    MLB | Cubs vs Brewers
Play on: Cubs -114 at Buckeye

10* FREE MLB PICK (Cubs -114)
I'll take my chances here with the Cubs opening up their big series at Milwaukee Thursday night with a win. Chicago got the momentum back with a 2-game sweep of the Mariners before Wednesday's off day and will have Brewer-killer Jose Quintana on the mound. Quintana has a sensational 2.65 ERA and 0.996 WHIP over 16 career starts against Milwaukee. He comes into this outing in great form, posting a 2.16 ERA over his last 3 starts. The same can't be said for Brewers starter Chase Anderson. In his last 3 starts, Anderson has a 11.92 ERA and 2.118 WHIP. Last time out he gave up 5 runs on 7 hits in 4 innings to none other than these Cubs. Give me Chicago -114!

      MLB | Nationals vs Braves
Play on: Nationals -110 at sportsbook

1* Free Play on Nationals -110
Many are looking to the Nationals (78-60) as one of the only teams with a chance to take down the favorites for the World Series title. However, the Nats will have to make the postseason first, and they’ll have a chance to pull themselves closer to the NL East-leading Braves (86-54) when they visit Atlanta tonight.
Perhaps the biggest weapon in a Washington jersey is Anthony Rendon, who’s become the dark horse in the NL MVP race previously dominated by Cody Bellinger and Christian Yelich. On the season, Rendon is batting .338 (NL best) with 32 home runs and 114 RBIs (tied for NL best).
Beyond Rendon, good pitching figures to be on display as Nationals right-hander Stephen Strasburg (16-5, 3.47 ERA) faces Braves left-hander Max Fried (15-4, 4.05 ERA).
Strasburg is a perfect 3-0 with a 3.93 ERA in his three starts against Atlanta this season. In those games, Strasburg posted a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 23-to-7. In five career starts in Atlanta, Strasburg is 4-1 with a 3.21 ERA, and has struck out 49 versus just seven total walks.
Fried has faced the Nationals twice as a starter and once more in a relief role. In those outings, Fried is 0-1 with a 5.19 ERA.

1* Free MLB Pick on Washington Nationals -110
I like the Nationals to take the first of seven huge games against the Braves over the next 10 days. Both of these teams are finishing strong. Washington is 17-5 over their last 22 and Atlanta is 17-4 in their last 21.
Both teams are swinging the bats well, so for me it all comes down to starting pitching. I definitely give the edge to the Nationals in that department. Washington will send out Stephen Strasburg, who has been unbelievable both of late and against division foes.

          MLB | Nationals vs Braves
Play on: Nationals -108 at 5Dimes

          Nationals
The Washington Nationals have chased the National League East lead all summer, and now they get their chance to draw closer when they open a four-game series Thursday at the division-leading Atlanta Braves. The first-place Braves and second-place Nationals play seven times in the next 11 days, and even though Washington has baseball’s best record since May 24 (59-29), they remain seven games back as the Braves have played just as well since that date (58-31).
The Nationals missed an opportunity Wednesday to gain ground on idle Atlanta by losing for just the seventh time in the past 27 games, falling 8-4 at home to the Mets despite two hits and two RBIs from third baseman Anthony Rendon.
PITCHING MATCHUP: Nationals RH Stephen Strasburg (16-5, 3.47 ERA) vs. Braves LH Max Fried (15-4, 4.05)
Strasburg is putting together one of the best seasons of his career, leading the NL in wins and innings pitched (179), while ranking second in strikeouts (215) and sixth in WHIP (1.04). The 31-year-old has lost just once in his past 13 starts with 100 strikeouts in 83 innings, including a 14-strikeout performance with two hits allowed over eight shutout innings Saturday against Miami. Strasburg is 3-0 with a 3.93 ERA in three starts against the Braves this season, striking out 23 with 18 hits surrendered over 18 1/3 innings.
Fried has emerged in his first full season in the major-league rotation, trailing only Strasburg in wins in the NL by going 6-0 with a 3.50 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in eight starts since the All-Star break. The 25-year-old went 4-0 in six August starts, allowing three earned runs or fewer five times and finishing the month by striking out 11 while allowing three earned runs on four hits over six innings Friday against the Chicago White Sox. Fried lost his only start against the Nationals this season, allowing four runs on nine hits with five strikeouts across 5 2/3 innings on May 28.
          Back the Nationals.

Play on: Nationals -108 at 5Dimes

Jack’s Free Pick Thursday: Washington Nationals -108
The Washington Nationals are 17-5 in their last 22 games overall. They have been playing well for months and it’s been fun to watch their celebrations in the clubhouse. This team is playing for one another right now. Look for them to take down the Braves, who they are trailing in the NL East.
Stephen Strasburg is 16-5 with a 3.47 ERA and 1.039 WHIP in 28 starts this season. He has been dominant of late, going 1-0 with a 0.86 ERA and 0.619 WHIP in his last three starts. Strasburg is 4-1 with a 3.21 ERA with 49 strikeouts and only seven walks in five career starts at SunTrust Park.
Max Fried is 15-4 in spite of a 4.29 ERA and 1.386 WHIP in 26 starts for the Braves this season. He is 1-0 with a 6.19 ERA in his last three starts. Fried is also 0-1 with a 5.19 ERA in three previous appearances against the Nationals, two of which have been starts.
The Nationals are 40-13 in Strasburg’s last 53 road starts. Washington is 41-11 in Strasburg’s last 52 starts vs. NL East opponents. The Nationals are 7-0 in their last seven vs. a left-handed starter. Washington is 7-1 in Strasburg’s last eight road starts against the Braves. Bet the Nationals Thursday.

Play on: Astros -238 at betonline

Take the Houston Astros with the money-line versus the Seattle Mariners listing both starting pitchers Wade Miley and Marco Gonzales. Houston (90-50) looks to bounce-back from a 4-2 loss at Milwaukee on Tuesday. The Astros have won 4 straight games after a loss. Houston has also won 40 of their last 53 games at home. Seattle (58-82) has lost four of their last five games after their 6-1 loss at Chicago against the Cubs. The Mariners lost 4 of their last 5 games after allowing at least five runs in their last game. Seattle has also lost 16 of their last 21 road games against teams with a winning percentage over 60% at home. I considered endorsing the Astros minus the -1.5 Run-Line — but their slumping bats (along with an injury to George Springer) along with the improved pitching of Marco Gonzales as of late (3.86 ERA with a 1.33 WHIP in his last eight starts). If anything here, take Houston with the money-line listing both starting pitchers. Best of luck — Frank.
