Mountaineer - Race #2
Mountaineer - Race #3
Mountaineer - Race #8
Mountaineer - Race #2
| #9 Shy Guy | Might offer a little price here off the third-place run last time out, but he has been reliable in three grass starts and fits well here if he has any forward move in him off the comeback run. |
| #2 Soul Beam | Back turf form in California stacks up nicely with what it'd take to score in here, and he already turned in a good effort off the claim for a barn that is red hot locally. |
| #7 Our Alibi | Makes the turf debut after a useful comeback run, but I wouldn't want him as the favorite in a competitive race. |
| Race Summary | Shy Guy is better on the dirt, but his turf form stacks up pretty favorably with this group, and he should be rolling home late. |
| #4 Lovin Machen | Second choice is worth a look in hopes the heavy chalk doesn't back up the last one, and this filly should be close up throughout tonight. |
| #7 West Virginia Pam | The clear one to beat after seemingly waking up big time on the turf last time out. I'll usually take those kinds of efforts at face value until proven otherwise, but there is some chance she takes a big step back today at a short price. Single her or try to beat her. |
| #6 Eclipse Glow | Has only had the one main track run so far, and though she didn't show anything that day, there is some room for improvement with that race under her belt while trying the turf for the first time. |
| Race Summary | Lovin Machen is the most logical alternative to the big chalk, and she handled the turf just fine in her only spin over the local course. |
| #1 Flirty | She's a fairly reliable type who just faced a better group in that last one, and she can get a good trip here from midpack. |
| #2 Three Illusions | Short-priced player probably wins this, but she's facing some better horses this time around. Perfect trip should be waiting for her. |
| #3 True Purpose | Owns a few races that might translate well around two turns, and she might be the right price to get in the gimmicks with the more logical players. |
| Race Summary | Flirty was a good fit at this level locally when on the turf a couple starts back, and she's a good alternative to the strong chalk drawn outside of her. |
