These two played last year and only managed to tally 121 points (65-56 Hartford win). Hartford lost all 5 starters from last year’s team and while they did add a few key transfers, we expect offense will be a problem early in the season. They have played 2 games and scored 74 vs Central Connecticut State, who ranked below 300th last year in defensive efficiency and does again this year after two games, and 57 vs Winthrop. We were impressed with Hartford’s defense in their most recent game as they held a good Winthrop team to 67 points and Winthrop has since gone out west and took Fresno State to the wire and just beat top 20 St Marys. Hartford now faces a Marist team with 2nd year coach John Dunne who stresses defense as much as any coach in the country. The Red Foxes have played one game this year vs up tempo VMI and held them to 56 points in a 58-56 win. While their defense was great in that game as expected, the Marist offense only put up 58 points on a horrible VMI defense that ranked 321st last year in defensive efficiency. Marist doesn’t return anyone that scored more than 7 PPG last year and as with Hartford, we expect struggles offensively here. Both teams are very slow paced and the defenses are well ahead of the offenses right now. With this total set at 128 and the spread set at Marist -2, and final score of 65-63 is expected. We wouldn’t be surprised if neither of these teams reach 60 points and we’ll take the UNDER.

I think they'll come back down to earth in a brutal way here at Philadelphia Tuesday night. The Sixers dropped three in a row at Phoenix, Utah and Denver before returning home to beat Charlotte on Sunday.
The 76ers are a perfect 3-0 SU (2-1 ATS) home at Wells Fargo Center on the season and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games. The Cavaliers are 4-9-2 ATS in their last 15 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
The Cavs have started the season better than expected, but I don't see them keeping it close against this more talented and deeper Philly team.

Chicago is a better team than they have showed so far this season and I believe a big part of the Bulls struggles early on is the schedule. Chicago had to play 6 of their first 10 games on the road and tonight will mark the first time all season they will get to play back-to-back games without traveling.
Chicago also didn't have more than 1-day off under getting a 2-day break before their last game against the Rockets, so this team was simply running on fumes. Tonight's game will be just their second game in the last 6 days.
Sometimes it can be hard to get up for bad teams like the Knicks, but that won't be the case, as Chicago lost at New York earlier this season. One they haven't forgot, as they blew a 18-point lead. Give me the Bulls -6!

Jack’s Free Pick Tuesday: Atlanta Hawks +11
I think it’s time to ‘buy low’ on the Atlanta Hawks tonight. They have gone 1-6 SU & 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. Trae Young was hurt during this stretch but recently returned from an ankle injury. And the Hawks should be a good bet here on this current five-game road trip.
The Hawks started off the trip with a brutal 113-124 (OT) loss as 9-point underdogs at Portland. That’s one of the worst beats of the season if you had the Hawks in that game. I think the final margin in OT also has them undervalued coming into this game as it was much closer than an 11-point game.
The Denver Nuggets have seen their spreads inflated all season and they continue to be. That’s why despite being 7-2 SU, the Nuggets are just 3-5-1 ATS this season. Six of their seven wins have come by 8 points or fewer, and I think this game will fall into that category as well if they do win this one.
The Hawks have gone 6-2 SU & 7-1 ATS in their last eight meetings with the Nuggets with three outright upsets during this stretch. Atlanta is 10-4 ATS in its last 14 road games. Denver is 1-4 ATS in its last five home games. Bet the Hawks Tuesday.
