Wednesday's comp play goes on the Brewers and the Reds to hold Under the total just like they did last night in their series opener.

Last night's 4-2 final made it 5 of the last 7 season series meetings between the division rivals Under the posted price. The Under last night moved the Brewers to 6-2 Under the total in their last 8 games played, while it moved the Reds to 7-2-1 Under for their last 10 games contested.

Jordan Lyles has turned his season around since coming over from the Pirates, as he has gone 6-1 with a 2.35 ERA in his 10 starts since joining the Brewers. He has allowed 1 earned run or less in 8 of those 10 assignments!

Tyler Mahle may only be 2-11 for the year, but the Under stands at 13-9-1 when he starts for the year.

Stick with the Under trends again tonight in Cincy.

Brewers-Reds to hold Under the total.

Wednesday comp play on big dog Pittsburgh to add to Chicago's misery tonight at PNC Park.

The Pirates were losers of 9 in a row entering play last night, and they were also getting no hit into the 5th inning of the game, but after 5 Chicago errors and 9 Pittsburgh runs, the Bucs ended their skid at 9 and pushed the Cubs skid to 7.

After a 5 error performance, and now 7 straight losses, it seems clear that the Cubbies have simply raised the white flag and have given up on their season.

Jon Lester remains inconsistent at best, so why not back Dario Agrazal and the Pirates to score out at this price?

It's worth a shot, that is for sure, as Chicago should not be favored by this much over anyone.

                Take the Pirates.

                2* PITTSBURGH

The playoff picture is getting clearer, and the Oakland Athletics are ready to make a reservation. They lead the league with 132 runs scored this month, and will be looking to bounce back after dropping a 3-2 decision last night. I think they win big over the Angels in Anaheim, as there is too much at stake to start tanking.

IMPORTANT: As you know every single Run Line play and Total wager will automatically list the scheduled starting pitchers at the time of the wager. But with this game I am not concerned with who is pitching for either team tonight and want you playing this game on the Run Line regardless. That said, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to be sure you have action even if one of the pitchers scheduled to start is scratched, by betting the game over again in the event that takes place.

Oakland has won 7 of 10 and has outscored teams by 24 runs in that span. It gets another crack at its division rival, which has a 6.28 ERA in its last 10 games, during which the Angels have been outscored by 27 runs.

Matt Olson leads the Athletics with 35 home runs and has 88 RBIs. I think he'll team up with Marcus Semien - who is 15-for-42 with four doubles, four home runs and 10 RBIs over the last 10 games - to ignite the offensive onslaught tonight.

Oakland, Cleveland and Tampa Bay are vying for two spots. The A's are in the lead. They need to win games like this. Tonight won't even be close.

My free winner for tonight is on the Seattle Mariners over the Houston Astros, and I want you to list the scheduled starting pitchers: Yusei Kikuchi over Zack Greinke.

Pick your jaw up off the ground. Yes, I'm taking the $3 pup.

I know the left-handed rookie from Japan is 6-10 with a 5.55 ERA this season, and is 2-5 with a 6.10 ERA over his past 14 starts and he's 0-1 with a 6.43 ERA in three starts against the Astros.

                    I don't care.

What matters is he went into Houston on Sept. 7 and was fantastic. And I think that's the one start he's had this season that is stuck in his brain. He started the game and lasted five innings, scattered five hits and allowed just one run against one of the best lineups in the league.

Greinke is weird cat, and I'm not necessarily sure he can dominate in this spot. It's his last start of the regular season, and he does have a 3.48 ERA since arriving from the Diamondbacks. That's higher than his season-long ERA of 3.05.

Let's take a shot, as I think this number is inflated.

                    2* MARINERS (Kikuchi over Greinke)
