                Play on: OVER 9 -101

                OVER 9
Tonight at 8:40pm ET we get Game 3 of the 2019 ALDS between the New York Yankees and the Minnesota Twins. The Yankees come into this matchup leading the series 2-0, and only need 1 more win to advance to the ALCS. The Yankees opened as 140 ML favorites and the over under was set at 9. We're still seeing that -140 line available though most books have it closer to -145 or -147 now. The over/under has settled in at 9.
On the mound tonight for the Yankees we will get RHP Luis Severino. Severino is 1-1 with a 1.50 ERA in 12 innings pitched. He spent 60-days on the injured list after healing from inflammation in his right rotator cuff and a Grade 2 lat strain this year. For Minnesota we'll get RHP Jake Odorizzi. He's 15-7 with a 3.51 ERA behind 159 innings pitched.
Severino has a career 6.26 ERA in the playoffs and I certainly don't trust his stuff to be sharp after such a long layoff...do you? He allowed 4 walks in 3 innings in his last "tune up" game. As for Odorizzi the Yankees certainly know what he's all about. When these two teams last met in July the Yanks shelled him for 9 runs in just 4 innings before he got chased from that game.
Some trends to consider. Over is 21-5-1 in Yankees last 27 vs. American League Central, plus 4-1 in Yankees last 5 overall, and Over is 16-5 in Severinos last 21 starts overall. Over is 4-0 in Twins last 4 games following a loss. Head to head the OVER is 14-3 in the last 17.
I don't have to tell you about how both these teams can HIT right? We've already seen 24 runs scored in the first two games of this series, and Minnesota has dropped a record 15 consecutive postseason games - 12 of them to the Yankees. I'm expecting Judge, Torres, Sano, Arraez, Encarnacion, LeMahieu, and Cruz to all bring their bats to tonights game and I could see 11-12 runs scored in this one.
                Play the OVER.
                Good Luck, Razor Ray.

10* FREE MLB PICK (Twins +137)
I know the Yankees have owned the Twins and all that, but I think the price is right to roll the dice with Minnesota at home. Twins are down 0-2 and facing elimination. The pitching hasn't been up to par for Minnesota in the first two, as the Yankees scored 18 runs in two blowout wins at home. I think we see the script flipped with the series shifting to Minnesota. Twins will have Jake Odorizzi on the mound and he was 7-3 with a 3.42 ERA and 1.245 WHIP in 15 home starts. Yankees will send out Luis Severino, who has made just 3 starts and completed only 12 innings this season. He threw well at home, but was not sharp at all in his lone road start against the Rangers. Give me the Twins +137!

                    Play on: OVER 9 -113

With all due respect to the starters, the 'over 9' may well be worth a look in this one. Severino, who has a career 6.26 ERA in the playoffs, still hasn't been back from injury that long and he wasn't sharp (4 walks, 3 innings) in his final reg. season game. Odorizzi was bypassed for a rookie in Game 2 for a reason. The last time that the Yankees saw him was in July, right here at Target Field. Odorizzi allowed nine runs, all of them earned, in just four innings. The final score was 10-7. Three of his past four starts vs. NY have produced double-digits in scoring. Needless to say, both teams can hit. Consider the Over.
