MLB | Yankees vs Red Sox
Play on: Yankees -139 at Pinnacle

Take the New York Yankees with the money-line versus the Boston Red Sox listing both starting pitchers Masahiro Tanaka and Rick Porcello. New York (52-28) has won eleven of their last twelve games after their 8-7 win over Toronto on Thursday. The Yankees have won 21 of their last 27 games when priced as a money-line favorite in the -110 to -150 range. New York has also won 11 of their last 14 games with the Total set at 10 or higher. Boston (44-38) has lost 3 of their last 4 games with the Total set at 11 or higher. The Red Sox have also lost 4 of their last 5 games with Porcello pitching with four days of rest. Boston is the technical home team — but this game is being played in London rather than Fenway Park. Take the New York Yankees with the money-line listing both starting pitchers. Best of luck — Frank.

          MLB | SEA vs HOU
          Play on: UNDER 9½ -116

The MLB Comp Play is on the under in the Seattle at Houston game. This game fits a solid totals system we use that goes under in the first 3 months of the season for home favorites in game 2 or later of a series if both teams scored 2 or less runs in their last game. These two have gone under in 6 of 7 here and Verlander goes for the Stros and he has gone under in 3 of 4 at home vs Seattle and 6 of 7 overall at home with a 2.30 Era. Seattle has Kikuchi going and Houston has gone under 14 of 22 vs a lefty. We look for another lower scoring game here tonight. Play this one Under. For the MLB Free pick. Play Seattle and Houston under the total. RV- GC Sports

              BOB VALENTINO

Saturday comp play comes from London, England where the Yankees and the Red Sox will do battle. I will play the first of two games to go Over the posted total.

This totals release has everything to do with the dimensions of the diamond these A.L. East rivals will be playing on. Yes, there is a ton of foul ground with the layout of this field, but there is also some very short distances to travel for the baseball to leave the yard in fair territory, as down the left-field and right-field line the distance is just 330', while to hit one out in dead center the distance is just 385'.

The Yankees have homered in every game this year, well, it's actually 29 straight games, but it sure seems like the Bronx Bombers homer in every game. That being the case, look for New York to treat the fans to a display of home runs this weekend.

It will start with today's game against Rick Porcello who allowed 5 runs on 9 hits in under 5 innings of work versus the Yankees back on June 1st. Procello is just 1-3 with an ERA of 4.75 in 4 starts in the month of June,

Masahiro Tanaka will get the ball for the Yankees, and he has a penchant for giving up the long-ball, so count on Boston bopping a couple out against the Yankee hurler. Tanaka's career ERA against the Sox is 4.35.

With the field pretty much a band-box, go Over in Yankees-Red Sox London Calling, Part One.

              5* N.Y. YANKEES-BOSTON OVER

                      Saturday, June 29

The Reds host the Cubs, and they continue to be a thorn in the side of their National League Central Division rivals. Cincinnati doubled up Chicago in the series opener on Friday night by a 6-3 score, and to make matters worse the Cubs saw LHP Cole Hamels check out in the first inning due to an injury. The Reds have picked up five wins in seven tries against the Cubs so far this season, including 3-1 in four games at home.

The Cubs roll out LHP Jose Quintana against RHP Luis Castillo in Game 2 of the series. The Cubs have dropped four in a row on the road and six straight overall. They're also 1-5 in Quintana's past six against teams with a losing record, while going 0-4 across his past four NL Central battles. The Cubs are also 2-9 in the past 11 road outings, while going 2-8 in the past 10 games vs. RHP on the road. In addition, the Cubs are 5-16 across their past 21 road games against teams with a winning home mark.

The Reds have rattled off home victories in five straight, while going 7-2 in the past nine outings against teams with a winning overall record. Cincinnati has posted five in a row at home against teams with a winning mark, too. As far as Castillo is concerned, the Reds are 14-6 over his past 20 home outings, and 4-1 in his past five at Great American Ball Park agaisnt teams with a winning mark. Cincinnati has picked up five wins in the past six meetings in this series, while going 7-1 in the past eight at GABP vs. the Cubs. The Reds are 5-2 over Castillo's past seven starts against the Cubbies, while the Cubs are just 1-4 in Quintana's past five starts against the Reds.

