ALAMO BOWL -- It's basically déjà vu for the Longhorns, whose last chance to finish up an otherwise disappointing season on a positive note is to win a bowl game as an underdog against an opponent that just missed reaching the CFP. Texas came through last year and handily beat Georgia as a two-touchdown underdog. Utah's lack of quality competition was exposed in a lopsided loss to Oregon on the Pac-12 title game. The Utes will have an edge in physicality, but the value lies in taking a Texas club with a default home-field advantage.

I know that everyone will be quick to point out that the PAC 12 has not had a good record in the Bowl Games recently but that didn't bother us yesterday as we cashed with California. I also know a lot of people are going to look at Texas' Coach Tom Hermann and point out his record as an Underdog but the best part of his Underdog record was while he was at Houston. Utah is the better team with a very physical defense something that Big 12 teams just don't see on a regular basis. Utah is also a 200 Club member as they rush and pass for more than 200 yards per game. I just don't see Texas and their 105th ranked defense stopping Utah's balanced attack. Texas can move the ball but Utah owns the 4th ranked defense in all of College Football. Texas needs their running game to work to set up the rest of their offense and simply put you just don't run on Utah as 10 of their 12 opponents rushed for Under 100 yards against them this year. Note Utah is 22-10 ATS as a Favorite Over the last 3 years. My numbers have UTAH winning 34-17 as my BOWL MISMATCH GAME OF THE WEEK.
