        MLB | Cubs vs Mets
Play on: Mets -105 at betonline

The MLB comp Play is on the NY. Mets at 7:10 eastern. The Mets have lost 3 straight here but should bounce back against a Cubs team that has lost 26 of 38 on the road, 8 of 10 on Tuesdays, 6 of 7 vs winning teams and the last 6 vs N.L East teams.. NY has won 24 of 29 vs a righty and 11 of 13 at home vs rightys. The Mets are 6-1 1 on Tuesdays and have won both of M. Stromans home starts since the trade.. Darvish is 1-8 on the road and has lost 6 of 7 with 5 days rest. He is 1-3 vs the Mets. For our Database system we see that home favorites off a home loss that scored 4 or less runs are 12-0 if the total is 8 or higher and the opponent scored 5 or more runs in a home dog loss with 1 or no errors since 2004. Look for the Mets to take the opener, For the MLB free pick. Make it the Mets. See the system below. Rob V- Golden Contender Sports

          MLB | Cardinals vs Brewers
Play on: Brewers -140 at betonline

          Brewers ML
On the mound for the Cards is Miles MIKOLAS. He is 7-13 with a 4.43 ERA. He has allowed 5 earned runs in each of his last three starts and is winless in his last five outings. He’ll be taking on Adrian Houser who is 6-5 with a 3.62 ERA. He's making his 2nd start against the Cards after holding them to 3 runs and striking out 6 in a road win last Wednesday.
Yelich is starting to heat up again and I expect him and the other Milwaukee bats to carry the Brew Crew to victory on Tuesday night against their division rivals.
Some trends to consider. Cardinals are 6-21 in their last 27 road games vs. a team with a winning record. The Brewers are 6-0 in their last 6 home games vs. a right-handed starter, and 8-3 in their last 11 games vs. a right-handed starter. Head to head the Cardinals are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Milwaukee.
          Back the Brewers ML
          Good Luck, Razor Ray.

            MLB | Rangers vs Angels
Play on: Rangers +137 at 1BetVegas

My free play is on the Tex Rangers at 10:07 ET. The LA Angels return home from a 1-6 road trip, on a FIVE-game losing streak. The Angels are 63-70 and 13 1/2 games back of the second wild card spot, meaning the team is almost guaranteed to miss the postseason for the FIFTH straight year and for the NINTH time in the last 10 seasons. Coming to Anaheim will be the Texas Rangers. Texas returned from the break to take the first two of a four-game home series with the Astros (sat 50-42). However, the team then lost EIGHT in a row. A five-game win streak got them back to 58-54 through August 6 but Texas has now lost 14 of 20 to fall out of wild card consideration at 64-68 (12 games back of the second AL wild card spot). It's a battle of lefties in tonight's contest, as Mike Minor (11-7, 3.17 ERA) meets Andrew Heaney (3-3, 4.31 ERA). Minor is having a solid season for Texas (his 3.17 ERA is best among Rangers starters) but he was roughed up by the Angels last Wednesday in Arlington, when he surrendered a season-high seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits and a pair of walks in 5.2 innings (Texas did manage to win, 8-7). However, it should be noted that he had allowed a total of just three ERs in 22 innings over his first three August starts (1.23 ERA). The Angels lost THREE of four last week in Texas but the "W" came in Heaney's start in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader. Heaney was at his best last Tuesday, striking out a career-high 14 without issuing a walk and allowing just one run over eight innings to earn the 5-1 win. In fact, the lefty has allowed three ERs or less in each of his last five outings (2.89 ERA). Texas owns a poor road record but I like Minor here to bounce back from his poor outing last week against the Angels. After all, he was 3-0 with a 2.55 ERA in six previous career starts vs the Angels. As for Heaney, he is on a strong run but because of his injury issues and the fact that he threw 108 pitches in the Texas heat last Tuesday, Angels manager Brad Ausmus decided to give Heaney an extra couple days off between starts. He was scheduled to start Sunday against Houston but Heaney got Sunday off, and with Monday's off-day, Heaney will start Tuesday on six days' rest. Is that a good or bad thing? We'll see. but my bet is on Texas, as the Angels lose a SIXTH straight game. Good luck...Larry

                  Ballpark Figures - Week 23
                  Joe Williams

                  Big City Slams

The Chicago Cubs and New York Mets kick off a three-game set at Citi Field on Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. ET, and it could be a potential playoff series preview. The Cubs will roll out RHP Yu Darvish, while the Mets counter with RHP Marcus Stroman, their key acquisitions at the Major League Baseball trade deadline.

