Georgia Tech -1 over Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech might have been a little overvalued this year. This is a team that plays a lot of freshman and Mike Young is just getting his feet wet with this program. This team runs a very slow paced offense so the margin for error is slim. Georgia Tech has improved on defense and a guy like Jose Alvarado can steal the ball better than anyone in the country. The Hokies limited possessions become even less with the active hands of Alvarado. This team has talent and a big size advantage. Josh Pastner needs to win these coin flip games in his 4th year against first year head coaches. Take Georgia Tech.

Xavier +1.5 over DePaul
Xavier just got a monster win against Seton Hall on the road and needs to carry that momentum over to these midweek games. DePaul is a good team, but will really miss the services of Devin Gage. Gage was so good at finding his teammates and very active with his hands. Xavier has the size, experience and overall better roster. Travis Steele can start to make a name for himself as a young head coach in spots like this. I just don’t know how good the guard play will be for the Blue Demons. As long as Xavier stays red hot at three point defense they should win this game with no problem. Take Xavier.

MASSACHUSETTS +15.5
MASSACHUSETTS @ RHODE ISLAND | 2/04 | 7:00 PM EST
The Minutemen have one of the youngest rosters in the country as three of their top four leading scorers are freshmen. They also have one of the country's youngest coaches in 38-year-old Matt McCall. The youthful club had shown growth with two straight wins before getting clobbered at Davidson on Saturday. But UMass should be in a good spot Tuesday for a competitive effort against a red-hot Rhode Island club that is in a natural letdown spot following a signature win over VCU that gave the Rams sole possession of second place in the A-10.

Virginia Tech has failed to cover its last five games and lost its last two as the favorite. The Hokies are well overdue for a big win and who better to get it against than a team they've defeated six straight times. Virginia Tech has won each of the last three meetings by double digits. Take the Hokies in this one.

This is a matchup between two teams on opposite ends of the standings, but one similarity between them is that they'll both be trotting out a goalie who hasn't been very good this season. Braden Holtby will be in net for the Caps, and he's had a save percentage hovering around .850 over his last 10 starts. Meanwhile, Jonathan Quick has been sub.-900 all season. Look for goals, and play the Over.

The Islanders have been struggling of late, especially with Semyon Varlamov in net. Varlamov has lost his last four starts while posting a save percentage of .864. Dallas doesn't bring a high-powered offense, but the Stars come into Tuesday having won six of their last eight games on the road. The Stars are the play here.

My model says that the Bison cover the spread 67 percent of the time, so you're getting great value playing them at this point spread. North Dakota State has won three straight and five of its last six contests, with four of those victories coming by nine or more points. The Bison also posted a 10-point win over Omaha in the championship game of last season's Summit League tournament and is 49-33 in the all-time series.
