    Tom Fornelli

A CBS Sports writer since 2010, the entertaining Fornelli is a consistent winner when it comes to ATS and over-under picks. He's a wallet-fattening 216-179 in his popular "Six Pack" college football column the past four years. And he's spreading his wings on SportsLine, demonstrating his expertise in every single sport. In the 2018-19 NBA season, Fornelli went 86-67, returning $1,229 to $100 players. You'll get maximum access to Fornelli's picks only on SportsLine.

    OVER 50
    OHIO ST. @ MICHIGAN | 11/30 | 12:00 PM EST
    THU 11/28
It's one of the biggest games in college football, and for most of the last decade, it's been one of the highest-scoring rivalries. The last eight meetings between these two have featured an average of 67.25 points. The only time any of their games finished below 50 points since 2011 was a 26-21 Ohio State win in 2012. Expect more of the same on Saturday.

    UNDER 42.5
    NORTHWESTERN @ ILLINOIS | 11/30 | 12:00 PM EST
    THU 11/28
It will be a windy afternoon in Champaign, and that will affect both offenses. What makes the Under more attractive, however, is the uncertain status of Illinois QB Brandon Peters. Peters suffered a concussion in the loss to Iowa, and it's not clear if he's going to play. If he does, he'll be facing a tough Northwestern defense. If he doesn't, the Illinois offense will have an even more difficult time. Then there's the Northwestern offense, which is one of the worst in the country.

    43-32-4 IN LAST 79 CFB PICKS | +1099
    WYOMING +10.5
    WYOMING @ AIR FORCE | 11/30 | 2:00 PM EST
    THU 11/28
Wyoming is 3-2 ATS as a dog this season, but it's performed even better than that record suggests, as the two times it failed to cover came by 1.5 points total. The Cowboys also have one of the best run defenses in the country and that will come in handy against an option offense like Air Force. This should be lower-scoring and close, so those points -- and that hook -- are attractive.

    43-32-4 IN LAST 79 CFB PICKS | +1099
    WISCONSIN -2.5
    WISCONSIN @ MINNESOTA | 11/30 | 3:30 PM EST
    THU 11/28
Like many games throughout the country this Saturday, this one will feature a lot of wind. Still, I don't see a lot of value in the Under. What I do see happening is Minnesota's offense having a more difficult time with the wind than Wisconsin. Minnesota's offense is built around taking big shots down the field in the passing game, and high winds will impact their ability to do so. As will a Wisconsin defense that ranks 5th nationally in sack rate.

    ALABAMA -3.5
    ALABAMA @ AUBURN | 11/30 | 3:30 PM EST
    THU 11/28
Most aren't sure what Alabama's offense will look like without Tua, but while Mac Jones isn't Tua, he's in a better situation than Auburn's Bo Nix. Jones is still surrounded by NFL talent everywhere on offense, while Nix has struggled mightily against the top teams in the SEC. Lay the points with Bama, as this spread is too small.

    43-32-4 IN LAST 79 CFB PICKS | +1099

    OVER 71
    TULANE @ SMU | 11/30 | 4:00 PM EST
    THU 11/28
If you hate punting, this will be the game for you because neither team will have much need for their punters here. It's going to be a tennis match featuring a lot of quick touchdowns from both teams.

    43-32-4 IN LAST 79 CFB PICKS | +1099
    3-1 IN LAST 4 TULANE O/U PICKS | +189

    UNDER 46.5
    IOWA ST. @ KANSAS ST. | 11/30 | 7:00 PM EST
    THU 11/28
It is going to be a very windy day in Manhattan on Saturday, and that's going to impact both offenses in this one. The Under is the smart play, but Kansas State on the moneyline might not be a terrible play, either. The winds are likely to have a bigger impact on the Iowa State offense than Kansas State's.

    43-32-4 IN LAST 79 CFB PICKS | +1099
    4-0 IN LAST 4 KSTATE O/U PICKS | +400

    TEXAS A&M +17
    TEXAS A&M @ LSU | 11/30 | 7:00 PM EST
    THU 11/28
This line is straight up disrespectful. Texas A&M has lost to Clemson, Alabama, Georgia and Auburn, but those four losses came by an average of 11.75 points each. The Aggies defense has shown it's capable of slowing down top offenses, and LSU's offense has struggled against great defenses this season. Plus, LSU's defense is leaky, so it's hard to trust the Tigers to cover a spread this large.

