          MLB | Phillies vs Pirates
Play on: Phillies -105 at 5Dimes

10* FREE MLB PICK (Phillies -105)
I'll take my chances here with the Phillies kicking off their series at Pittsburgh with a win. Philadelphia secured a split with LA at home thanks to a 7-6 win on Thursday. I look for the offense to put up another big number here against Pirates starter Jordan Lyles, who has an ugly 5.16 ERA and 1.400 WHIP in 15 starts overall and has allowed 14 runs on 14 hits and 5 walks in his last 2 starts, which only spans 4 2/3 innings. Phillies send out the streaky Jake Arrieta, who is off a really strong outing against a red-hot Nationals team, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits in 5 innings. Pirates also come in having lost 5 of 6 and are hitting just .214 as a team in their last 7. Give me the Phillies -105!

            MLB | Rockies vs Yankees
            Play on: Yankees -1½ -125 at 5Dimes

            Dave’s Friday Free Play:
            1* on New York Yankees -1.5 (-125)
The Key: The Yankees have won 3 straight all by 4 runs or more and that streak will continue Friday against the struggling Colorado Rockies. The Rockies are 2-11 in their last 13 games overall and 9 of those losses have come by multiple runs. Kyle Freeland won’t be able to stop the bleeding. Freeland is 2-6 with a 7.39 ERA and 1.61 WHIP in 13 starts this year, including 0-1 with a 13.91 ERA and 2.46 WHIP in his last 3 outings. J.A. Happ is 4-0 with a 3.83 ERA in 7 lifetime starts against the Rockies. Take New York on the Run Line.

              MLB | Cardinals vs Reds
Play on: Cardinals -103 at 5Dimes

1* Free MLB Pick on St Louis Cardinals -103
I really like the value here with St. Louis as a small road favorite against the Reds. The Cardinals continued their strong play out of the All-Star break with a 7-4 win in Thursday's series opener against Cincinnati.
The Cardinals' offense scored at least 5 runs for the 4th time in their last 5 games, and are in a prime spot to say hot at the plate. Reds will send out the struggling Tyler Mahle, who has a 7.54 ERA and 1.814 WHIP in his last 3 starts. Mahle has a 5.87 ERA and 1.696 WHIP in 3 career starts against St Louis.
Cardinals will send out veteran Adam Wainwright, who looked refreshed in his first start after the break, as he was working on nearly two weeks of rest. Wainwright allowed just 4 hits with 7 K's in 7 shutout innings and now has a 1.93 ERA and 1.071 WHIP in his last 3 starts.
Cardinals are 41-18 in Wainwright's last 59 road starts vs a team with a losing record and 5-1 in their last 6 vs a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. Take St Louis!

The Cardinals are coming on strong since the All-Star Break. They have gone 5-1 in their last six games overall. The Reds have gone the other direction, losing three straight and going 2-7 in their last nine games overall. Adam Wainwright comes in pitching well with a 1.93 ERA in his last three starts. Tyler Mahle is 2-10 with a 4.92 ERA in 18 starts this season for the Reds, including 0-2 with a 7.54 ERA and 1.81 WHIP in his last three starts. Mahle is 1-2 with a 5.87 ERA and 1.70 WHIP in three previous starts against St. Louis. Give me the Cardinals.

                  Play on: UNDER 10 +100

Jack’s Free Pick Friday: Blue Jays/Tigers UNDER 10
This is a very high total for two of the worst teams in baseball on the Blue Jays and Tigers. And a big reason why both teams are so poor is due to their lackluster offenses, especially in Detroit’s case. The Tigers are scoring just 3.7 runs per game overall and 3.3 runs per game at home. The Blue Jays are scoring 4.3 runs per game overall.
Marcus Stroman has been Toronto’s best starter this season. He is 5-10 with a 3.25 ERA in 19 starts this season, including 3-4 with a 2.98 ERA in eight road starts. He is also 1-1 with a 2.48 ERA and 0.862 WHIP in four career starts against the Tigers.
Jordan Zimmerman is certainly having a poor season, which is probably why this total is so high. However, Zimmerman has owned the Blue Jays, going 2-1 with a 2.50 ERA and 0.959 WHIP in five career starts against them. That includes a start in 2019 in which he pitched 7 shutout innings in a 2-0 Detroit victory on March 28th.
The Blue Jays are 11-2 UNDER when revenging a loss as a home favorite this season. Toronto is 15-5 UNDER after scoring one run or less in a loss to a division opponent over the last two years. The UNDER is 8-2 in Blue Jays last 10 games overall. The UNDER is 23-8-3 in Stroman’s last 34 starts after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game. The UNDER is 5-0 in the last five meetings. Bet the UNDER in this game Friday.

                        Play on: UNDER 8½ -114

Look for Houston players to be really unhappy, having arrived home around sunrise this morning from Orange County, CA after a night game in Anaheim. At least starter Justin Verlander (11-4, 2.98) will be rested having flow home earlier, but he might have ornery and tired teammates. With Mike Minor (8-4, 2.73) taking the ball for the Rangers and having an outstanding year, all these components come together to lower the total from 8.5 to 8. There are good reasons to choose either side, still, Texas is 11-3 UNDER on Friday's (mostly series openers) and Verlander is 16-3 UNDER when the total is 8 to 8.5.

                                Jack Brayman

Let's roll with a total for tonight's complimentary winner, as I like the Keystone State battle to run high, when the Philadelphia Phillies visit the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park.

Since every MLB wager on a run line or total auto-lists pitchers, I want you to be sure the two pitchers on your ticket, when making this play, are Jake Arrieta and Jordan Lyles. If they are not the pitchers of record when making your play, disregard this play.

There's nothing to major to elaborate on here, as it comes down to a pair of struggling pitchers in an in-state rivalry, and the fact we're going to see the lineups come alive.

Philly hands the ball to Arrieta, who is doing his best to outlast the season, despite pitching with a bone spur in his right elbow. He looked alright Sunday, when he allowed one run in five innings against the Washington Nationals. Problem is, he lost velocity after the third inning and the Pirates will have that scouted.

They may not be right the first time through the lineup, but I can see them lighting things up the second time around, especially without his cutter being used any longer. The Phils have gone over in six of Arrieta's last eight starts.

Bryce Harper and the rest of the lineup will look to attack Lyles, who is mired in an ugly seven-start stretch during that has seen him post a 10.13 ERA. He just gave up seven runs on four hits and four walks while recording only two outs Saturday against the Cubs, and now he faces a scrappy Phillies lineup that is looking to build momentum while making a run in the National League East. The Bucs have gone high in four of Lyles' last five at PNC, while they've soared past the number in 25 of their last 30 at home.

                                Play this one OVER tonight.

                                4* OVER Phillies-Pirates (Arrieta-Lyles)
