My model says the Blazers cover this spread almost 70 percent of the time, so you're getting solid value with Portland here. Philly's Joel Embiid will miss the game because of suspension, and the 76ers, though undefeated, have yet to face a quality team on the road. The Blazers are a quality team. Take Portland.

Listen, if Nebraska doesn't go on the road and cover this spread against the skeletal remains of this Purdue roster, there are major problems in Lincoln. It should happen, I just don't trust Nebraska enough to believe it will. I do like the Under, however, as it's going to be very cold and windy, and with all Purdue's injuries on offense, I don't know where its points come from.

I put in a separate pick in which I took Miami ATS, but I love the Canes straight up just as much. As I said there, Miami is the better team than Florida State. I know the game is in Tallahassee, but I don't care. FSU's offensive line is bad, and Miami's defensive front is as good as ever. it's a major mismatch that Miami will take advantage of.

Listen, if Bookmakers want to keep making Miami an underdog against teams its better than, who am I to complain? They did it last week against Pitt, and they're doing it this week against a Florida State team that had to resort to gimmicks to beat Syracuse. The Canes are only 4-4 ATS this season, but they're 2-0 as a dog. That will improve to 3-0 this weekend.

                        THU 10/31
Of these two teams, Tulsa prefers to play at the much quicker pace, but I don't see Tulane allowing that to happen. The Wave should control this game from the outset, and as a team that runs the ball over 60 percent of the time, will control the clock as well. That plus some high winds in Yulman Stadium will suppress the scoring enough to stay beneath this total.

                        THU 10/31
These are two teams that are led by their defenses, even if they play different styles. Florida is more aggressive, and looks to disrupt. Georgia prefers to play the long game, and make you beat it over time. Both are effective at what they do, and both will be effective in this game. That's why I like the Under. The fact it's 5-2-1 in the last eight meetings doesn't hurt, either.

                        THU 10/31
This line is just plain off. UAB is 6-1 on the season and 5-2 ATS but it has played the softest schedule in the country. The combined record of the FBS teams the Blazers have played is 10-37, and half those 10 wins belong to the Western Kentucky team that beat the Blazers. Tennessee has covered in three straight and is a much-improved team compared to the one that lost its season-opener to Georgia State. It's not happening again. The Vols roll.

We keep coming back to this well because it has produced so often for us in the past. It's two option offenses squaring off. That's an auto-fire on the Under.

I know the records don't reflect it, but Memphis is the better team in this matchup. SMU hasn't lost, but statistically, Memphis has been a little better than it in nearly every major category. Plus, the Tigers are at home, and the Liberty Bowl will be packed with Gameday in town as this is one of the biggest games of the week. The fact SMU could be without its top receiver and big play threat Reggie Roberson would also be a big blow to the Mustangs offense.

                        THU 10/31
I have a difficult time trusting Oregon coach Mario Cristobal to not make life more difficult on his team than he needs to, but I think this matchup is foolproof for him. USC is banged up on defense, and has had problems stopping the run when healthy. Now it will be up against an Oregon offensive line that is one of the best in the country, and when Cristobal gets a chance to bludgeon an opponent, he does. Plus, having played Wazzu last week, Oregon already knows what to expect from Mike Leach disciple Graham Harrell's offense.

It's going to be a cold and blustery Saturday in Ypsilanti, Michigan, my friends. The gray turf of Rynearson Stadium will match the clouds hovering above, and below will be two teams struggling to put up enough points to hit this total. Take the Under.

As the purveyor of The Bottom 25 I am more familiar with both of these teams than any right-minded individual should be. So believe me when I tell you that they are both quite bad, but that Akron is not six points worse than the Falcons. This line should be closer to four points than six, so take the value.

                        THU 10/31
Wake Forest is the better football team in this matchup, but with Winston-Salem's proximity to Raleigh, as well as the size of the NC State fanbase, there's a good chance there will be more red in the stands for this one than gold and black. I'm not willing to trust the Wake Forest defense to cover the touchdown and a hook in this spot.

Utah has been fantastic on the road during the College Football Playoff Era. Since 2014 the Utes are 21-10 ATS on the road, but that number is a bit misleading. They're 11-1 ATS as a road dog, but are 10-9 ATS as a road favorite. Then there's Washington, which might not be great as a dog itself under Chris Petersen, but has played well against Utah. The Huskies have won four straight games between these two, and while I don't know that they win this one, I have a hard time thinking they won't cover.

