Analysis:
We use 3 CBB Models, all developed differently to pick different ways. They help us SPOT Potential Totals and all 3 have agreed that this number is too low. It is not the only thing we use but it is a starting point. We also use techniques that as far as I know have not yet been discovered by others including books. While these are not fail proof techniques they have been very profitable over the last few years. We also use offensive and defensive efficiency numbers, pace, projected pace, venue trends, league and division trends, injuries, along with other more "Standard" Handicapping Principles to get our final number and possibly make a play rated at 1* 2* and 3*.


This is a very low number for a Houston Cougar game and about average for a UTEP Game. Both teams like the slow pace, the Minors a bit more and both play very good defense. But there is a good reason why we LOVE the OVER here and part of that has to do with a database entry that we are not going to talk about. We do need to keep some things private to continue to do what we do which is outsmart the books. The Minors have yet to play a team that has offensive skills like the Cougs and we expect Houston to score plenty. That should open up this game considerably especially in the 2nd half. Don't be alarmed if we are not looking great at halftime. We got this number early and since then it has dropped giving you much more value. We are seeing anywhere from 123.5 to 124.5 at most books at this writing. Get your best number and let's play..
