I'll keep going against the Tar Heels. It's hard for a lot of basic bettors to accept, but this team just isn't very good. They are bereft of talent or experience. The Heels are still putting in effort, but they just aren't very good at all. The Wolfpack are healthy now and they are looking to bounce back after a tough loss at Georgia Tech. N.C. State hasn't lost at home since their opener and they are 5-0 SU in their last five games after a loss.

2-Unit Play. Take #868 Wisconsin (+5.5) over Iowa (8:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 27)
The Badgers got blitzed in Purdue on Friday. I think that they will rebound here. I also just don't think that Iowa is as good as it has played. They've been great at home this year. But I think that they peaked with wins over Michigan and Rutgers during this four-game winning streak. The Badgers struggle with teams that are overly athletic. Iowa isn't one of them. These two teams play similar styles and I think the Badgers will find a way to hang around here.

2-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 135.5 Kansas at Oklahoma State (9 p.m., Monday, Jan. 27)
The way this spread is moving it makes me think that Oklahoma State is going to be competitive in this game. The only way they can do that is if they can throw some points up on the board. The Cowboys have gone 'over' in four straight games after a disastrous offensive start to league play. Oklahoma State has averaged over 70 points per game in their last four and Kansas has done the same. I can see this one played in the high 60's and low 70's and I think it will tuck over.

Forward Luka Garza is a beast and leads the conference in scoring for an offense that averages just over 80 points per game. The Badgers are just 3-10-1 ATS in night games this year, while Hawkeyes are 10-4-1 ATS in night games.

The Miami Heat own the best home record in the NBA at 20-2 and come into this game off a tough loss to the Clippers. The Magic just lost to the Clippers as well, and I'm not sure how well they will play here on back-to-back nights on the road in Miami. This game sets up nicely for the Heat, who were crushed in the last meeting in Orlando earlier this year where the Heat were just 7-for-37 from long range. The Magic are just 2-5 since DJ Augustin went down with a knee injury and 8-15 on the road this year and 0-4 ATS when playing on zero days rest.

This game could get ugly in a hurry. The Jazz are red hot, having won 14 of their last 15 games. Three of their last four wins have come by at least 22 points. On the other side of the court will be the Rockets, who already have ruled out Russell Westbrook (rest). It also looks like they will be without James Harden (thigh), who is listed as doubtful. Despite this lofty line, I like the Jazz to cover.

Yes, Chicago posted a 12-point victory in Cleveland on Saturday. It was an impressive way for the Bulls to pick themselves up off the mat after a dreadful 17-point home loss to Sacramento the previous night. They scored only 81 points in that setback and likely will continue to struggle offensively with Lauri Markkanen (pelvis) out. The Spurs suffered a close loss against Toronto on Sunday, but they are 3-1 ATS in the second game of back-to-back sets, so there’s not a ton of concern there. I think they win this one going away, so I’ll take them to cover this small line.

Per today's selection, you have a Pistons team that likely shows up big time defensively after holding the Nets to around 100 points in regulation before losing their last game. Their 2nd round draft picks are playing very well and very hard and you have a Cavs team that played hard against the Bulls but had a 19-40 3rd quarter which cost them the game. They are likely to focus heavily on the defensive side of the ball as that is all the talk was post-game about their lack of defense in getting to the right spots. Look for an under here today as you have two teams focused heavily on defense and it is a small public fade to boot as well.

Great 3* Winner on Wake Forrest yesterday, let's look to keep rolling today. Per this game, there is a lot of juice in this game if you will. You have a NC State team that lost to UNC last year and finally gets a chance and a crack at them this year with a great shot at winning. You have a UNC team that rolls in as a sub .500 squad and who will be very upset coming in and at the very least beating NC State would be a nice sticker to add on their lapel. Then, you have a NC State team that features their top scorer going 0 for 4 from the field and being scoreless in his last game at Tech in a horrible game. Then you have Coach Kevin Keatts talking about how his team did not bring it so t o speak in that game. Then you have DJ Funderburk who broke his 9 consecutive game of streak of scoring at least 10 points. Let's cash this play, the 7*NBA Play and the great NHL Play today and go 3-0 which we have done many times. Also, we think we can break +10,000 in the NBA save money and sign up for the whole season.

Tonight at Gallagher-lba Arena the Oklahoma St Cowboys welcome the Kansas Jayhawks and I see this game flying 'Over' the total. Kansas comes to this conference road game winner of 4-Straight and in back-to-back wins both of those games went 'Over' the total. The Cowboys are also trending 'Over' the total cashing 4-Straight and let's face it their defense has allowed 75.5ppg. I see Kansas taking control of this road game in the second half and I see this game playing fast and tons of points being scored. Kansas is 6-2 O/U in their last 8 Monday games and Oklahoma St is 12-4 O/U following a ATS win. Let's also throw in that the Cowboys are 5-2 O/U last 7 home games.

The Washington Capitals are now 33-11-5 on the season and still hold 1st place in the Metropolitan Division. The club will travel to Montreal tonight to take on a Canadians squad who is now 22-21-7. Montreal has played better over their last 5 games where they have gone 4-1 over the stretch but their schedules has been extremely weak. Take a look at their last 5 contests: @Ottawa (2-1) win, Calgary (2-0) win, Chicago (1-4) loss, @Philadelphia (4-1) win and finally Vegas (5-4) win. But prior to this 4-1 run the club had lost 8 straight games and had trouble keeping the puck out of their net. Even without Ovechkin tonight I still really like Washington to come away with the win. The Capitals are a much more discipline team than the Canadians and have much stronger lines. I also like Holtby and Samsonov over Price right now. Holtby is 18-9-4 on the season with a 3.09 goals against average and Samsonov is 15-2-1 on the year while holding a 2.06 goals against average. Price is only 20-16-4 with a 2.84 goals against average and continues to struggle due to a lack of help in front of him. Look, the Capitals are just flat out better than the Canadians and will have a chip on their shoulder from getting beat 5-2 in Washington. The Capitals have scored an average of 3.55 goals per game compared to the Canadians 3.04 and I think their offense will be the difference in this game tonight. Montreal is 2-13 in their last 15 games when playing at home against the Capitals. Take Washington tonight in Montreal.

The Wolfpack have lost three in a row in this series and they will want to get revenge against their in-state rivals. North Carolina has dominated this series over the past two decades and this is a rare season where the Wolfpack has the upper hand and the Tar Heels are down. North Carolina is just 2-5 ATS on the road and they are 8-18 ATS as a road underdog.
