            NBA | Suns vs Raptors
Play on: Raptors -7½ -110 at Mirage

            Raptors
The Toronto Raptors watched their franchise-record winning streak end in a lethargic performance before the All-Star break. The Raptors will try to find the energy after a week off when they begin the stretch run by hosting the Phoenix Suns on Friday.

Toronto won 15 games in a row before dropping a 101-91 decision at Brooklyn and was not happy about the way it went into the break. I look for them to come out hungry tonight.
Phoenix won its final game before the break 112-106 over Golden State and is searching for its first back-to-back wins in over a month as it kicks off a three-game road trip.
Toronto owns a four-game winning streak in the series and gets the win and cover out of the break.

              NBA | Suns vs Raptors
Play on: Suns +8 -105 at Bovada

Let’s roll with the Suns here. This team already is close to going over their win total for the season. The Raptors give them credit, they have over achieved since Kawahi left. I just question how much interest the Raptors will have here.

                NBA | Pacers vs Knicks
Play on: Pacers -6½ -105 at pinnacle

Jack’s Free Pick Friday: Indiana Pacers -6.5
The Indiana Pacers will be among the best teams in the Eastern Conference after the All-Star Break. They just got back Victor Oladipo and he should be back to full strength by now after the break.
The Pacers lost six of their final seven games going into the break, but they did beat the Bucks in their last game at home. And now they want revenge from their upset home loss to the Knicks as 11-point favorites on February 1st during this streak.
The Knicks were blasted by the Wizards 96-114 at home in their final game before the break. They don’t have a lot to play for coming out of the break, so I look for the Pacers to be the team playing with more sense of urgency tonight.
The Pacers are 15-4 ATS in their last 19 games after allowing 105 points or more in five straight games. Indiana is 7-2 ATS in its last nine road games. The Pacers are 5-0 ATS in their last five games as a road favorite. Indiana is 36-15-2 ATS in its last 53 games playing on three or more days’ rest. Bet the Pacers Friday.

                  NBA | Pacers vs Knicks
Play on: Pacers -5½ -110 at Mirage

My free play is on the Ind Pacers at 7:35 ET.

The Indiana Pacers knew Oladipo was not going to get back on the court until right before the All Star break. Oladipo finally returned on Jan 29 and the Pacers beat the Bulls 115-106 in OT, giving them a 31-17 record. However, the Pacers then lost their 1st SIX games in Feb, before ending that skid with an 118-11 win over Milwaukee on Feb 12 (note: Giannis didn’t play!). Indian comes out of the break at 32-23, 15 games back of the NBA-best Bucks. The No. 6-seeded Pacers are hoping to carry the momentum of beating Milwaukee into their final 27 games of the regular season but realistically, Indiana's best hope is to inch past No. 5 seed Philly (35-21) and No. 4 seed Miami (35-20) to earn a first-round bye. The Pacers visit MSG on Friday to face the NY Knicks, a team which has LONG ago shelved any postseason aspirations. It's true that the 17-38 Knicks have gone 13-20 SU since Mike Miller took over on an interim basis for David Fizdale in December (Knicks were 4-18 under Fizdale), but the rest of the season is more about player development and finding out if R.J. Barrett is the piece the team wants to build around for the future.

Here's the latest update on the Indiana star. Oladipo will be playing in his eighth game since missing a little more than a year with a ruptured quadriceps injury. In his first seven games, he averaged 25 minutes and did not play more than 29 minutes in any game (11.1 PPG on just 32.9% shooting). However, head coach Nate McMillan recently told reporters that doctors cleared Oladipo to start playing 32 to 34 minutes, which is on par with his career average of 33.1 minutes per game. Oladipo averaged 31.9 minutes and 18.8 points before getting hurt last season and two years ago, in his first season with the Pacers, averaged 23.1 points while playing 34 minutes. Also arriving with Oladipo from OKC in the trade for Paul George was PF Sabonis, who has developed into an All Sta (18.3-12.5-4.8). The Pacers have OUTSTANDING depth with SF Warren (18.5) and PG Brogdon (16.6-4.7-7.3) playing a high levels. Then there are SG Lamb (12.9 & 4.4), center Turner (119. & 6.1) and SF McDermott (10.40 also averaging in double digits.

The Knicks traded away one of their top-two performers this season in SF Morris (19.6 & 5.4) at the deadline, leaving PF Randle (19.3 & 9.60 as the team's lone marquee plyers (and that's a stretch). As noted above, Barrett was the third overall pick of the 2019 draft and management will be;\looking closely at his performance the rest of the way (he starts the second-half averaging 13.6 & 5.1. Reggie Bullock signed with the Knicks in July of 2019 and underwent successful surgery on the next day for a cervical disc herniation. He debuted with the Knicks on January 1, 2020 and is averaging 9.8 PPG. PG Payton (9.7-4.7-6.9) has been decent plus PF Portis (9.4 & 5.3) and center Robinson (9.2 & ) have had their moments.