      Barton Simmons

      CHIEF OF PERSONNEL

Barton Simmons has been involved in college football and recruiting since 2000, first as a player and then as a reporter and analyst. As a player, he was a two-time All-Ivy League safety at Yale before beginning a career in media at Rivals. He is now a national college football writer at CBS Sports who helped build 247Sports into the premier destination for recruiting coverage. Barton oversees the prospect rankings for 247Sports and plays a primary role in the selection of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Co-host of the Cover 3 College Football Podcast, Barton is uncanny when it comes to beating the books: Last year he went 68-50 (58 percent) on college football picks, closing the season on a 21-6 heater capped by Clemson's national championship game upset of Alabama.

      WAKE FOREST -3.5
      WAKE FOREST @ SYRACUSE | 11/30 | 12:30 PM EST
      YESTERDAY 2:03 PM
Syracuse doesn’t have much to play for at this point and Wake Forest is looking to put the finishing touches on Dave Clawson’s best season in Winston-Salem. I’m picking the team that has shown much more consistency and the coach that has shown much more consistency in a late season spot that starts to skew towards motivated teams.

      OHIO ST. -9.5
      OHIO ST. @ MICHIGAN | 11/30 | 12:00 PM EST
      YESTERDAY 2:00 PM
Michigan is playing with a ton of confidence. The offense has totally turned a corner, Shea Patterson is playing the best football of his life and the defense is one of the best in the country once again. And yet, Ohio State still has the best player on the field in Chase Young, it has a better RB, better QB, better OL, better WRs. Ohio State is simply better 1-11 among the starters and 1-85 roster-wide. Michigan will keep this competitive for a while but the Buckeyes get a few plays late to stretch this out beyond 10 points.

      VANDERBILT +22
      VANDERBILT @ TENNESSEE | 11/30 | 4:00 PM EST
      YESTERDAY 1:58 PM
Tennessee is a lot better team than Vanderbilt with a much steeper current trajectory but as inconsistent as Derek Mason’s teams have been, he’s had them up for this rivalry. Vandy has won three straight. Then there’s this: Tennessee hasn’t beaten another Power Five opponent by more than three touchdowns since 2016. I believe in the direction of this Tennessee program. I also believe that this line is just too big.

      OKLAHOMA -13.5
      OKLAHOMA @ OKLAHOMA ST. | 11/30 | 8:00 PM EST
      YESTERDAY 1:57 PM
In his first start for an injured Spencer Sanders, Dru Brown had a solid day in a win over West Virginia. But around the country we’ve seen backups have success in their first exposure to defenses, but the returns diminish quickly when teams have tape to prepare. Considering Oklahoma State is without Sanders and without star receiver Tylan Wallace, I think it will be too one-dimensional to be able to keep pace against an Oklahoma team that is playing as well as anyone in the country minus some turnover issues. If those turnovers are trimmed down, the Sooners should roll.

      RICE -6.5
      RICE @ UTEP | 11/30 | 3:00 PM EST
Rice had lost 20 of its last 21 games until it won its last two. Suddenly this two-game win streak feels like 10 and Rice is feeling good. When you look at the way the season has gone for Mike Bloomgren’s squad, Rice has been in almost every game it has played and it’s played some good teams. UTEP on the other hand has been losing and losing big. Rice will walk into this game with all kinds of confidence and try to use it as a spring board for 2020. If it can extend this lead late, it will.

        TUE 11/26
My model says that the Wolverines cover the spread 51 percent of the time, so you're getting good value playing Michigan at this point spread. The Wolverines are on a four-game winning streak during which they've scored an average of 41.5 points. They've covered the spread in each of their last five games and the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings between these teams. Take Michigan.

        12:12 AM
My model says that NC State covers almost two-thirds of the time, so you're getting strong value at this point spread. The Wolfpack have won three straight and nine of the past 12 meetings, and Saturday's game against rival UNC will serve as a de facto bowl game for NC State, which won't be going bowling this year. Take the Wolfpack to cover at home.

        ARMY @ HAWAII | 12/01 | 12:30 AM EST
        12:04 AM
The wrong team is favored here. Army needs a win to become bowl-eligible while Hawaii has a bigger goal looming in next week's Mountain West Championship Game. Hawaii is allowing 188.0 rushing yards per game (94th in the country). That bodes well for the Black Knights' ground game, which generates 302.6 yards per game, third best in the country. Take Army.

Three Louisiana-Lafayette's last four games have been runaway victories -- wins by margins of 28, 41, and 50 last week against Troy. The Ragin' Cajuns' ground attack has been there all season long, but the main difference has been quarterback Levi Lewis -- whose pass attempts have risen to season highs in November. Expect Lewis' skillset to lead to Ragin’ Cajuns to another cover.

