7 Unit Play. Take #717 Over 226 Houston at Oklahoma City (9:00p.m., Monday August 31 TNT) Another win or go home type of game tonight inside the NBA Playoff Bubble and the Houston Rockets will look to send home the Thunder. Game #5 went 'Under' the total because the Thunder only scored 80 points but tonight with their season on the line I see a very high scoring game from both teams. The Houston Rockets are averaging 113.8ppg in this series and 3 out of the 5 games have gone 'Over' the total. OKC shot 7-46 (15%) from 3-point land and also shot 15-23 (65%) from the free throw stripe and tonight I see all these figures going up and again the tempo will be high and this total flies 'Over'. Oklahoma City is 4-1 O/U following a SU loss and the Thunder are 20-8 O/U following a ATS loss.
114-80- last game. Also bear in mind Houston didn't do anything special in that game, shot 43% from the floor, 40% from 3-point range and were outshot on Free throws and out-rebounded in that game and still crushed OK City. They also contended shots and played decent defense and when they do that they simply outscore people. Having Westbrook back and Gordon in the lineup makes Houston a different animal to defend and beat and it showed last game despite Westbrook having only 23 minutes on the floor and 7 points. Houston 8th in offensive efficiency, OK City 17th. Houston 2nd in the NBA in scoring, OK City 22nd. I think the Rockets pout it to them today and close it out on a high note despite Donovan's coaching prowess and adjustments for this game, he is outmanned. All 3 of the wins Houston has had were by 13 points or more.
7-Unit Play: Take 12 Lightning -120 over Bruins (7 p.m., Monday, August 31)
We played Tampa Bay following their game 1 loss to Boston and mentioned that while they were out-played in the opening period, Tampa looked to have figured out Boston goalie Jaroslav Halak in the final 10 minutes of the series opener. Firing from the point with bodies in front of the crease bothered Halak and Tampa Bay has rolled ever since, winning three straight games. In fact, Halak was pulled in game 3. Tampa has out-scored Boston, 16-5 over the last 10 periods (plus OT in game 2), controlling the ice at both ends. And if that's not enough, Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy is on a 9-3 playoff run with a 1.98 GAA and a .927 save percentage. I'm backing Tampa Bay as they look to close out the series on Monday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.
3-Unit Play. #719. Take Under 224 Miami Heat vs. Milwaukee Bucks (Monday @ 6:30pm est)
Great NBA right now as we went 2-0 on the Weekend for +1000 and are on a season high at +9400 and we look forward to winning today as well and excited about our 7*NHL and 7*Tennis Selections which go off today. We roll with the Under here as it is hard to imagine that the Heat are not going to sort of punch Milwaukee in the mouth first here. Remember, we have a 7*NHL and 7*Tennis Selection that go today as well. This is a Miami Heat team that with Jimmy Butler beat Giannis the one time they faced each other holding Giannis to 13 points. They know how to defend the Bucks very well and they will do that well here as they have both Riley and Spoelstra who are great defensive minds and it's not like Coach Bud really changes anything ever from series to series as he runs the same sets. Yes, the last time these two teams met the game went to over 250 points but that was different as there was no Jimmy and his defensive presence was not there. Look for a hotly contested game 1, and this game to likely go under the posted total today.
3-Unit Play. #957. Take Under 7.5 Runs (-110) New York Yankees vs. Tampa Bay Rays (Monday @ 7:05pm est)
We roll with the Under here as even though the total is pretty low here we still like the Under. Note, we have a 7*NHL Selection today that goes off at 9:45pm which we are very excited about. Per this game, you would have to think that both these guys show up in this important game. Glasnow has a 5+ era and he has not pitched that great this year but he is turning the corner, as he comes off 13 strikeouts against Baltimore in 7 innings. He has won his last 3 starts and has given up 4 runs in total in his last 2 starts. You combine that with who comes off giving up 5 runs in 5 innings to Atlanta which is his worst start in ages, look for him to get back on track here as well and what you have here is a game that is going to be very hard fought and low scoring as it likely goes under the posted total today. Note, 7*Tennis selection likley today as well.
Indian Cowboy Tennis - note match is tomorrow morning!
7-Unit Play. US Open Men's Singles. Take Bradley Klahn -5.5 Games (-110) over Sumit Nagal (Tuesday @ 11am est)
Bradley Klahn beat Marcos Giron who is a top 100 player and don't get me wrong, we like Sumit as a person qutie a bit and he took a set against Federer in the US Open not too long ago before Federer carved him up and won the remaining sets. But, per thi smatch, Klahn is a 30 year old veteran from California and has won some big matches and Sumit when he faces top ranked players has a way of falling well short and it is not to say that Klahn is a high ranked player but he does have some big wins and has some great experience. In the end, we we can see a situation here where Klahn likely wins 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 in that format which will allow for a relatively easy cover here and consequently we look for him to likely get it done her today as he is very consistent on his groundstrokes and that likely makes the difference here. Look for Klahn to break a couple of times here and likely will be just too tough for Sumit.
7-Unit Play. #13. Take Under 6 Goals (+100) Dallas vs. Colorado (Monday @ 9pm est)
Every game in this series has gone Over the posted total and we understand that but I think this game changes here. At some point a game has to go Under and why not this game with Coloardo having their backs to the wall. Remember, Dallas had scored the fewest goals out of any of the teams to make the Weestern Conference Playoffs so the fact that they have come this far is quite amazing. We do expect Dallas here to likely slow down a bit on offense as they got up 3-0 on Coloardo early and I susepct that Coloardo will not look forward to letting them up to fast as they made a fantastic comeback and to make it 2-3 but getting down 0-3 was what was difficult and what made it tough on this team. Dallas has been sharp all playoffs and they have even noted that getting that 4th win if you will is the hardest and I suspect their defense will be sharp similar to the last game and look for this game to likely go under the posted total. Note, we might have a 7*NBA, 7*Tennis Selection today as well.
