The Wildcats have struggled on offense this year to say the least, but this is still the type of matchup in which they thrive ATS -- getting a ton of points against a similarly physical, gritty opponent. The BAdgers could find a bit of a flat spot following last week's dominant performance against Michigan, and most Big Ten clubs find Northwestern difficult to put away.

Northwestern has given us absolutely no reason to think it can keep this game competitive. As good as No. 8 Wisconsin looked last week against Michigan, this is more about the struggles that Northwestern is dealing with. The Wildcats can’t run the ball or throw the ball – and Wisconsin’s ability to stay disciplined on defense will give its offense great field position to grind away a blowout win at home.

This is the most massive spread with Northwestern on the receiving end since coach Pat Fitzgerald elevated the program to respectability. The Wildcats have regressed slightly this season but should be able to hang within two-dozen points, particularly with Wisconsin safeties Eric Burrell and Reggie Pearson suspended for the first half for targeting. Original starter Scott Nelson (ACL) went down long-term in the opener. Northwestern welcomes traveling, with a 19-7 ATS streak in road games. Plus, it has covered against the Badgers in four of the past five.

Analysis: 14 mph wind in the forecast here. On top of that, I feel both teams' defenses are improved from a year ago and I expect Texas Tech to be more conservative here with a back-up QB.