Darvish enters with a 4-6 record, 4.43 ERA and .297 opponent batting average. However, he has 176 strikeouts across 144 1/3 innings, so he still has nasty stuff despite his rather pedestrian numbers in other areas. The veteran righty has actually been better on the road, going 2-3 with a 3.75 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 74 1/3 innings on the road, while posting a 2-3 mark, 5.14 ERA and 1.26 WHIP across 70 innings in the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field.

The Mets lost Stroman early to a tight left hamstring in his most recent start, but he is expected to be fine to start Tuesday. New York is a perfect 4-0 in his four outings since he joined the team at the trade deadline in late July, although he has just one win and three no-decisions. He certainly has enjoyed the run support, as the Mets are averaging 7.0 runs per game in his four outings in blue and orange so far.

The Cubs enter 1-6 across their past seven games against teams with a winning overall record, and they're 0-6 in the past six against National League clubs. They're also just 1-4 in Darvish's past five on the road against winning sides, while going 0-5 in his past five road outings overall. They're also just 1-6 in his past seven when working on five days of rest. The Mets are 11-2 in the past 13 at home vs. RHP, while hitting in 24 of the past 29 against a right-handed starting pitcher. They're also 13-4 in the past 17 at home, and 21-8 across the past 29 games overall.

In this series, Chicago has won four in a row in Queens, while winning 11 of the previous 14 matchups. In addition, the over is 3-1-1 in the past five meetings in this series.

                  Looking Ahead

                  Tuesday, Aug. 27

The Indians travel across Lake Erie to meet the Tigers at Comerica Park, and this series hasn't really been close in recent years. Cleveland has won five of the past six on the road, although a visit to Motown might be the elixir to cure their ills. The Indians are 52-17 in the past 69 battles between these American League Central Division foes, while going 25-10 in the past 35 trips to the Motor City. The Tigers are 0-4 in RHP Spencer Turnbull's past four starts against the Indians, too.

The Rays use RHP Charlie Morton against Astros RHP Justin Verlander in a possible pitcher's duel. Tampa streaks in with 11 wins in the past 14 on the road, and they're 4-0 in the past four against teams with a winning overall mark. In addition, they're 10-4 in Morton's past 14 assignments on the road, while going 7-3 in his past 10 starts overall. For the Astros, they're 41-13 in the past 53 at home, and 44-16 in the past 60 at the 'Juice Box', while connecting in 20 of the past 28 against right-handed starting pitchers.

The Astros are also 12-5 in Verlander's past 17 home outings, while connecting in 16 of his past 21 starts while working on five days of rest. They're also 7-2 in the past nine during Game 1 of a new series, too, with Verlander on the bump. Tampa Bay has dominated this series recently, winning six of the past seven. The under is 4-1 in the past five meetings in Houston, while going 36-17-3 in the past 56 meetings overall in this series.

                  Weather Report
The Twins and White Sox will be battling an 11-14 mph wind blowing out to the left-center field power alley at Guaranteed Rate Field on the south side of Chicago. It will be the opposite in the Mile High City, as the Red Sox and Rockies deal with a stiff 10-13 mph wind blowing from right field to home plate. The good news is that precipitation won't be a problem at any of the outdoor MLB venues.

                  Wednesday, Aug. 28

LHP James Paxton works for the Yankees against his former team, the Seattle Mariners. They counter with former Yankees prospect LHP Justus Sheffield. The Yankees are 5-0 in the past five road outings against a left-handed starting pitcher, while going 19-7 in their past 26 overall vs. LHP. The Yankees have cashed in five in a row with Paxton on the mound, and they're 9-2 in his past 11 when working on four days of rest. The Yanks enter Tuesday's game with 22 wins in the past 28 games at T-Mobile Park, and they're 40-19 in the past 59 overall in the series.

Twins RHP Jake Odorizzi and White Sox LHP Ross Detwiler will do battle at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chitown on Hump Day. The Twins are 8-2 in the past 10 road outings by Odorizzi, while going 20-8 over his past 28 starts overall. They're also 16-5 in Odorizzi's past 21 starts against teams with a losing overall record and 6-2 in his past eight inside the division. For the White Sox, while they're 9-21 in the past 30 at home against teams with a road winning percentage over .600, they have won four of the past five home outings with Detwiler on the bump. The Twins have won 12 of the past 17 outings in this series, with the under going 4-0 in Odorizzi's past four starts against the Pale Hose.

