The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Red Sox 9-1 yesterday to get back above .500 for the season. They are a nice young team with a potent lineup that has scored 16 runs in the first two games of this series against the hapless Red Sox, who are just 10-20 on the season and giving up 6.1 runs per game. Chris Mazz was rocked for 4 runs and 9 base runners in 3 innings in his season debut against the Yankees. Hyun-Jin Ryu is 2-1 with a 3.19 ERA in six starts this season, including 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA in his last three outings. Toronto should put away Boston early in this one. Give me the Blue Jays on the Run Line.

I know this is a really ugly one here taking the Rangers but there are a couple things in our advantage. Bassitt for the A's isn't exactly in great form right now with a 4.86 ERA his last 3 starts. He has struggled big time against the Rangers in his career with a 6.48 ERA. Lyes on the other hand has been really pathetic but he gets up to pitch against the A's with a career 1.45 ERA.

Thursday MLB Free play. My selection is on Oakland over Texas at 6:35 pm et on Thursday.
I'll back the A's as they look to take this series from the Rangers in Texas on Thursday night. Chris Bassitt will take the ball for Oakland. He has quietly recorded a stellar 2.97 ERA and 1.08 WHIP this season and has improved on his walks, hits and home runs allowed per nine innings compared to last year. His strikeouts are down slightly but back around his career average in that department. Jordan Lyles will counter for Texas. The journeyman starter has once again struggled this season with his strikeouts per nine innings way down and his walks up considerably. He's giving up a whopping 12.2 hits per nine innings and should struggle against an A's club that ranks 11th in the majors in runs per game. Take Oakland (8*).
