play.

Eric Lauer has made two starts at Colorado, and both were awful losses. Last season he gave up six earned runs in 3.0 innings in an 8-0 loss. Last month he gave up eight earned runs in 3.0 innings in a 12-2 loss. All five of Lauer's road starts have gone Over, aided by a 6.84 ERA in those starts. The Padres' bats came out strong last night in a 16-12 win to end their five-game losing streak. Over is the play today.

Rotation #979-980
Rangers +105 over Reds
Minor/Roark
I like the Rangers here today because Mike Minor has been the better starting pitcher this year and the Rangers have the better of the two offenses. Cincinnati has struggled with the bats as of late and I expect similar results to last nights game. The Rangers Bullpen is suspect, but I think they should have the game in hand by the time Minor departs. Take the Rangers.
The Twins will start their ace, Jake Odorizzi. Odorizzi has been amazing this year, posting a record of 9-2 with a 1.92 ERA, a 0.967 WHIP, 22 walks and 78 strikeouts over 74.1 innings of work this season. Odorizzi won his third straight start and is 9-0 in his last 10 after picking up the win over the Tigers on the road in his last start Sunday. He threw six innings, allowing a run on five hits with one walk and eight strikeouts in a 12-2 Minnesota victory. Odorizzi is 3-0 with a 0.52 ERA, a 0.69 WHIP, three walks and 26 strikeouts over 17.1 innings in his last three starts. He is even good enough that I firmly believe he could pitch a complete game, especially against the Royals offense.
For the Royals, Glenn Sparkman takes the mound for his 13th appearance, his fifth start of the season. Sparkman has not been very impressive this season, going 1-2 with a 3.58 ERA. Sparkman is 0-1 with a 4.85 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP, two walks and four strikeouts over 13 innings in his last three starts. He is 0-2 with a 6.43 ERA, a 2.571 WHIP, six walks and six strikeouts over seven innings in four career appearances, all in relief, against the Twins. Sparkman is 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA, a 3.20 WHIP, six walks and six strikeouts over five innings in three career outings at Target Field.
The Royals continue to be terrible and with a loss on Saturday, they are now 15-43 in their last 58 road games....
....Twins are 7-1 in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400...
....Royals are 0-4 in Sparkman’s last 4 starts following a team loss in their previous game....

This is such a dumb line and game it's absurd...wish we could do something more worthwhile or valuable...searching the only alternative line I found was -4.5...so I took a little bit of that....

Take what Vegas is telling you....rule number 1 I preach here with my MLB Plays!
It didn't get to the point of a full on monster play...as I thought it might...but the Marlins have NOT been a favorite of -140 over a team with a better record than their opponents with the late Jose Fernandez NOT on the mound since.....2012!!! That is almost closer in time to their last World Series ring than it is to today! Didn't quite get to the fever pitch level of -140...but we get Pablo Lopez on the mound for the incredibly hard to back Fish. He has a sub-4 xFIP, leads the Marlins in WAR with 1.3 already and has a very nice changeup and his fair share of bad luck...most notably with 37 totals run scored in support so far this season in his 13 starts!
Fish win this in a game Vegas basically told us who was going to win when the line dropped. Pirates call up starter aside from all the juicy aspects!