For the past two games, Georgia State quarterback Dan Ellington has played on a torn ACL in his knee. Ellington will finish out his career at Georgia State Saturday on the road against Georgia Southern. Georgia Southern’s run-heavy offense should be effective after issues last week against Arkansas State. Look for the Panthers to continue to be inspired by their quarterback playing through injury.

          PITTSBURGH -8.5
          BOSTON COLLEGE @ PITTSBURGH | 11/30 | 3:30 PM EST
          YESTERDAY 10:30 PM
The Pittsburgh Panthers will look to bounce back from a shutout loss against Virginia Tech. Already bowl eligible, Pitt will look to sharpen its' miscues against a hungry Boston College team. Boston College must win Saturday to earn bowl eligibility. Look for the Panthers to finally clear their woes of winning games by close margins. Grab Pittsburgh and go.

A battle in the Big 12 between two 7-4 teams will take place between Iowa State and Kansas State. Look for the Cyclones to air it out plenty against a Wildcat defense that has been susceptible against the big play. In what should be a close game for four quarters, and expect a late touchdown by the Cyclones to get past the number.

Prepping for the SEC title game should see Georgia put an emphasis on their offensive game plan Saturday. A week ago, the Bulldogs were ineffective against Texas A&M -- settling for field goals and struggling to get first downs. Look for the Bulldogs to score early and run away from the Yellow Jackets in the second half.

Kenny White learned the bookmaking business on his father's knee. By age 24 he was running a sportsbook and at 26 he was setting lines for Vegas' biggest casinos. A two-time winner of the prestigious Stardust Football Invitational, the originator of Player Power Ratings and the former head of the powerful Las Vegas Sports Consultants, Kenny arrived to SportsLine armed with new algorithms, ready to exploit mistakes in the betting line. The Tigers have one of the best teams in the country, however they have struggled slightly with the growing pains of a true freshman quarterback, Bo Nix. Nix now has 11 games against some of the best teams in the country under his belt. Tigers have lost the last four in the series, but they are 4-2 ATS their last six home games against Alabama. Auburn is also 8-2 in its last 10 home games. The Alabama defense is very banged up and will play anywhere between five and eight freshman on defense. Mac Jones will make his first road start against a team 30 points better than its last two opponents.

The Wolverines are 7-1 ATS their last eight games after starting the year 0-3 ATS. Quarterback Shea Patterson threw five touchdown passes last week in a 39-14 win at Indiana. Patterson and the Wolverines are peaking at the right time. Ohio State won last week 28-17, however it failed to cover the point spread against Penn State. After 11 straight wins, the pressure starts to mount. Rain is likely, possibly mixed with snow and east southeast wind 6 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

The Golden Gophers are 10-1 straight up (8-3 ATS) and have plenty of confidence at home after beating Penn State a couple of weeks ago. Minnesota can also use the confidence that it finally beat Wisconsin last year after losing 14 straight. P.J. Fleck has his team playing at a different level with more speed than we've seen from Minnesota in a long time. Wide receivers Tyler Johnson and Rashod Bateman are both difference makers, plus senior running back Rodney Smith has over 1,000 yards. I have Tanner Morgan ranked the 10th best QB over the last eight weeks. Wisconsin QB Jack Coan is ranked No. 26, however his team is just 1-4 ATS in its last five games.

The Cowboys are 9-1 ATS their last 10 against teams with a winning record. Dru Brown took over for the injured Spencer Sanders (thumb), who was having a solid freshman campaign. Brown is a redshirt senior transfer from Hawaii. This Beldam Series rivalry game is more important than a bowl game for the Cowboys. The Sooners have the added pressure of knowing they need to win here and then next week against Baylor in the conference championship game to even have a shot at the playoffs. I also have Oklahoma State defense half a point better than Oklahoma's.

We have two really outstanding head coaches in this matchup. Matt Campbell has done a great job at Iowa State, however most of his big wins have been as an underdog and at home. For me it was a disappointing season for Iowa State and I'm sure it was for the Cyclones as well. They lost four games by a combined total of just 11 points. Kansas State has had an amazing season under Chris Klieman, winning seven games and covering eight of its 11 games. It will be very windy in the Little Apple, Manhattan, Kansas -- another advantage for the power running game the Wildcats deploy.

There are several strong tactical handicapping situations here. For one, Florida international is coming off of the biggest win in school history over rival Miami (Fla.). The win also was No. 6, giving tFIU bowl eligibility. I'm sure there was quite the party on South Beach. If Marshall wins and Florida Atlantic loses later in the day, the Thunder Herd represent their side of the conference in the championship game. Marshall is 25-10 straight up at home over the last five-plus years.