The Knights are explosive offensively and are capable of putting up 50 points every game. They are averaging 46.6 points per game, which is fifth in the nation, and put up 63 against a solid Temple defense. Houston can score and doesn’t play a ton of defense. Over is the play.

Boston College is dead last in the ACC in total defense, and Syracuse isn't much better at No. 11. Meanwhile, the Eagles have been racking up 6 yards per play and have a punishing rushing attack. If you have to pick a side, go with Boston College. But definitely take the over.

The Yellow Jackets' single-game season high in total offense is 379 yards, and Pitt hasn't given up more than 328 since it beat UCF in a shootout on Sept. 21. This game might not even break 35. Pat Narduzzi vs. a Georgia Tech offense in transition can serve as both a football matchup and a horror movie.

Florida State's quarterback situation is so bad that running back Cam Akers might get more time under center. The news isn't much better for Miami, which hasn't been able to find a reliable signal-caller all season. Defense will rule the day, and neither offense will get cranked up enough to come anywhere close to the total.

The Horned Frogs sprung the slight upset of Texas last weekend, with quarterback Max Duggan leading the charge with 273 passing yards. The true freshman has completed 64.2 percent of his passes in October, which shows that things are starting to click. The Cowboys have a star in running back Chuba Hubbard, but the Horned Frogs have the best run defense in the conference (103.71 yards per game). Duggan will lead his team to the slight upset in a sloppy affair.

Both teams come in to this one rolling, but the Wildcats proved last week that they are not only capable of pulling a big upset, but can contend for the Big 12 title. The Jayhawks defense has given up a whopping 537 yards per game in Big 12 action this year, and have given up 483 or more for four straight games. The Wildcats build off of last week's upset of Oklahoma and pull away late for a cover.

Utah's defense has played out of its mind since falling to USC in late September, and that will continue against a Huskies team that has been hit or miss this season. The Utes have given up just 2.76 yards per play in three October games and the Huskies have gained just 5.76 yards per play in conference games this year -- eighth in the Pac-12. This will be an old school slugfest with Utah pulling away late to keep its College Football Playoff hopes alive.

In years past Oregon has been automatic in slipping up toward the end of conference play. The team's misstep earlier this season in a winnable game against Auburn has made the Ducks a more resilient team. After a scare against Washington State last week, look for Oregon to show its true skillset advantage over USC. Grab Oregon.

Kansas State is coming off one of the biggest upsets in program history but will not face a rival that it is used to thumping. Kansas has shown an offensive ability under Les Miles that has made the Jayhawks competitive. Expect that to be the case in Saturday’s showdown as Kansas builds off its first Big 12 win last week. Take the Jayhawks.

Tulane’s dynamic offense has been thwarted in road environments. Off their first stretch of consecutive losses the Green Wave returns home to face Tulsa. As great as Tulane has been at home this is a spot where you have to throw out the 2-6 record of Tulsa. Grab Tulsa to cover this double-digit line.

Troy's defense has been reeling in the Sun Belt. In three of the Trojans' last four games they have given up 42 points or more. They’ll battle a Coastal Carolina team that has dropped all three of its Sun Belt games. Expect an sense of urgency from the Chanticleers coming off an open week. Yet inconsistent play at the quarterback position will doom them in the second half. Grab Troy.

Three consecutive road games resulted in two losses for Auburn. On Saturday the Tigers face an Ole Miss team fresh off a bye week. The Rebels are a team that may have five losses but has been in the majority of those games. They may be well coached and prepared to execute, but look for the Tigers' talent advantage to be key. Grab Auburn.

Sitting out two games because of injury may have been a good scenario for Nebraska QB Adrian Martinez. In the first handful of games, he did not play to the levels we saw a season ago. Expect a shift as the Cornhuskers need this road win over Purdue to get them one step closer to a bowl game. Take Nebraska.

Multiple quarterback changes throughout a season are never good for team camaraderie. Miami is going back to freshman quarterback Jarren Williams after his game-winning touchdown drive in relief last week against Pittsburgh. Look for the Hurricanes' youth to outshine a Florida State team that remains choppy on a weekly basis. Grab Miami.