Indiana's six-game slide began back on Feb 1 with an 'ugly' 92-85 home loss to the Knicks, who were 11-point 'dogs. That defeat snapped a SEVEN-game Indiana winning streak in the series. The Pacers will play SEVEN of their next nine on the road and the team can't afford NOT to win road games against highly beatable teams like the Knicks. Lay the points!

                  Good luck...Larry

                    Play on: UNDER 226½ -101

                    1* Boston/Minnesota UNDER the total
Boston is 7-1 UNDER with three days of rest, and 4-0 UNDER after scoring 125+ points. In addition they bring a majestic 2-11 UNDER record on the road when facing a non-conference foe with under a .333 mark. The T-Wolves are a perfect 0-3 UNDER with or more days rest, 3-8 UNDER L11. Good Luck.

                      NBA | Nuggets vs Thunder
                      Play on: UNDER 216 -105

Take Under the Total in the game between the Denver Nuggets and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Denver (38-17) returns from the All-Star break coming off a 120-116 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers last Wednesday. A key metric I am looking for after the long layoffs after the All-Star Game is how teams perform after extended time off. The Nuggets have played 7 of their last 10 games Under the Total when playing with at least three days of rest. Denver has also played 6 of their last 8 games Under the Total as an underdog. Oklahoma City (33-22) comes off a 123-118 upset win in New Orleans last Thursday. The Thunder have played a decisive 35 of their last 51 games Under the Total when playing with at least three days of rest. The Under is also 3-1-1 in Oklahoma City’s last 5 games at home. Take the Under. Best of luck — Frank.

The Boston Celtics turned it on going into the break in going 11-2 SU & 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall. They are on a mission to get the second seed in the Eastern Conference and should come out of the break hitting on all cylinders as well. The Minnesota Timberwolves have tank written all over them. They are 1-15 SU & 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games overall. Now they come out of the break without their best player in Karl Anthony-Towns due to a wrist injury. And they already traded away many of their best players before the break. The Celtics are 8-1 ATS when playing 4 or less games in 10 days this season. The Timberwolves are 6-21-1 ATS in their last 28 home games. Boston is 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings. Give me the Celtics.

They have gone 1-5 SU & 2-4 ATS in their first 6 road games with 4 of those losses coming by 7 points or more. The home team is 9-1 SU & 7-2-1 ATS in the last 10 matchups. The Jazz are 5-0 SU & 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 home matchups with the Spurs. They won by 20 and 34 points in their last 2 matchups with San Antonio in Salt Lake City. The Spurs are 9-19 on the road this year, while the Jazz are 20-5 at home. Take Utah.

                              10* FREE NBA PICK (Spurs/Jazz OVER 223.5)
I'll take my chances here with the OVER 223.5 in this one. I just think the books have set this total way too low for these two teams. They just played on Jan. 29th and combined for 247 points, as both teams eclipsed 120 points.
San Antonio gives up 116.4 ppg on the road this season and Utah is averaging 111.6 ppg on 48% shooting at home. Utah scored at least 114 in 4 straight before the break. Spurs allowed 122 or more in 4 of their last 5 before the break. If Utah just scores 115, we simply need 109 from the Spurs to eclipse the mark.
San Antonio hasn't been winning, but it's because of their offense. Spurs are scoring 113.2 ppg on the season and should be able to attack Utah in transition, as the Jazz have struggled letting teams get out and run. I also don't think Utah's the defensive juggernaut that people associate them with.
OVER is 12-2 in the Spurs last 14 road games in the month of February, 9-1 in their last 10 vs a team with a winning record and 10-1 in their last 11 when playing on 3 or more days of rest. OVER is also 10-4 in Utah's last 14 as a favorite and 10-2 in their last 12 vs a marinal losing team like the Spurs. Give me the OVER 223.5!

Play on: Bruins -130 at Bovada

Friday NHL Free play. My selection is on Boston over Calgary at 9:05 pm et on Friday.
If the Bruins were going to get tripped up, I think it would have happened two nights ago in Edmonton as the Oilers could have easily been overlooked missing a number of players due to injury, not to mention the fact that the B's were traveling two time zones west for the first time since October. Now I look for Boston to have settled in out west and turn in an even stronger effort on Friday night. The Flames have been struggling but did manage to post a victory over the Ducks on Monday. Keep in mind, Anaheim is one of the league's worst teams. Calgary takes a big step up in class in this contest and I look for it to fall short. Take Boston (8*).