Rangers RHP Ariel Jurado will do battle with LHP Patrick Sandoval of the Angels in Anaheim. The Rangers have had trouble in Jurado's starts lately, going 1-4 in his past five on the road, 0-5 in his past five starts overall and 1-5 in his past six inside the division. Texas is also just 16-35 in the past 51 road outings against a left-handed starting pitcher. For the Angels, they are looking to maintain their dominance at home against the Rangers, as they entered the series with a 10-2 mark in the past 12 in Anaheim against Texas.

                  Weather Report
For Wednesday's game, the Indians and Tigers will be battling a 12-15 mph wind blowing out to straightaway center field. The Twins and White Sox will also see a 12-15 mph wind blowing out to the left-center field power alley for the second consecutive evening. Also like Tuesday, just two MLB venues will be affected by winds, and none will see precipitation chances over 20 percent.

                          Team Betting Notes

                          Atlanta (7-22 SU, 14-15 ATS)
showed that they intend to be a tough out down the stretch, even if they are out of the mix for a playoff spot. The Dream rattled off two victories in three games in the past week, including three straight covers. The 3-0 ATS run is one short of a season best, and they're 5-1 ATS across the past six outings. Total bettors like the Dream, too, as the 'over' is 7-1 across their past eight contests.

                          Chicago (18-11 SU, 19-9-1 ATS)
has posted three straight wins heading into the new week. That's just one short of a season best for a win streak. The Sky is hot against the number lately, too, going 9-2 ATS across the past 11, and 10-3 ATS over the previous 13 outings. The 'over' is also on a 9-1 run acros the past 10.

                          Connecticut (20-9 SU, 12-17 ATS)
suffered a loss in L.A. to kick off a three-game road trip. They're still 4-1 SU across the the past five, although the Sun are having trouble against the number. Connecticut is just 2-5 ATS over the past seven, and 3-8 ATS across the past 11 contests.

After a thre-game winning streak, Dallas (9-20 SU, 14-15 ATS) has dropped three in a row, and they have failed to cover in any of the outings, too. Total bettors have been flying with the Wings, though, as the 'over' is 5-1 across their past six heading into the new week.

                          Indiana (10-19 SU, 12-16-1 ATS)
reached double-digit victories with a stunning 63-54 win in Seattle, snapping an 0-4 ATS skid. They're also just 2-7-1 ATS across the past 10 outings. The Fever have covered in back-to-back games on just three occasions this season, so watch them heading into the new week.

Las Vegas (19-11 SU, 11-19 ATS)
have dropped two in a row for the first time since May 31-June 2, and both mini skids have involved Connecticut. They're 0-3 ATS across the past three and 7-14 ATS across the past 21. The 'over' has cashed in seven in a row dating back to a push on Aug. 3.

Los Angeles (18-10 SU, 15-12-1 ATS)
has rattled off three straight victories and covers on their home floor after an 0-2 SU/ATS road trip on Aug. 14-16. The Sparks have won 11 straight on their home floor since a setback to the Mystics on June 18. They're also 6-1 ATS over the past seven at home.

                          Minnesota (15-15 SU, 16-13-1 ATS)
has bounced back with a pair of wins after a three-game skid, and they have covered in back-to-back games for just the second time since mid-July. Total bettors are also loving the Lynx, as the 'over' is 6-1 across the past seven outings.

New York (9-20 SU, 10-18-1 ATS)
was humbled in D.C. by 29 points on Sunday, and they have dropped 10 of the past 11 games overeall. They're also 1-9 AST over the previous 10 outings. The over is an impressive 4-1-1 over the past six, and 6-2-2 in the previous 10 outings.

                          Phoenix (13-15 SU, 15-12-1 ATS)
finds themselves in a strange spot, fighting for their playoff lives. While they're 3 1/2 games ahead of the Fever for the No. 8 spot with two weeks to go, it's unusual to see the Mercury way down in fifth place so late in the season. The Mercury are just 2-5 SU over the past seven outings, although they are a solid 9-3 ATS across the past 12 contests.

                          Seattle (15-14 SU, 15-13-1 ATS)
haven't looked like the team which won the WNBA title last season. They're 3-6 SU across the past nine outings, and 4-5 ATS during the impressive span.

                          Washington (21-8 SU, 17-11-1 ATS)
is not showing any signs of letting up, and the Mystics might be the odds-on favorites to win the WNBA title at this point. They have won six of the past seven, and 11 of the past 13, and they're hot against the number, too. The Mystics have posted a 5-1 ATS mark across the past six, while also going 8-3-1 ATS over the past 12 contests. They're latest win, a 101-72 rout of visiting New York, was their third triple-digit scoring performance in the past four games on their home floor.
