My 1* FREE PLAY is on the Montreal Canadiens (PUCK-LINE).
Chicago comes in off a highly satisfying victory in Ottawa just last night and I look for it to now suffer a predictable letdown here in the second game of the back-to-back situation. Yes, Montreal is just 2-7-1 in its last ten overall, but it does come in having won two in a row. There's no way the Habs are going to "look past" the Hawks tonight.
Key Trend:
- Montreal is 10-5 (+5.3 units) in its last 15 non-conference games.
The verdict: Chicago is NOT a good pick here. True, its current form has been better than Montreal's of late, but this is not a good team. The Hawks do not have an advantage in net or in any other area and they're facing a desperate club and in the second game of the "back-to-back" scenario. There's a chance I'd even like the Hawks on the "puck line" in this situation IF they had lost last night. But they didn't, they won. I think Montreal wins by a signficant margin once it's all said and done tonight, making the "puck line" option a very serious investment opportunity!

Virginia will try and work its way back into the national rankings after suffering back-to-back losses (SU and ATS) to Boston College on the road as a 10-point favorite and to Syracuse at home on Saturday favored by seven points. The Cavaliers have failed to cover against the spread in 11 of their last 13 games. They are an even 4-4 straight-up in their last eight outings. The total has gone OVER in four of their last five games.

Virginia has only crossed the 60-point mark in two of its last 10 games. The Cavaliers are averaging 55.7 points per game and allowing a 48.7 points on defense which is the lowest average in the nation.

The Seminoles are just one of three ACC teams ranked in the latest AP Top 25. Back on Jan. 4, they beat Louisville 78-65 on the road as 6 ½-point underdogs. Last Wednesday night, they got past Wake Forest 78-68 to cover as eight-point favorites on the road. Florida State brings a SU seven-game winning streak into this game while covering in its last three contests. The total has gone OVER in three of its last four games.

The Seminoles are averaging 76.4 PPG led by sophomore guard Devin Vassell’s 12.3-point scoring average. He has topped that average in each of his last three starts.

The Shockers extended their current SU winning streak to nine games with Sunday’s tight 89-86 overtime victory against Connecticut. They missed covering by half a point as 3 ½-point road favorites. Wichita State has just one SU loss this season against 15 victories. It has failed to cover in three of its last five outings to fall to 9-7 ATS. The total has gone OVER in 10 of the 16 games.

The Shockers are averaging 77.6 points a game with five different players scoring at least nine PPG. Sophomore guard Erik Stevenson has led the way with 14.1 points a game.

Temple is 9-6 SU with a 7-8 record ATS. It has lost three-straight AAC contests after beating Central Florida 62-58 as a one-point road favorite on Dec. 31.
