I'll take my chances here with the Cubs at home against the Reds. We cashed in on Chicago in their 8-3 win on Sunday, as the Cubs secured a sweep of the Pirates in their first series back from the All-Star break. I look for Chicago to keep it rolling behind starter Kyle Hendricks, who is 4-1 with a 1.65 ERA and 0.878 WHIP in 7 home starts. Hendricks has faced Cincinnati twice this season and both times was sharp, allowing just 4 runs on 9 hits with 16 strikeouts in 14 innings. Cubs are 18-5 in their last 23 at home as a favorite of -125 to -175 and 17-4 in their last 21 at home after a game where the bullpen didn't allow a run. Give me Chicago -142!

Fried pitched 6 shutout innings on May 17th in his lone start against the Brewers this season. The Braves are 21-8 in their last 29 road games. The Braves are 5-1 in Fried’s last 6 road starts. I won with Chicago 'under' the total yesterday. Now the Sox face the Royals and I'm expecting another relatively well-pitched affair. Fresh off a scoreless inning at the All Star Game, Giolito gets the call for the ChiSox. He's 6-2 with a 2.72 ERA on the road. He's also 3-0 in four starts vs. the Royals this season. All four produced nine or fewer combined runs. The last three all produced seven or less, each staying below the total. In fact, his most recent start against KC resulted in a 2-0 final, Giolito recording 11 K's through 7 2/3 shutout innings. Junis closed out the first half with a strong start vs. Washington. He allowed two runs through seven complete innings. Junis has also allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his past three starts vs. Chicago. One of those was a h2h matchup vs. Giolito, last September. That one finished with a 4-3 final. Consider the Under.

We are getting the Houston Astros pretty cheap tonight against the Los Angeles Angels. It’s worth noting that Mike Trout had to leave after two innings yesterday with right calf tightness and there’s a good chance the Angels won’t have the best player in baseball today.
The Astros will use reliever Josh James as an opener and then turn to Framber Valdez, who has struggled in the first inning this season, so the move makes sense. And Valdez is 2-1 with a 1.69 ERA in three career appearances against the Angels, including two starts.
Griffin Canning is 3-5 with a 4.43 ERA in 12 starts this season for the Angels. He has already allowed 13 homers in just 65 innings pitched. Canning is coming off a disastrous start against the Rangers, giving up 6 earned runs and 10 base runners in 3 1/3 innings.
The Astros are 41-14 in their last 55 vs. AL West opponents. Houston is 42-19 in the last 61 meetings, including 21-7 in the last 28 meetings in Los Angeles. Bet the Astros Monday.
