They finally broke out of the funk they were in, as the Phillies crossed the dish 13 times last night as they ended a 7 game losing streak that saw them score just 15 runs combined in those 7 losses.
I like the runs to continue to flow again tonight, as the Phils have now played their last pair of games, and 3 of their last 5 games Over the total, while the Mets come into this game on a 5-2-1 Over run their last 8 games contested.
Walker Lockett will make his second start in place of the injured Noah Syndergaard. His first start ended up seeing 6 runs cross in just over 2 innings pitched in a game against the Cubs that landed Over the total.
Jake Arrieta's season ERA is still over 4 even though he just worked 6 innings of one run ball against the Nationals in his last start. The Over has cashed in 2 of his last 3 assignments as well.
After 20 combined runs last night, I don't think the teams will pile on as many runs tonight, but they should combine for enough to play Over the total once again in Philly on Tuesday night.

My free play for tonight is on the Boston Red Sox on the run line, against the visiting Chicago White Sox.
Chicago is mired in a three-game slide, and the Red Sox are gearing up for a road trip to London this weekend. The defending World Series champs will play the New York Yankees in two games, so the focus will be on gaining momentum before hopping across the pond.
The White Sox, who are 16-23 on the road, lost a tough one last night, 6-5. That could make for low morale, as they come close but couldn't secure the dub.
Boston has won 7 of 10 thanks to a bruising offense that is hitting .300 in that span, and has outscored foes by 21 runs. They'll victimize the White Sox staff that has a 5.34 ERA over its last 10 games.
Take the Red Sox on the Run Line.

Tuesday's comp play will be for the Rays and Twins to open their set at Target Field with a few runs being scored.
When these teams played their first series in Tampa at the end of May, they wound up going 3-0-1 Over the total in the 4 games contested. Overall, the teams are on a 7-1-2 Over run the last 10 times they have faced each other.
The Rays come to town having played Over the posted total in 3 of their last 5 games played, and starter Blake Snell is coming off a shelling absorbed in the Bronx against the Yankees, as he lasted just one-third of an inning with 2 hits, 4 walks and 6 runs to his credit! That marked his second start in a row that has played Over the total, and it also marked the third time in his last 4 starts that the Over has cashed in.
The Twins counter with Kyle Gibson who has seen his ERA balloon to 5.71 over his last 3 starts, with 2 of those 3 starts landing Over the posted total. Gibson was on the hill for the one series meeting that resulted in the push in the last series contested between the teams. Meanwhile, this will be Snell's first start of the season against the heavy-hitting Minnesota attack.
Look for the runs to add up to an Over in this Tuesday opener.

Now 35-20 with my MLB freebies after nailing a pair of totals this weekend, then losing with the San Francisco Giants last night. Tonight I want you back on a total, as I love the Under in the Seattle-Milwaukee game.
Since every MLB wager on a run line or total auto-lists pitchers, I want you to be sure the two pitchers on your ticket, when making this play, are Marco Gonzales and Zach Davies. If they are not the pitchers of record when making your play, disregard this play.
Gonzales, who supplanted Felix Hernandez as the Mariners' Opening Day starter this season, has gone 3-0 with a 2.33 ERA in his last three starts. It's been a refreshing change after a rough stretch that saw him go 0-6 with a sky-high 7.79 ERA over his previous seven outings.
This will be his first time facing Milwaukee since 2017, when he was with the Cardinals, but he'll be well familiar with the dimensions of Miller Park.
Davies, meanwhile, is coming off his worst start of the season, lasting just 2 2/3-inning outing at San Diego, where he was charged with a season-high five runs on a season-high nine hits. Davies, who has never faced the M's, is 7-1 this year with a 3.06 ERA, and will be out to avenge the game in San Diego, with a stellar showing at home.
Pitchers duel ensues, play this one low.

My free play for Tuesday is on the Houston Astros over the Pittsburgh Pirates. With the price we're seeing on this play, I'm insisting you play this one on the run line.
IMPORTANT: As you know every single Run Line play and Total wager will automatically list the scheduled starting pitchers at the time of the wager, and I want you to be sure the following pitchers are the registered starters on your ticket when making your wager: Gerrit Cole and Trevor Williams. If one or both of these pitchers is not going, this is a no-play.
I think the Astros, one of the hardest hitting teams in baseball, will chase Williams early. The Pittsburgh right-hander just gave up seven runs on Wednesday, in what was his return from the injured list. He did settle down to retire the final nine hitters he faced, but now he heads into humid Houston, and I don't trust this spot whatsoever, even if he's shaken off the rust from a month-long stint on the injured list.
The better pitcher in this one is Cole, who will face his former team for the first time since arriving in Houston. The fiery right-hander spent his first five MLB seasons with Pittsburgh, and rolls into the series-opener with a Major League-leading 148 strikeouts. The Bucs are a decent hitting team, but they're not going to solve Cole, who will be geared up for a very emotional start.
Take the Astros on the Run Line.

MLB | Mets vs Phillies
Play on: Phillies -140 at 5Dimes
1* Free MLB Pick on Philadelphia Phillies -140
The Phillies snapped a 7-game losing streak in style. Philadelphia exploded for 13 runs on 19 hits to take the series opener against the Mets. I'm confident they add to that victory on Tuesday, as they will have quite the edge on the mound.
Phillies will turn to Jake Arrieta, who is coming off back-to-back quality starts for the first time since May. Arrieta first held the Dbacks to 3 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings and followed that up by holding the Nationals to just 1 run on 2 hits in 6 innings.
Mets will counter with Walker Lockett, who was called up last week to start at Chicago and ended up giving up 6 runs on 5 hits in a mere 2 1/3 innings. Keep in mind Lockett made 3 starts last year and allowed 14 runs on 18 hits and 9 walks in 13 innings. Take Philadelphia!Comment
