Fresh off the All-Star break, the Houston Astros take on the Texas Rangers as our only game of the day, and boy is it a good one. Framber Valdez (3-4 4.57 ERA) gets the start for the Astros and will go up against Lance Lynn (11-4 3.91 ERA) of the Rangers. Don’t let these numbers fool you. The Astros are the better team, and Valdez has been solid throughout most of the season. His numbers have been inflated due to two rough outings.

Once we reach the bullpens, this game should be put to bed as the Astros have the fifth-best bullpen in efficiency compared to the Rangers ranked 20th. Texas is in a slump right now, going 2-6 SU over their last eight games, while the Astros are 7-1 SU in their last eight. Houston is also 4-1 SU in their last five games against Texas.
