5-Unit Play. #113-114 UCF/Tulsa GAME TOTAL OVER 69 (Friday, November 8 at 7:00 PM ET)

Take UCF/Tulsa GAME TOTAL OVER as my 5-Unit CFB Play for Friday night. This pick falls into one my top college football systems and I expect a very high-scoring game here Friday night given the way these 2 teams match up against each other. Tulsa's numbers offensively may not look great however they have had one of toughest strengths of schedule in the country. Tulsa has averaged 453 yards per game over their last 3 games and they have allowed 37 points per game at home this season with opponents averaging 446 yards per game against them. Opponents of averaged 265 rushing yards per game against Tulsa at home this season and UCF has averaged 227 rushing yards per game on the road this season. UCF had a much weaker schedule than Tulsa this season so their defense of numbers are not legitimate. UCF has averaged 46.3 points per game this season and 551 total yards per game this season averaging 7.3 yards per play. Both of these defenses will be worn night big time by the 2nd half of this game with 2 great run-oriented offenses. The over/under is 7-1 for UCF in their last 8 road games when playing a team that has a losing record at home and the over/under is 4-1 for Tulsa in their last 5 games against the conference opponent. Play the OVER as we move to 9-4 on the college football season.

The Huskies have won seven straight meetings however, they come into this game having dropped two straight and are prime for the upset. The Beavers have won two straight and they have done a great job taking care of the football with just two turnovers through eight games. The Beavers are going to test the Huskies defensively, with a balanced attack through the air and on the ground. Beavers in an upset.

            WASHINGTON @ OREGON ST. | 11/08 | 10:30 PM EST
What started as a season with realistic Pac-12 title and playoff hopes has turned into a disaster for Washington, which is now a stunning 2-4 in conference play. One team the Huskies trail in the standings is Oregon State, which has quietly had one of the most dramatic turnarounds in the country. The Beavers come off back-to-back road upsets, but they were smashed by Utah 52-7 the last time they took their home field. Barring an unlikely no-show, look for a similarly physical Washington club to do the same.

                  2-Unit Play. Take #742 Miami (-11) over Florida Atlantic (7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8)
This is kind of like our Clemson win yesterday. Miami didn't play well in its opener. But they are an improved team. And I think that they are going to take it out on an overmatched in-state rival. FAU gave up 81 points to Flagler in its opener. That doesn't bode well for them being able to stop a motivated Miami team.

                  5-Unit Play. Take #747 Harvard (-2.5) over Northeastern (7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8)
This was going to be my 7-Unit Play tonight. However, I don't 100% know the status of Bryce Aiken so I can't pull the trigger for 7 Units on this. He averaged 22 points per game last year and is an absolute stud. He didn't play in their exhibition game and is questionable tonight. But I think that he is going to play and I think that the line movement on this game this morning (from Pk to -3) is a clear indication he is going to play. Aikens didn't play in their loss to Northeastern last year and he is a clear difference maker. Northeastern has won two in a row in this series and I think it is time for some payback from the Crimson. Harvard has an absolutely stacked roster and they are one of the best mid-major teams in the country. They have legit Top 25 talent. Northeastern is a very good, disciplined squad. However, they are replacing three of their top six guys from last year. In last season's game NE shot out of its mind, making 57 percent of its 3-pointers. Jordan Roland went off for 35. He also went off for 39 in NE's opener this year. Something tells me that Harvard is smart enough to gear their offense to stop him.

                  2-Unit Play. Take #762 West Virginia (-11) over Akron (7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8)
Last year was a disaster for West Virginia. I think that Bob Huggins is too good to allow that to happen again this year. Huggins has only had two losing seasons in 30+ years as a head coach. And I think that he is going to be focused to have his guys get off to a strong start. Akron is not a bad team by any stretch. But they are definitely punching up in weight class. West Virginia is going to press, play in-your-face defense, and get after the Zips for the entire game. I expect them to have a lot of intensity and to go hard for the full 40.

                  1-Unit Play. Take #769 Bowling Green (+13.5) over LSU (8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8)
LSU is a solid SEC team. But I do think that they are a little overrated. Tremont Waters and Naz Reid were easily the two best teams on the roster. Kavell Bigby-Williams was a valuable reserve and I think that it will take a beat for the Tigers to adjust. Bowling Green had four of its top six guys back from last year's squad and they played everyone tough. I think that they can keep this one competitive.

                  2-Unit Play. Take #775 Illinois (-7) over Grand Canyon (9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8)
This is another instance where I am looking for a bounce back. Illinois has high expectations this year. They needed overtime to beat a bad opponent in the opener. Now they are going on the road to face Grand Canyon and I think that Brad Underwood is going to have his guys ready to go heading into a showdown with Arizona on Sunday. Grand Canyon lost to a D-II team in its opener. They only played seven guys and this team is kind of a mess right now. Illinois should dominate.

                  3-Unit Play. Take #785 Baylor (-5) over Washington (9:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8)
I really like the Bears here. Styles make fights. Both of these teams utilize the 2-3 zone. However, Baylor has a team stacked with veteran players that have had success at this level. Washington is going to be relying on an entirely new crop of players. They lost their entire starting five from last year. Mike Hopkins has stocked the cupboard with some high-end talent, including star Isaiah Stewart. However, these guys have never played together. And they have never worked in a 2-3 zone like this before. It's going to take some adjusting. Baylor was able to get the kinks out with a warm-up game before this one in Alaska. This is Washington's first real game. I think that's an edge to the Bears and I think that they are going to take advantage.

                  5-Unit Play. Take #790 Arizona State (+5.5) over Colorado (10:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8)

This game is being played in China and should be an interesting matchup between two intriguing teams. Colorado is a squad that has gotten a lot of buzz heading into the year. And I do like them. But this is too many points. Bet this game early because I think that this line is going to come down. Colorado is not the same team outside of its home court. And last year they won just one game against a nonconference opponent rated in the Top 130. They only won two games against Top 100 opponents on the road or neutral sites. Arizona State, on the other hand, beat several good teams, including a 22-point home win over Colorado. The Sun Devils have three starters back from last year's NCAA Tournament team and I think that they have an edge on the interior in this game. I think that Remy Martin will be able to play even with McKinley Wright. So this game will come down to ASU's three forwards (White, Lawrence and Cherry) against Tyler Bey. It wouldn't stun me to see ASU win this game so I will take the points and call for the upset.