As far as the total is concerned, the under is 5-1 in Chicago's past six overall and 5-1 in their past six on the road vs. RHP. The under is also 4-1 in the past five for Chicago against divisional foes. The under has hit in seven of the past 10 road outings against teams with a losing overall mark. The under is 4-0 in the past four at home for the Reds, while going 22-6 in their past 28 vs. LHP. The under is also 16-5 in the past 21 starts by Castillo, while going 5-0 in his past five at home against clubs with a winning overall mark. The under is also 7-3 in the past 10 home outings overall by the Cincinnati ace. However, in this series, the over is 6-2 in Q's past eight starts against the Reds, while going 27-12-4 in the past 43 meetings overall in this series.

In late-night action, the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels square off in a southpaw battle. The A's use LHP Brett Anderson against LHP Tyler Skaggs of the Halos. The A's have won five of the past six games on the road, while winning eight of the past 11 games overall and seven of the past 10 against teams with a winning record. They're also 4-1 in the past five road contests vs. LHP. They're also 5-2 in Anderson's past seven starts overall, and 4-1 in the past five on the road. The Angels are 4-1 in the past five overall, and 5-1 in the past six games at home. They're also 5-0 in Skaggs' past five starts against a team with a winning record. However, they're 3-9 in the past 12 home game vs. LHP, and they're 2-5 in the past seven against AL West foes with Skaggs on the bump.

In this series, the A's are 1-5 in the past six road outings against the Halos, while the Angels are 0-4 in his past four at home against the A's and 1-4 in the past five overall against Oakland, so something's gotta give. The under is 2-0-2 in the past four road outings by Anderson against the Angels and 3-1-2 in his past six outings overall against the Halos. The under is 7-3 in the past 10 starts by Skaggs against the A's, too.

                      Weather Report
The Indians and Orioles will be facing a 10-13 mph wind blowing out to right field for Saturday's afternoon action. The Braves and Mets will be experiencing the same conditions at Citi Field. Those will be the only spots where weather can affect the results.

                      Sunday, June 30

In Sunday's action, the Phillies have RHP Jake Arrieta against RHP Trevor Richards of the Marlins. The Phillies are 5-2 across the past seven starts by Arrieta. For the Marlins, they're just 2-8 in the past 10 home outings by Richards, while going 7-19 across the past 26 starts overall. The Marlins are also 1-7 in the past eight starts by Richards against the NL East, while going 1-6 in the past seven against teams with a winning overall mark.

The over has hit in five of the past six starts by Arrieta against the Marlins, while going 3-1-1 in his past five starts overall. The under is 11-5-1 in the past 17 starts on the road by Arrieta, however. The over is 6-2-1 in the past nine home games for the Marlins, while going 4-1-1 in the past six home outings by Richards and 3-1-1 in the past five against NL East foes. The over is 8-3-2 in the past 13 by Richards against teams with a winning overall mark, too. In this series the over is 5-1 in Arrieta's past six against the Marlins, although the under is 4-1 in the past five battles in this series.

The Rockies snapped a 12-game losing streak to the Dodgers in Friday's game at Coors Field. L.A. will use LHP Clayton Kershaw on Sunday evening against RHP Jon Gray of the Rockies. Los Angeles has posted an 84-27 record across Kershaw's past 111 starts, and they're 37-15 in the past 52 starts away from home. They're also a sparkling 41-10 in his past 51 assignments inside the NL West. For the Rockies, they're 6-1 in Gray's past seven starts and 4-0 in his past four inside the division. They're also 4-1 in his past five home outings and 6-2 in the past eight against teams with a winning overall record.

