For the second straight day, I'm fading the same team I just cashed with on my free pick the day before. I see a ton of value with the Rockies as a small home favorit Friday night.
I believe the value stems from the not so great numbers of Colorado starter German Marquez. He has a mere 4.58 ERA and 1.345 WHIP in 9 starts. Thing is, those numbers don't do Marquez justice.
Guy owns a much better 3.69 FIP and 3.94 xFIP. I also think you have to factor in the Angels' poor offensive road numbers. LA scoring just 3.9 runs/game with a .220 average, .297 OBP and .361 SLG.
I also feel great about fading Angels' starter Griffin Canning. He's got similar numbers to Marquez with a 4.54 ERA and 1.361 WHIP, but has advanced metrics point the other way. Canning owns a not so great 5.30 FIP and 5.14 xFIP. Canning also giving up 1.8 HR/9, which is not a good thing at Coors Field. Give me the Rockies -129!
