The Terrapins last played on the 10th when they lost a close one at Penn State. For Mark Turgeon's team it was their first loss of the year and they will look to bounce-back tonight on the road - again - this time in North New Jersey where they will play a Seton Hall team that happens to be reeling right now as the Pirates have dropped two in a row.
The Hall has lost to Iowa State by 10 points and to Rutgers by 20 points over their last two contests, so they are in need of a game that does not get away from them at the very least tonight in front of the home crowd.
The loss of Myles Powell to a head injury he suffered against Rutgers is going to hurt, no two ways about it, but the fact we are getting a bunch of points does make it so that we do not have to win the game - just cover the game.
Seton Hall coach Kevin Williard is going to have to earn his pay tonight as Maryland has the talent - Anthony Cowan Jr. and Jalen Smith to name a pair - to blow this game open, but after the 9 day layoff between games and playing away from home once again, I will call for this game to be closer than expected.
Maryland ekes-out the road win tonight with Seton Hall getting the underdog cover.
Leave it to the Democrats to always disrupt a good thing. Because their debate is being held at Loyola Marymount University, this game will be at the Galen Center on the campus of USC.
Regardless of the locale, I'm laying the points with Loyola Marymount, as it's won three straight home games and could continue that as the de facto home team in this one.
When these two met last season in Portland, it was LMU playing one of its best all-around games of the season, scoring 85 points - the most against a D-I program all season.
Eli Scott finished with 14 points, eight rebounds, and three assists on 4-of-5 shooting, and this season, he is back.
This year's team has been phenomenal offensively, as it's been shooting the ball at an astonishing rate. Only Dayton (53.9 percent) and Kansas (52.9 percent) shoot the ball at a higher rate than Loyola's 52.0 percent (292-for-562).
Loyola has had a decent non-conference schedule, with Reno, Colorado State, Air Force, Indiana State, Duquesne and No. 20 Colorado helping the Lions prepare for the campaign.
Thursday free play on the Jazz minus the points over the Hawks.
Atlanta just got lit up for 143 points in their last game....against the New York Knicks!!!!
The Hawks have lost 5 in a row coming into this game both straight up and against the spread, while the Jazz come into State Farm Arena having won a modest 3 straight.
Utah is allowing just over 106 points per game and I see them throwing the defensive clamps on this Atlanta team that scores it at just over 108 points per game for the season, while allowing over 118 points per game to the opposition.
Atlanta has allowed 130 points or more in 5 of their last 9 games and with both Donavan Mitchell and Bojan Bogdanovich both netting 30 in the Utah win over Orlando, things could get ugly for the home team sooner rather than later tonight.
The Jazz should be better than their current 16-11 mark and tonight they will feast on a team that does not play any defense.

NHL | Stars vs Lightning
Play on: Stars +155 at sportsbook
1* Free Play on Stars +155
The Stars (19-12-4, 42 points) are set to head into Tampa Bay for a showdown with the Lightning (17-12-3, 37 points) this evening.
Before falling to Edmonton by a goal in their most recent game, Dallas won four games out of five. Over their last six contests, the Stars have held all opponents to three goals or fewer, and have allowed two goals or fewer on five of those occasions.
On average, the Stars are scoring 2.57 points per game (27th) while allowing 2.29 points per game (1st).
Dallas has earned the best defensive record in the NHL thanks in large part to the efforts of goaltender Ben Bishop. Bishop has used his .933 save percentage to allow only 2.07 goals per game.
Tampa Bay has won three of their last four, but each victory has come by a single goal. The Lightning have allowed five goals in each of their last three defeats. In their two most recent losses, Tampa Bay has been outscored 10-3.
On average, the Lightning are scoring 3.53 goals per game (2nd) while allowing 3.22 goals per game (27th).
In a classic matchup of a top offense versus a top defense, the Lightning will need to rely on Nikita Kucherov (35 points) and Steven Stamkos (30 points) to keep them in this contest.

NHL | Sabres vs Flyers
Play on: Flyers -130 at betonline
Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NHL Rotation #34 Thursday Free Pick Philadelphia Flyers Money Line (-) vs Buffalo Sabres @ 7:05 ET - The Flyers had been struggling but that was on the road and they bounced back at home Tuesday by coming up with a huge 4-1 win over Anaheim. Goalie Carter Hart was fantastic between the pipes and I am expecting more of the same from Philadelphia Thursday night. Getting Travis Konecny back was key on Tuesday plus the Flyers got goals from Claude Giroux, Jakob Voracek and Sean Couterier in the win over the Ducks. Getting the big guys going for Philly is a key to their success and they are being undervalued here. The market activity is showing movement toward Buffalo but the Sabres have lost 13 of 19 road games this season! Also, Buffalo relies heavily on Jack Eichel and he is red hot but the Sabres need more from the rest of the hockey club and they're not getting that. Keep in mind Buffalo started the season with wins in 9 of 12. That means that since then they have lost 16 of 23 games. That being said I like the odds here (literally) with the Flyers becoming a lower priced home favorite in early morning market activity. Free Pick PHILADELPHIA

NBA | Jazz vs Hawks
Play on: Jazz -6 -109 at GTBets
There will be a time to take the proper amount of points with the Hawks. Big man John Collins is due to come off the suspended list after two more games. But for now the Hawks are a fade. Atlanta is 6-22. Only Golden State has a worse record in the NBA. The Hawks have lost their last five games by an average of 17.2 points. They are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games versus Western Conference opponents. The Jazz have won three in a row. This is the start of a three-game road trip. The Jazz have been very good as a road favorite against bad teams covering eight of the last 11 times when facing opponents with a home winning percentage of less than .400. Underrated Donovan Mitchell can match Trae Young's scoring and the Jazz have a huge edge in the middle with Rudy Gobert and the Hawks missing Collins. Point guard Mike Conley is out for Utah. That's not necessarily a negative, though, for Utah. Conley has had trouble picking up the Jazz's offense after being at Memphis for 13 years and was shooting a career-low from the field.

1 Unit FREE PLAY on Utah Jazz -6.5
The Utah Jazz have won three straight and four of their last five games all by 7 points or more. They should put away the Atlanta Hawks pretty easily tonight. The Hawks are 2-16 in their last 18 games overall with their only wins coming against two of the worst teams in the NBA in the Hornets and Warriors. They haven’t been competitive very often as six of their last seven losses have come by 10 points or more, including their ugly 120-143 loss to the Knicks last time out. The Jazz are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 road games off two or more consecutive home wins. Give me the Jazz.

NCAA-B | UTEP vs Houston
Play on: UTEP +12½ -110 at 5Dimes
725 UTEP at Houston
Just the second true road game for the Miners, who lost its only away game of the season. But we like this UTEP squad who plays quality defense and forces turnovers.
Houston is only 2-3 straight up when facing Top 125 competition.