As far as head-to-head, the Dodgers are 10-1 in Kershaw's past 11 outings against the Rockies at Coors Field, and 27-6 across his past 33 starts overall vs. Colorado. The Rockies are 5-2 in the past seven home starts by Gray against the Dodgers. The under is 6-0 in the past six home outings by Gray against the Dodgers, and 8-2 in his past 10 overall vs. L.A. The under is 4-0 in Kershaw's past four road assignments in Denver, while going 7-1 in his past eight starts overall against Colorado.

In the Sunday Night Baseball game, the Braves and Mets square off at Citi Field, and it's an attractive pitching matchup with LHP Max Fried and RHP Noah Syndergaard locking horns. The Braves are a perfect 5-0 across Fried's past five outings, 5-0 in his past five on the road and 5-0 in his past five starts on a Sunday, too. The Braves are also 5-2 in the past seven vs. NL East foes. The Mets are an impressive 11-5 in Syndergaard's past 16 home outings, while going 7-2 in his past nine at home against teams with a winning overall record, too. The Braves have cashed in six of the past eight at home vs. LHP, too.

                      Weather Report
On Sunday, the winds will be blowing from left to right at Camden Yards at a 12-15 mph clip. All of the other day games will have variable winds and no chance of precipition, so enjoy.

However, the Sunday night game will feature a stiff wind of 14-17 mph blowing in from the left-center field power alley.

MLB Game Preview - New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox
                        Kyle Markus

The New York Yankees are finally in better health and threatening to run away with the American League East Division. The Boston Red Sox have been up and down this season but still have the type of talent to compete for the World Series title. Boston is going to have to compete for a wild card berth into the playoffs unless it can manage to gain some ground on New York in the division, and a head-to-head matchup this weekend would be a good time to start.

The Yankees have a dominant lineup and have been the better team all year long so they will be confident they can capture at least one of these contests. Boston should be pushing hard for the sweep. The teams are facing off in London, which certainly adds an extra wrinkle to the contests.

This MLB series between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox will be held at London Stadium in London, England on Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th, 2019. The Saturday game will be nationally televised on FOX and the Sunday matchup will be nationally televised on ESPN.

                        Odds Analysis

The Yankees enter this series with a record of 52-28 on the season. They have won nine of their past 10 games to open up a big lead on both the Rays and the Red Sox in the A.L. East. New York has the second-best record in the American League behind only the Twins.

The Red Sox are 44-38 on the year. They have been scuffling for much of the season but their run-differential of plus-54 portends a nice run at some point. Boston’s most likely path to the postseason is a wild card berth because the Yankees are a great team with nine-game division lead on the Red Sox.

                        Probable Pitchers

The Saturday starting pitching matchup is expected to feature New York’s Masahiro Tanaka against Boston’s Rick Porcello. Tanaka has a record of 5-5 with a 3.21 ERA this season. He is one of the most dependable veteran starters in the majors and knows how to navigate tough lineups like Boston’s. Porcello is 5-7 with a 4.52 ERA on the year. He has better stuff than shown but has lacked consistency this season. Porcello gave up five earned runs in six innings last time out to the Blue Jays.

Boston is scheduled to send left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez to the hill on Sunday. He is 8-4 with a 4.87 ERA on the season. Like Porcello, Rodriguez has traditionally been better than this and Boston is hoping for both to turn it around in this series. The Yankees have yet to identify a scheduled starter for the Sunday matchup.

                        Injury Report

It’s amazing that the Yankees have this good of a record considering they were without star sluggers Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge for a long period due to injuries. Both recently returned but now Stanton is back on the injured list with a knee injury. Even without him, the Yankees deploy a formidable lineup that includes star hitters like Gleyber Torres, Gary Sanchez and the recently acquired Edwin Encarnacion.

The Yankees have a lineup that is downright scary, and they are setting records for the number of home runs hit this season. New York’s offense is capable of lighting up any opposing pitcher, especially now with Judge back in the middle of it. Even the absence of a star like Stanton won’t slow this group down.
