The Philadelphia 76ers are in a very tough spot tonight. They are coming off a 115-109 win at Boston last night. Now they will be playing the 2nd of a back-to-back and their 5th game in 7 days. This is about as tough a situation as you will see in the NBA.
It’s also a letdown spot for the 76ers because they are quickly becoming rivals with the Celtics. They won’t be nearly as motivated to face the 6-19 New Orleans Pelicans tonight. Both meetings last year were decided by a single point with the 76ers winning each.
It’s a good time to ‘buy low’ on the Pelicans, who have lost 10 straight coming in while failing to cover nine of those 10 games. But they were competitive in most of those losses as six came by single-digits. And I expect the Pelicans to take the 76ers to the wire tonight given the tough spot for Philly.
Philadelphia is 5-18 ATS in its last 23 games after covering the spread in two or more consecutive games coming in. The 76ers are 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games when their starting 5 combines for more than 160 minutes the previous day. Philadelphia is 3-8 ATS in its last 11 games vs. a team with a losing record. Bet the Pelicans Friday.

My free play is on Colorado at 8:00 ET.Tad Boyle took the Colorado job in 2010-11 and won 20-plus games in FIVE of his first six seasons (three NCAA appearances). However, mediocre 19-15 and 17-15 seasons followed, before Colorado went 23-13 last year. The Buffs didn't make the Big Dance last season but all FIVE starters returned and big things were expected in 2019-20. The Buffs opened 7-0 but then lost 72-58 at Kansas (no shame there). However, Colorado then hosted Northern Iowa this past Tuesday and fell 79-76 as a 10-point favorite OOOOPs! Niko Medved spent four seasons as Furman's head coach (62-70) and one year at Drake (17-1), before landing the Colorado St job (why?). It couldn't have been too much a surprise that the Rams went 12-20 in his first season. CSU enters this game with their in-state rivals 7-5, after snapping a two-game slide with a 72-68 win over visiting South Dakota State this past Tuesday.
The loss to Northern Iowa is cause for consternation. The Buffs led 76-73 with 1:39 remaining but wouldn’t score again, as the Panthers closed out the contest with SIX straight points to knock off a ranked opponent for the first time in their last eight attempts. The usually-stingy Buffaloes allowed a season-high 79 points, including 14 3-pointers on 26 attempts. The 6-7 Tyler Bey (13.0 & 11.0 ) is a terrific player and is joined in double figures by PG Wright (12.3-4.6-3.8) and the 6-7 Schwartz (10.3). Some inside 'muscle' comes from the 6-8 Battey (9.3 & 76.2) and the 6-7 Siewert (7.4 & 4.9), who comes off the bench. Siewert connected on 5-of-7 three-point attempts and scored a career-high 21 points off the bench in the loss to No. Iowa, while Wright added 16 points, five rebounds and a game-high six assists. However, Colorado had more turnovers (15) than assists (13) for the fourth straight game and the SEVENTH time in nine outings this season
CSU's 6-11 Nico Carvacho can match Bey double-double for double-double, doing so after posting his fifth one of the season with 12 & 12 in the victory over the Jackrabbits. The senior is averaging a team-leading 13.3 points and 9.9 rebounds overall and is joined by guard Isaiah Stevens (11.0 & 3.6 APG) and 6-6 forward Adam Thistlewood (9.8 & 4.0) as the Rams’ leading scorers.
Colorado may not be as good as some predicted but the Buffs are good enough to beat the Rams here, off back-to-back losses. Take the road favorite.

I really like the value here with the UNDER 5.5 in Friday's NHL action between the Stars and Golden Knights. Dallas just recently fired head coach Jim Montgomery and I think it's lit a fire under this team. Within hours of the news the Stars came out and beat New Jersey 2-0 on Tuesday.
That's exactly how this Dallas team wants to win games. They are leading the league giving up just 2.31 goals/game and need their defense to be great to make up for their lack of offensive fire-power. Stars are only averaging 2.59 goals/game, which is the fifth lowest mark in the league.
With the game being at home and Vegas coming in on no rest after playing last night in St Louis, Dallas should be able to play this game at their pace and keep it well below the posted mark.
UNDER is 11-1 in the Stars last 12 at home after allowing 2 goals or fewer in 3 straight games and 24-7 in their last 31 at home after 2 or more wins in a row. Take the UNDER!

On average, the Kings are scoring 105.2 points while allowing 108.3 points.
A slew of Sacramento players are scoring between 11 and 18 points per game. Buddy Hield leads the way with his 21.5 points per game.
