I have them power rated roughly 11 points better than Utah on a neutral, so it’s an easy choice here tonight. The Cardinal beat Oregon by 10 at home to end a 3-game skid. They take on a Utah team that has lost 6 of its last 8 with its only wins coming at home over Washington by 1 and Washington State. And 4 of the Utes’ last 5 losses have come by 16 points or more so they haven’t been all that competitive. Stanford is 8-1 ATS off a home win by 10 points or more this year. The Stanford Cardinal 16-5 (14-7 ATS) take on the Utah Utes 12-9 (11-10 ATS) tonight in Pac 12 conference hoops action. This line opened at 132.5 and the Utes are favored by -1.5, so there is value to be had on the UNDER here.
Stanford allows the fewest points in the Pac 12 (59PPG), and they rank 6th in the nation in defensive efficiency, and they're looking to get their mojo back as they opened the season with 7 straight wins. In their last game, the Cardinal defeated the #11 Ducks 70-60. Stanford is now 5-3 in conference play.
Keep an eye on the injury status of Both Gach. He's third on the team in scoring at 10ppg, but sat out for the second straight game Sunday at UCLA, he's likely a GTD. Jones, Battin and Allen are all playing a lot more minutes in his absence. Last game out the Utes lost to UCLA 73-57. The Utes are now 3-6 in conference play.
Some betting trends to consider. The total has gone UNDER in 10 of Stanford's last 14 games against an opponent in the Pacific-12 conference, and they are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog which tells me this won't be a blowout. Another game similar to my Chicago State selection Ragin Cajuns team got their barn doors blown off just a month ago versus this same Georgia State team now it’s payback time at home and this line is set short for a reason as they look to bait in as many suckers as they can on this one.
