                Always check program numbers.
Odds shown are morning line odds.

                Race 7 - SA - 7.0f on the Dirt. Purse: $19000 Class Rating: 84

FOR FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE STARTED FOR A CLAIMING PRICE OF $5,000 OR LESS SINCE JULY 25, 2018. THREE YEAR OLDS, 120 LBS.; OLDER, 124 LBS. NON-WINNERS OF A RACE SINCE MAY 25 ALLOWED 2 LBS. A RACE SINCE MARCH 25 ALLOWED 4 LBS.

                RECOMMENDED CHOICES
                # 2 SNIFF 9/2
                # 8 SILK STOCKING 9/2
                # 6 ALPINE MOON 7/2
SNIFF seems to be the wager in here. Investors ought to take a good look at this one as this filly has one of the best win percentages at this distance in this field. SILK STOCKING - Should land in the top three without a hitch. Has competitive speed figures and has to be considered for a wager here. ALPINE MOON - She has been running strongly and the speed figures are among the most favorable in this group. Trotman should be able to get this filly to break out sharply for this event.

                  RECOMMENDED CHOICES
                  # 1 MAZ KANATA 7/2
                  # 5 MAGICALCHIC 5/2
                  # 4 MADAME MOUSSE 4/1
I back MAZ KANATA here. She should be given a chance given the strong speed figs. Aquino has a sound 16 percent win rate with entries running at this distance and surface. With Allen controlling the reins on her, this mare will most likely be able to break out quickly for this race. MAGICALCHIC - Handler has sharp win rate (21 percent) at this distance and surface. Ran a strong last race. MADAME MOUSSE - Has run soundly when racing a dirt sprint race.

                    Saratoga - Race #5 - Post: 3:24pm - Starter Allowance - 5.5 furlongs on the Turf. Purse: $55,000 Class Rating: 94

                    Rating:

                    #10 STANDUP (ML=9/2)
                    #7 INK SPLOTZ (ML=15/1)

STANDUP - Trainer Falcone moves this horse down the class scale to face weaker company. Look for a sharp performance given this drop. I think this gelding is ready to run a good one. He's had enough efforts since the vacation and should be fit. I really like that last race on June 27th at Belmont Park where he finished third. If you review the PP's for this thoroughbred, you'll see he has recorded the top speed fig at the distance and surface. A repeat race in this event and this horse has a superb chance to win. The last speed rating of 94 is the best last race speed rating in the group. INK SPLOTZ - I usually like playing sprint horses who are 3-4 races into a return.

Vulnerable Contenders: #9 SIR ALFRED JAMES (ML=2/1), #4 THREE OUTLAWS (ML=7/2), #2 BIG WONDER (ML=4/1),

SIR ALFRED JAMES - The event on Jun 13th was versus maiden claimers. Pass on this one in today's event versus the tougher group. Doubtful that the speed rating he earned on June 13th will hold up in this race. THREE OUTLAWS - No success for this runner in a short distance race over the last two months tells me that this gelding is in a tough situation BIG WONDER - You think this horse is going to be first just because he's always close. Just doesn't get the job done regularly.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Putting our cash on #10 STANDUP to win. Have to have odds of at least 7/5 or better though

                      Louisiana Downs - Race #2 - Post: 3:33pm - Claiming - 8.0 furlongs on the Turf. Purse: $11,500 Class Rating: 69

                      Rating:

#9 COME ON GET HIGHER (ML=9/2)
                      #7 CHAMBLISS (ML=4/1)
                      #6 WRECK EM (ML=10/1)

COME ON GET HIGHER - Don't often see a favorable return on investment like +43. This jock/conditioner twosome has done well together over the last 12 months. Got to appreciate a good work horse. This gelding's last work was second fastest of the day for the distance. Looking at today's class rating, this pony is encountering an easier field than last time around the track at Louisiana Downs. CHAMBLISS - This gelding is in excellent physical condition right now. Ended up first last time around the track and comes back soon. This jockey and conditioner have a favorable return on investment when they join forces. Just see his most recent fig, 67. That one looks good in this bunch. WRECK EM - A big drop in class figure points from his Jul 1st race at Louisiana Downs. Based on that data point, I will give this one the advantage.

                      Vulnerable Contenders: #2 DON GUILLERMO (ML=7/2), #3 RAY'S KING (ML=5/1), #4 IN CHARGE HALO (ML=6/1),

DON GUILLERMO - Doubtful that this equine will finish better than he did last time when placing sixth. RAY'S KING - You always figure that this horse has a shot to be victorious, but he just misses often. Multiple attempts for this runner at Louisiana Downs and still hasn't received his first victory here. IN CHARGE HALO - Can't make a habit of betting on ponies that rarely win. Looked good on Jul 1st, finishing third, but no morning drills since is a bit troublesome. Ran a great speed rating last out, but the try will probably take too much out of him.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - WRECK EM - If a longshot has the top Power Rating, rest assured, he'll be getting my cash.

                                MLB | Brewers vs Cubs
Play on: Cubs -142 at pinnacle

10* FREE MLB PICK (Cubs -142)
We cashed in our NL Central Game of the Month on the Cubs Friday. I loved the starting pitching matchup with Hendricks in that one. While I'm not as big on Yu Darvish as I am Hendricks, I do think he took a big step forward last year. More than anything, I like the track record for Darvish against these Brewers. He's got a 1.67 ERA and 0.963 WHIP inh 5 starts. He faced them twice last year and allowed just 1 run in 10 innings with 15 strikeouts to just 1 walk.
On the flip side of this, Milwaukee is turning to Corbin Burnes. He's only making this start because Brett Anderson landed on the DL. Burnes was actually in the Brewers rotation to start the season, but lasted just 4 starts. He had a 10.70 ERA in those 4 starts, giving up a staggering 11 home runs. He's also got an ugly 7.36 ERA over 11 career innings of work against the Cubs. Give me Chicago -142!
